We arrived very early to get a spot in the first come first served section. We chose Loop B #47 in 35" motorhome. We loved loop B as it's a short walk to the rim where you can watch the sunrise or sunset or hike around the rim. The campground is quiet though it's pretty crowded. No hookups but water is available. We stayed 3 nights. You can easily walk down to the shuttles to take you around the park. Or take a hike from the park around the rim. We loved Bryce so wish we could have stayed longer. We camped at North Campground (NPS Campground) in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

We were looking for a place to stay that would be convenient to hiking and biking at Bryce. We're self contained and don't use the facilities. We stayed the first week of June, including the weekend, in our 25 foot MH. This CG is well maintained, clean and perfectly situated near the rim trail, multiple trail heads, the bike path, bus stop, Visitor Center, General Store, and the BC Lodge. We arrived at 9:30 am and we're able to find a walk in site in Loop A. Most days, the sites filled up by early afternoon. Get an envelope at the kiosk near the entrance, find an open site, complete the form and return with payment to the kiosk. Most sites need leveling - the reservable sites, those crossing the A Loop and those in the middle of the B Loop are most level. Most sites are relatively small pull throughs or pull overs with good sized separate areas with picnic table and fire ring. Most sites have some shade. There are no hook ups. There's a dump station with fresh water nearby for $5. There's no wifi. There is good ATT and Verizon coverage. The CG hosts were friendly and helpful. We camped at North Campground (NPS Campground) in a Motorhome.

Sites a bit close and had to use leveling blocks, but very beautiful wooded area. Right on the bike trail, so only a short ride to the rim trail, which is truly wonderful! Once at the trail we left the bikes and walked, but did have some problems with the high altitude. Truly an AMAZING NP, and would love to come back someday. Also, right by the Visitor's center. There was a beautiful paved trail 6 miles north into "town". Ruby's General Store is the place to go.... fun shop. Would have loved to stay longer, but it was cold and rainy. This worked well for us since we have a small dog who could not go on the bus to get around. We camped at North Campground (NPS Campground) in a Motorhome.

Dry camping sites only. Site is dirt and a left pull-through, which I hate. Site is too shallow to allow me to put the awning out. It reaches the road. Rock wall on the other side. Otherwise, a nice site with the picnic table slightly above the parking site. Spacious and nicely treed. Short walk to the Visitor Center where you can catch the bus into the park or into town. Sunrise Point is on the other side of the campground. Not too long a walk there either. We camped at North Campground (NPS Campground) in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Just a heads up, Bryce Canyon has raised their daily rates effective July 1, 2015. First come, first serve tent camping is $20/night while any type of RV is $30/night. For definitions of RV's, please see the Wikipedia entry (that's what the NP is using).

North campground has undergone some minor improvements over the last year - new water and power lines have been installed. Unfortunately the campground roads have only been minimally repaired or graded since August 2014, so expect dust, mud and potholes. Many of the tent sites in D loop are now covered with large rocks making tent camping lumpy to say the least.

There is a nice picnic area in North Campground close to the Rim Trail, but alas, the new waterline construction didn't include connecting the water to the this area, so there is no water available in the picnic area.

We volunteered there as camp host in North Campground from April to July 2015 and the status of the campground is as described when we left. We camped at North Campground (NPS Campground) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Bryce Canyon is a treasure - please stop and enjoy the park. Be advised that the two campgrounds in the Park can only be considered as truly "boondocking". The only real amenities at the campground are the bathrooms, which are kept spotless by the park maintenance staff.

Perfect...that was easy. We started booking this trip in March and all the reservable spots were gone. On the advice of park staff, we got there about 10 AM and there were a plethora of spots available. Easy leveling but most did not appear to be. Clean, heated bathrooms close by. Showers, as described before, were a short drive away at the store. The store has to be mentioned for having a variety of goods, including some RV items, at a very reasonable price considering they are the only game in town. Chili was OK but not great. We were in a generator section and others were good about respecting hours. There for five nights and might go again next year with kids and g-kids. We camped at North Campground (NPS Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

It's Bryce. Bring your camera and hiking shoes....maybe some oxygen, 8 or 9 thousand feet high! Take a look at Scenic byway 12. We went to the ruins, about 90 miles one way, some great views but most of a day. Read up on it, we had time and thought it was a nice trip. Red canyon is also good for a side trip.

