Spacious sites with beautiful aspen trees and large grassy areas in between sites. Bathrooms/showers are very clean and nice and conveniently located in the center of the campground. Very quiet and conveniently located to sights in southern Flaming Gorge area. Good wifi and received several TV channels on our basic antenna. Our site was level, but several didn't look so level. The back-in sites on the office side of the CG were lovely, backing up to an open field. The sites on the opposite side of the CG backed up to private property and buildings, so not as pretty. Others have mentioned this, but the interior roads and the entrance road have very big dips so drive very, very slowly. We camped at Pine Forest RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice park (& I'm picky). Sites are roomy. Almost every site backs up to open space. Lots of walking opportunities just outside their fence. Camp hosts were very friendly. This is a very good base camp to explore the Flaming Gorge area. This RV Park is actually part of Flaming Gorge Resort. It's a little tricky to find the entrance to the park. Look for the black mailbox on the right with their name on it. This entrance can be a little confusing because there is also a small State Park campground right at the turn. Just keep going a little ways down the gravel road to the park. We camped at Pine Forest RV Park in a Motorhome.

Winding roads with grades from all directions leading to the campground, however, doable in RV. We did not tow the tow vehicle to make the trip easier. Some exterior sites in the campground are not level. We camped here in a 40 foot motor home. We camped at Pine Forest RV Park in a Motorhome.

Good location to visit Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area. Allow time to visit the many sites in the area including the Ute Mountain Fire Lookout Tower, Jarvie Ranch in Browns Park, Sheep Creek Geological Loop, Red Canyon, Flaming Gorge Dam tour, Sweatt Ranch, suspension bridge in the Browns Park National Wildlife Refuge. Be sure to check websites for hours of operation. Boat and raft rentals and fishing guides are available.

Our visit to Pine Forest was an unexpected surprise. We found the campground on our way to Moab UT and arrived late. The owners were there to greet us and were very accommodating. The grounds are beautiful, lots of grass and trees and our site was well appointed with fire ring and full hook ups. The bathrooms were very clean and spacious. The owner dropped off firewood for us and we felt very much at home. This was our favorite campsite during our 3 week trip across country. We camped at Pine Forest RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The property is in close proximity to the Dam and Resevoir/Lake. Lots of folks were going to the lake with their boats and some pulled over to go swimming. We took a tour of the Dam and it was really interesting! I recommend making a trip to grocery store prior to arrival though the store also had lots of provisions.

Overall Rating:

We stayed right at 2 weeks and it is a nice enough park being quiet, well groomed and maintained, and close to all that there is to do in the area. So, why not more stars? Well, we liked the park a lot when we were at a 50 amp spot but then we had to move to a 30 amp site in a different area of the park. We quickly found out that the power was a BIG problem. It kept dropping as low as 100 to 104 volts, which caused our surge protector to kick off line to protect our electronics. When I told the owners about it they were very nice and sent an electrician to check the problem. He confirmed the same readings, then he explained to me that they thought the electrical lines were put in the ground (way back when...) without conduit! That explained a lot. So, not wanting to chance running AC things, like the air conditioner and microwave, etc, we are forgoing the use of their power. Plus, we have 2 dogs and now can't leave them with the A/C running and have to run the generator instead. This is not all that unusual as we've seen many other parks with power problems over our years of RV'ing. I highly recommend using a surge protector! Amazingly, we were the only RV using one in our row. We chose to stay in spite of the power problem, because it IS a nice park, as stated by numerous other reviewers. Also, the owner gave us an acceptable discount. However, some of the negatives mentioned are also true, e.g. the big bumps and dips in the road, as well as the very rough entry road. The grassy area is great, the facilities are super clean and the staff very nice. Also, it is very quiet considering it is the height of summer, i.e. no noise from planes, trains or cars (only kids, which we don't mind) I would stay here again, but I would avoid the power line that we were on, which began with the single digit numbered sites. Another drawback though is that the 50 amp sites are very close together. We camped at Pine Forest RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Expensive at $111.54 for 2 nights in a very tight right hand side back-in 50 amp FHU site. No cable here and 1 OTA network station. Very good wifi. The "dips" mentioned are horrible. They are very sharp and tight and then angled across the road so they cannot be hit straight on. One side of the axle goes in and while coming out the other side drops. Severe side to side rocking occurs even at 1 MPH. No excuse for this stuff. Sites are not the most level, but most are doable. The very nice sites were all taken by what appeared to be seasonal campers. Transient sites are not as nearly as nice. They have a 'pet' deer that wonders around the CG. We camped at Pine Forest RV Park in a Motorhome.

