Sites uneven, could not get Wi-Fi in our rig. Roads in bad shape, Building new cabins seemed to be a priority over RV sites. Booked for three nights left after two. Would never go back. We camped at Bishop's Landing RV Resort (formerly Castaways RV Park & Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

We will not stay again. Terrible sites, unlevel, hard to get into, rutted streets. But the worst part are the ANTS ! SUGAR ANTS ! We went into Houston for about 4 hours and came back to the ants that marched up our electric cord and up the side, roof and underneath the fifth wheel. Billions of them. Office didn't seem to care. Bath and Showers are clean. laundry was clean. December 15 and we still have them. We camped at Bishop's Landing RV Resort (formerly Castaways RV Park & Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

Price reflects C2C membership. Campground was somewhat challenging to find. GPS does not go directly to the campground. Go down Longstreet Road turn on Sandy Cove to go into campground. But it is easy to get into. There is a security gate at the entrance to campground. This is a standard "parking lot" style campground. There are several different areas of campsites. The sites closest to the lake are reserved members. There are sites throughout an area with many trees. These sites were smaller and had mud around them. We chose a larger site in an area with very few trees. The sites near us (#100-118) easily handle big rigs. It would have been more challenging to get into some of the lower sites. Sites are very close together. There was room in our site for the truck, 5th wheel and jeep. Gravel and Asphalt roads through the campground. Sites are level. Some of the sites have picnic tables. Our site was not large enough or level enough for a table. Nice pool area, but the pool is not heated so it was too cold to swim. Laundry room is available, however, half the washers and dryers were out of order. Good Verizon coverage. Easy to get DirecTV satellite. We camped at Bishop's Landing RV Resort (formerly Castaways RV Park & Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

There have been some improvements in the park recently, specifically, concrete pads in some sites. The problem is the approaches to these sites is soft sand, so when it rains, getting in and out is incredible difficult. The roads are abysmal at best. Major washouts which are simply left. A very nice clubhouse, but campers are not allowed to use it. Instead, it is rented for weddings, etc. and permanently set up for such venues. Consequently, it is simply a place to park an RV and stay at one's own site. A disappointment. The sites have such a drop-off, picnic table is not useable, and not enough room to even sit in chairs outside. We camped at Bishop's Landing RV Resort (formerly Castaways RV Park & Campground) in a Motorhome.

Most sites are occupied by permanent residents. Restrooms worked, but needed a lot of repair. The laundry was mostly out of commission and looked ratty. Sites were generally large and well spaced. Beware backing into sites on the uphill side of the road. The site may be level, however the approach for some sites requires ascent of a short, but steep grade. Many RV's scraped bottom leaving long scratches in the concrete.

Pedestals had no circuit breakers. Even though I was on a concrete pad, I picked up an ant infestation. Roads are rough and narrow with little room to maneuver.

One section of the park is in a level grassy field. The other section overlooks the lake and is on a nicely wooded hillside. Nights were quiet. WiFi worked well except for the two days it was down altogether. I would be reluctant to camp here again. Rate for ROD is $0. We camped at Bishop's Landing RV Resort (formerly Castaways RV Park & Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

They have two rows of site reserved for "members", and the rest are uneven dirt with a handful of gravel. While we've been here, there's only been one camper in the member row. So all of those concrete pads are just sitting empty and taunting us. The bathrooms near our site are clean, but rough (doors does that don't close all the way, occasional large cockroaches, etc). They have a tiny old playground. The waterfront is pretty. The roads through the non-member campsites are terrible. Pool is large but not heated. They have a beautiful new outdoor pavilion, but not a campfire area, which we would have loved. There are tiny weed prickers EVERYWHERE that will find their way into your camper. And after being here for 5 nights, our camper is now infested with ants. We are checking out early because of the ants and prickers.

I forgot to add, the laundry is sub-par. Half of the machines don't work, and the ones that do-don't do it well.

We won't stay here again. We camped at Bishop's Landing RV Resort (formerly Castaways RV Park & Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

Rate reflects ROD membership. Directories show this campground with 2 different names: Bishops Landing and Castaways RV Park and Campground—so it is little confusing for GPS and finding reviews. All the staff were very friendly. Sites are very close together. Some sites have a concrete pad, the area we were in had a gravel area for RV—but we stepped out into mud between the sites. Beautiful views of Lake Conroe. There is access to the lake directly from the resort. They were working on utilities in the area we were camping, so there was a lot of noise, construction equipment and mud, however, improvements cause disruption. Sites were level. There were several large ditches and holes between campsites—which makes it difficult to find a level spot to sit outside. Good Verizon cell coverage and even with trees throughout we were able to easily get our TV satellite connected. We would definitely stay again. Nice park easy access. Lots of activities. The only thing that I did not like was the people drive thru there like it's a city street. You get a face full of dirt every time they drive by. Everything is covered in dirt by the first day. It would be a great park if they could get the people to stop driving so stupid. Checked into this place and could not get the RV level. The staff was nice, but the campground conditions were poor. The 50 amp had low voltage. Only stayed one night and left to find a better place. Terrible interior roads, full of potholes. Connections are a 30amp and 50 amp on same pole for 2 sites. Whoever gets there first gets choice ,next one gets what is left. Difficult if you both need 50 amps. Sites are uneven, out of level and nothing but holes and weeds. They say they are doing improvements but never saw anyone working. On a lake but those sites near lake are reserved for members only. Other shady sites will only fit small trailer or 5th wheel. If you are in a large motor home you will be in unshaded area . No cable, unreliable 2channels of local TV . Wifi for a fee. Nice big pool, pool area needs work, very old. Clubhouse is also very old with outdated furniture. Most of the staff is nice not overly friendly but nice. Don't think we will be back. We camped at Bishop's Landing RV Resort (formerly Castaways RV Park & Campground) in a Motorhome.

This park was a disappointment. The staff was very friendly, but the sites were not level and our "yard" was not good. There is nothing to do in the area. We left earlier than we had planned. We would not return. We camped at Bishop's Landing RV Resort (formerly Castaways RV Park & Campground) in a Motorhome.

I did not see this in any previous reviews therefore it might be a recent change. This park is now part of the Coast to Coast RV Resorts. Which is basically a time share for RVs. To become a member of a "home park" like this one costs between $3000 to $6000, depending on the park; plus a $200 to $600 annual fee, again depending on the park; plus $79.95 for "classic", or $149.95 for "deluxe", or $189.95 for "gold" membership per year to Coast to Coast. Membership entitles you to stay at your home or other member parks at discount, which in my opinion, given the max length of stay requirements (7 days) the upfront fees and annual fees, you will likely not live long enough to break even. Nowhere is any of this mentioned on the parks website. They do allow non-members to stay at the published rate but you are required to hear the 60 to 90 minute "pitch" as to the benefits of membership.