It's difficult to give a high rating to a campground that has no services at all. That being said, the price is cheap and you are right in Bryce Canyon Nat. Park. We were in North campground, site A-14. The sites are just pull-offs on the side of the campground road, with picnic table and fire pit nearby. Once we opened our slides, we couldn't open the storage doors beneath. The trash disposal is a far distance away. The setting is pretty, pine trees all around. The sites are fairly spacious. We might try a campground just outside the park next time. We camped at North Campground (NPS Campground) in a Motorhome.

Best location within the park. Moderate walk to the visitor center, store, lodge and overlooks. Loops for RVs (>20ft) are paved but many sites are far from level. We're only 22ft and had one front wheel off the ground to get anywhere near level. Showers are in the store building and cost $2. US $1 coins only but they are available at the store. It is a popular place so it's a good idea to arrive early. Rate shown does not reflect Senior Pass. We camped at North Campground (NPS Campground) in a Motorhome.

This is one of two campgrounds at Bryce National Park. It's a large campground with sites that are first come, first served, and which can accommodate most any rig. We stayed in Loop D, which does not allow generators or RVs over 20'. This loop is popular with tent campers and those with small trailers, camper vans or truck campers. The campground is on a hill and many of the sites will require ingenuity to level your rig. There are flush toilets but no showers in the campground although showers are available at the general store in the park. Sites are large but there is little visual privacy from your neighbors. It's a pretty, well-maintained campground and if you are reasonably fit you can walk to the lodge, store, visitor center and view points from your campsite. Our rate reflects the use of our Senior Access Pass. We camped at North Campground (NPS Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

Typical NP campground - sites were far apart from your neighbor, no hookups. Most, if not all, were pull outs from the side of the road. Our site (#23) had a 2’-3’ drop off from the parking area to the picnic table with a stone retaining wall, but there was a stone step to make it an easy transition. Sites across the road were level without the drop off. Site was easy to level. We had to park our 32’ trailer judiciously to enable the truck to be parked in the site as well. Dump station is about a mile away, a short distance to the main road then turn off to Sunrise point. There is a $5 charge to use the dump station, even if you’ve already paid the camping fee (but $15 camping fee is pretty cheap). Road is paved, site is dirt – but it was pretty level. The campground is very convenient to the rest of Bryce Canyon NP. We camped at North Campground (NPS Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed in the A loop and the sites are not level. The only trash cans are at the entrance to the campground, which is odd. Most of the sites are pull through with a tree between the site and the road. The A loop is only 100 yards away from the Visitor center which is very convenient. As of 5/21, the dump station is closed for construction. There is no other hose hookup available for fresh water. Use another RV park to dump and get water. Of course, NPS doesn't post any warning about this on their website or reservation site. Typical incompetence. We camped at North Campground (NPS Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

Our 5th time back to Bryce. Somewhat disappointed by CG roads in poor shape. A bit of asphalt would go a long way to fix the potholes. Had a bit of a run in with a new to Bryce host who took exception to driving the wrong way a short distance so that the door side was not on the road side. Also repeating dismay that size-appropriate use of sites is not enforced by CG hosts. Case in point was a small class B occupying a site with a notice on the post stating "For RVs over 30' only". Also tenters & smaller RVs in loops signed "over 20' long vehicles only". Many tenters in this loop when plenty sites in tent loop were available. On the plus side, many new fire rings & tables this year. We camped at North Campground (NPS Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

Tuesday, April 30 – North Campground, Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah This is one of two developed campgrounds located in Bryce Canyon, both with no hookups and showers only at the General Store ($) within walking distance. North Campground is closer to the Rim Trail and Visitor Center and is open year round. Sites are first come first serve except in the summer there are 15 RV sites that can be reserved in Loop A online. Loops A and B are for campers over 20ft and Loops C and D for those campers or tents less than 20ft. Except our Loop B, over half of the sites the night we were there were taken by tenters in pull -through sites. Even though there is a big sign posted at the beginning of the Loop saying it was for campers over 20ft. The B Loop has more level sites and the most shade. This was an overnight stop for us and it cost $7.50, because of the American the Beautiful Pass for seniors. There is a self fee station when you drive in. We arrived around 10am and so did most of other RV’s coming in. So if coming to the park, arrive early to get a site. They run a shuttle up the park road in early May until late August, so we just missed it. I am sure it would have made our visit even more enjoyable. Beautiful National Park and a great place to camp. We camped at North Campground (NPS Campground) in a Motorhome.