This campground has a lot of green space with grassy shaded sites. They are a bit close on the sides but there are large grassy fields behind the back in sites. There is volleyball, a basketball hoop (not a court but you can play horse) and horseshoes. The owners are very friendly and attentive. Careful of the "dips" in the entrance road. We were a little disappointed in the dam tour, but the hike along the Green River is beautiful (Little Hole Trail). Also, it is very relaxing to rent a pontoon boat to explore the reservoir.

This is a beautiful park located in the Flaming Gorge area. The check in was slow but the couple running the park is very nice and helpful and run a class operation. The sites are huge and the utilities are well placed. Lots of grass that is well tended. The roads and sites are packed gravel with little dust. They have speed ditches be careful after the first one you will slow down they are very effective if annoying. From our site we got satellite and the wifi worked well. We where here at the end of the season and it was not crowded so that may explain why it worked for us. Normally without concrete sites and asphalt drive ways we would never rate a park this high, but there is always an exception and this is it. We camped at Pine Forest RV Park in a Motorhome.

This pretty RV park is well laid out and the staff are absolutely wonderful. The only full hook up option this close to Flaming Gorge/Dutch John. Nice clean bathrooms and showers. They have a basketball court, volleyball court and a playground so very kid friendly. We had the misfortune of camping here when there were two vary large tent groups - one group literally had over 20 tents! This caused a lot of noise which was not conducive to relaxing. Once the large groups left, we were able to enjoy some peace and quiet. We would not exactly call this "big rig friendly" but more of a "big rig doable" as the roads are narrow with large divots and holes. If you've got a long rig, prepare to be creative when parking your truck after you drop your trailer. The site we were in was mostly level, but some leveling was required, as was the case when observing other sites as well. Ask for a fire pit! The staff has a few portable fire pits available that they will deliver and set up at your campsite if you request one when checking in. Beautiful country. We camped at Pine Forest RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Lots to see and do - especially if you are into fishing. A helpful and convenient fly shop is nearby. There are service stations just outside the campground and a few miles north in Dutch John with gasoline and diesel but are very expensive. Fuel up in either Rock Springs, WY to the north or in Vernal, UT to the south to save on fuel costs.

This place is a jewel tucked away in beautiful Flaming Gorge, yet conveniently located just off of Hwy 191. As previous reviewers have commented the grassy sites are meticulously maintained and the customer service is excellent. Take whatever you need as most services are about an hour away in either in Rock Springs or Vernal. Our site required some minor leveling. The hookups were convenient and efficient. While boating & fishing seem to be the most popular pass times, we enjoyed the beautiful vistas and relaxing atmosphere. Far from city lights, the star gazing was extraordinary. As a full-time RV year of 7 1/2 years, I find it very difficult to not be head over heels in love with this park. The service at Pine Forest is excellent and their communication via email is outstanding. The park itself accommodates big rigs and is immaculate. There is something here for everyone - cabins to rent, a well stocked fly shop, spacious and beautiful RV pads that back right up to national Forest and open space. The nights are quiet and each RV site is surrounded by well manicured green grass. Even the restaurant up at the front is clean and offers excellent food. We were in a 37 foot RV and enjoyed every minute of our stay... And so did our two dogs! We camped at Pine Forest RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here for two nights on our way to another park. We were pleasantly surprised by this park. The setting is beautiful, and the owners very nice. The owner rides around the park making sure everything is just right.

We requested a pull through site that could accommodate a 40ft rig + tow. Our tow just fit into the space. The site was a little unlevel, but nothing the jacks couldn't handle.

There are decent size trees, and ample green lawn between the sites. This is a great jumping off for the many hiking and biking trails in the area (again we were surprised by how much there was to do here).

Oh, and there is a few deer that visit the park daily that will eat treats right from your hand! We camped at Pine Forest RV Park in a Motorhome.

We just stayed one night - but glad we did. The area is beautiful and the campground reflects that. The sites were spacious and since we were extremely tired of being stacked like sardines for the last 3 weeks this was wonderful. There was a huge green space between each site that in another world would have had at least 1 if not 2 other RVs in it. The people were super nice, the views beautiful, the campground clean, well maintained and spacious. We were far back off of highway 191 and had not a bit of road noise - another welcome relief from the past 3 weeks. Hookups were convenient and worked well. Our site 6 was probably the most level of the pull-throughs and our leveling system handled it just fine. Not so much for many of the other sites around us. The Class C next to us had his front end tires at least 18" off the ground. We would stay again and like to come back for a few days to explore the area. Oh yes - big rig friendly for sure. No problem with 42' towing a pickup truck. The entry road was only wide enough for one but we didn't meet anyone coming or going. We camped at Pine Forest RV Park in a Motorhome.
