LakeLife is a lovely campground situated right on Lake Whitney. The park offers amenities such as nice clean bathrooms, free wifi, and laundry and it is run by very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Lots are paved with large trees for shade and privacy as well as open grassy areas. A short trail at the back of the park leads down to water, a great spot to watch the sunset! Additionally, McCowen Valley Park is located less than a mile down the road; great for hiking, boating, and even horseback riding.
LakeLife is conveniently located to conveniences such as fuel and groceries.
Highly recommend, pet friendly! We camped at Lake Life RV (Formerly Lake Whitney RV Community) in a Travel Trailer. We camped at Lake Life RV (Formerly Lake Whitney RV Community) in a Travel Trailer.
Tips for other Campers:
McCowen Valley park is a must see with many close up views of turkey, deer, waterfowl and other wildlife. Beautiful walks along the water.
Someday this might be a good park, but I wouldn't count on it. There is no office to check in to on arrival and nowhere to find information about your campsite. The sites are so close together that 2 RVs with slides would not leave room to walk between them. The sewer connection of the next site is adjacent to your patio. There are zero activities on site and the owners are obviously new to running a campground. The Tuesday potluck dinners referred to in another post are no more since the new owners banned the surrounding properly owners from using the common area facilities. There are no rules posted or quiet times enforced. The roads are falling apart, and a feud between the new owners and the permanent residents will probably impede future improvements. I wouldn't stay here until those two groups have learned to work together. We camped at Lake Life RV (Formerly Lake Whitney RV Community) in a Fifth Wheel.
The RV Sites of this community are located in the center of an extremely nice RV community where owners have erected full time RV based homes. The owners of these residence are very warm in welcoming of those who stay in the RV park sites. Now to be up front, the photos of the LLRV site show what looks to be a couple of beautiful sites overlooking the lake and the surrounding bluffs. These are concrete pads with tables at the end of a walking trail, not RV sites. The RV sites are all pull-through sites on the main road into the RV community. Most of the sites are level, some with a concrete pad, most are gravel. A few of the sites have a grass front yard area out your door, some are finished in mulch due to the Texas heat, but all are nicely maintained. No cable, but great local reception or satellite dish reception. The owners are over the top perfection. I have never received such a warm welcome and follow-up while staying at any RV park. They want to make sure your stay is a perfect as can be. The do have expansion plans and are currently working on these. If you are looking for swimming you have access to a state park within 1/2 mile for lake access. If you are in the area and looking for some peace and down time this is your place. This park is under new ownership and improvements are being made to make it a destination park on Lake Whitney. Trees are nicely trimmed and landscaping is being added. Eventually it will have shuffleboard and other community activities as well. There are walking trails to the lake with a beautiful view of the lake and the Katy Bridge. Bonanza market is within walking distance and they have a nice meat market, frozen foods and a post office. There is a boat ramp 1/2 mile away. The town of Whitney about 5 miles away and has fast food restaurants as well as some nice breakfast, lunch and dinner options. We camped at Lake Life RV (Formerly Lake Whitney RV Community) in a Motorhome.
This park is a well maintained RV community with permanent homes as well as RV spots. Tuesday nights they have a pot luck dinner in the club house. Nice way to get to meet your neighbors. The management is very knowledgeable of the area, the people are very friendly. There is a picnic area that overlooks Lake Whitney although there is no lake access from the park it is just a short drive to picnic areas at the lake. Great fishing! Would definitely stop here again. We camped at Lake Life RV (Formerly Lake Whitney RV Community) in a Fifth Wheel.
This RV PORT HOME community I'd rate a 10 because the lovely homes in the park are very nice, well kept and manicured. As we walked around in the home area everyone was very out going and friendly and seemed to be happy living there. What a wonderful place to live and be with other RV'ers and have your rig covered at all times. I would highly recommend building here. Then there's the RV park portion in the middle of the park which I give a 3 because the RV sites are very unkempt outside your door. There are some concrete pads but most of the spaces are unlevel. We had to move 2x then jack up the front of our 40' MH to get level. Not all of the sites are 50 amp and a lot of sites have old electric, H20 and sewer connections. The RV park portion of the community needs to be element ed or revamped because it's an eyesore to the rest of the beautiful community. We would not stay in the RV park again except to look at the nice lots and homes that are available for purchase. We camped at Lake Life RV (Formerly Lake Whitney RV Community) in a Motorhome.
We would rate this campground higher if cable was available. All sites have concrete pads, and some are slightly unlevel and somewhat close together. Park also has numerous permanent RV ports, and lots for sale for new buyers. The park backs to Lake Whitney but does not have direct access to the lake. There is a clean laundry that is outside but covered. There is a nice county park close by with boat ramps. Overall the park is quiet, well kept, and directed toward mature campers rather than family camping. At the back of the park is a nice picnic area, fire rings, and a short walk to an overlook to Lake Whitney. We camped at Lake Life RV (Formerly Lake Whitney RV Community) in a Fifth Wheel.

The management and staff are extremely knowledgeable of all the interesting places to visit in the area. The rates are reasonable. This is an RV Park surrounded by homes of primarily retired RV'rs who for the most part are extremely friendly and helpful to everyone entering the park. The park is in a gated area and gates are always accessible to the RV'rs parked here. The park is in a short walking distance to a beautiful overview area of Lake Whitney on dedicated wooded well kept graveled trails. There is a large club building with three separate meeting areas with complete kitchen facilities in each and there are activities held in this facility weekly. There is a "movie night" each Thursday night showing recently released movies and free popcorn is available. We camped at Lake Life RV (Formerly Lake Whitney RV Community) in a Fifth Wheel.
