Park is older with smaller sites but recently remodeled and in excellent condition. Everything is very clean. No park full timers, very quiet. The owner is very knowledgeable of the surrounding areas and sites. The owner and staff are the nicest people you will run into. I would stay here again! We camped at Canyons of Escalante RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice park to use as a base for excursions in the surrounding area. Wifi was smoking hot which was really appreciated. Very nice laundry and "outhouse" facilities. Escalante is small and most of it is within easy walking distance. The hosts are very friendly and provided much information about local sights and activities. Sites are gravel but fairly level and no traffic noise at night. We camped at Canyons of Escalante RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

There is an organic food store nearby that is somewhat pricey but with a fantastic selection for a small town and French baguettes baked fresh daily that are just killer. The Escalante River Canyon hike is amazing and if it is slot canyons you want, go to Spooky and Peek-a-Boo down the Hole in the Rock Road (a lot of washboard and dust but well worth the drive). The Calf Creek falls are beautiful but can be crowded (at least they were on good Friday).

This is a clean, quiet park. Sites are non-level dirt and gravel in various lengths. Some sites have trees, but little shade. A few sites have picnic tables. Voltage is OK. Roads are dirt and gravel in very good condition.
WiFi is strong. I measured 1132.3 kB/s down. Sharing is enabled, and I saw several of my neighbors' computers available on mine, so make sure you have sharing set the way you want it.
I could get 2 bars Verizon LTE with an external antenna and booster, but never usable Internet access.
Laundry: 4 front-loaders ($3.50-4.50), 5 working dryers ($0.25 for 5-8 minutes).
There are 4 showers on the men's side, one accessible. Showers are clean and private, but rather small.
Terrestrial broadcast TV: ABC CBS CW FOX ION NBC PBS.
Staff are friendly and helpful. We camped at Canyons of Escalante RV Park in a Motorhome.

The sites are very close together and pretty short. It was difficult parking our TV without partially blocking our neighbors. Wifi was good. We experienced a couple of low power situations where our EMS shut down to prevent problems. Staff person blamed the problem on the local power source. Other than that, the staff was friendly and helpful regarding the area and town facilities. We camped at Canyons of Escalante RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Most sights in Escalante National Monument are a long way from town on a washboard gravel road. Escalante Petrified Forest State Park has a nice trail for hiking.

This is an adequate campground for a stay in Escalante. It's another of those cases where it's the best choice in town (if you want FHUs), although the popularity of Escalante is growing and a new RV park was under construction at the west end of town. Sites are narrow, dirt, and a little unlevel, but there are trees for shade. There is no good place to walk the dog other than the parks narrow dirt roads. We saw quite a few bicyclers from Europe and the campground was full. As for communicating with the outside world, Verizon was 1x but the campground wifi was astonishingly fast. We camped at Canyons of Escalante RV Park in a Motorhome.

Very clean and being renovated. Lovely and they are trying to upgrade it. The WiFi was excellent. Plenty to see and do around there.

Major drawback is that the spaces are VERY close. We camped at Canyons of Escalante RV Park in a Motorhome.

A very nice RV park on the west side of Escalante. It is a small park that has shorter pull throughs on one side and longer pull throughs in the middle. Our 39 foot coach fit in the site but the toad needed to be parked sideways at the front or back of the site. A very quiet park and well kept. The restrooms and showers are very nice and clean. The park is very convenient to all the sights in the area. It was easy to get in and out of the park. The wifi was pretty good - the best we have had in a long time. The connections were conveniently located. We were able to position our satellite dish to get good reception. We camped at Canyons of Escalante RV Park in a Motorhome.

The hike to lower Calf Creek Falls was great. We drove on the Hells Backbone road and it was a great drive. We hiked to the Zebra slot and the scenery on the way was amazing.

Very nice park right in Escalante. Friendly staff. Spaces are a little tight, but staggered so most have a view. Views are better at the back. Great central point to see highway 12, hike lower calf creek. Laundry was expensive, but machines are oversized and do a good job. Would stay here again. We camped at Canyons of Escalante RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Circle D restaurant right next door has good food and excellent beer selection. Burr Trail Road was especially beautiful. Wouldn't go down Hole in the Rock road again - very rough and Devil's gardens are nice, but many other hoodoos in the vicinity. Petrified Forest state park has a nice and fairly challenging hike to overviews of escalante - about 3 miles round trip.

This campground is very convenient to all the attractions of the Grand Staircase - Escalante National Monument. In fact, the owner is quite knowledgeable about the monument and is willing to advise visitors.
The actual campsites are adequate, with full hookups and mostly pull-through sites. On the other hand, the sites are very narrow - you will be just a few feet away from your neighbor. Access is reasonable, assuming you know how to drive your own rig! The laundry seems very expensive, but the machines are very large industrial grade, so overall the price is reasonable if you do a very large load. WiFi was very good, in fact upgraded during our stay, but a bit overloaded during busy times. Note that the town of Escalante does have a grocery store, but it is small and expensive. Stock up before arriving!
Overall, this was a good place to stay. Our rate is Good Sam. We would stay here again. We camped at Canyons of Escalante RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The young man who checked us in was very professional and provided very good information for us regarding Grand Staircase-Escalante. The site was fine but a little narrow, essentially no "outside" space for you to enjoy. Just enough for our rig, so no patio, picnic table, etc. There was a little shade. Easy to pick up lots of over the air TV stations. Free WiFi worked well. Restrooms and showers were very clean and nice. The laundry was nice but they only had large capacity washers at $3.50 or $4.00 per load. Driveways and sites are gravel/dirt. We camped at Canyons of Escalante RV Park in a Motorhome.

Very helpful people(owner). WiFi free and worked great. Laundromat, showers very clean & well maintained. Pull thru sites narrow, but wide enough for slides on both sides. All gravel surface but smooth and well cared for. Very neat campground in nice small town. We camped at Canyons of Escalante RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Sites are somewhat short and narrow and not level but adequate for short stays. We used outdoor rugs to cover the bare ground next to our trailer thereby limiting the amount of dirt which our dogs carried into our trailer.

We asked for and were assigned a site with good satellite reception. Wi-Fi was good and much better than at many major RV parks we have stayed in during this trip. Very strong water pressure and good quality water. Jason at the office gave us helpful advice and maps to explore this beautiful area. We camped at Canyons of Escalante RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
