We had a very nice site in a quiet area with a lot of grass. The lake is beautiful and our site was a short walk to the lake. The downside to this park is that they do not enforce the rules. There were many dogs off leash, sites were overloaded with tents, rigs, with large groups staying in one site. Check out time is 11:00, yet we saw people lingering and checking out as late as 3:00pm. We arrived the weekend after Labor Day. The park, especially close to the lake, was jam packed. We were looking forward to Sunday noon to a quieter setting. This did not happen until around 3:00. Since it was after Labor Day, the store across the street was closed for the season, and the resort does not have any items for sale at all, which seemed odd since they are supposed to be a resort. I walked 4 miles one way to a store because we needed milk. All this being said, we would return to this resort on a weekday to give them another try even though they are a private resort and there are limited times folks like us who are not members can visit. We camped at Blue Water Resort in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: June, 2013 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

The staff is friendly, courteous, and helpful. This is a membership park that apparently accepts "public campers" (at a "discouraging" rate/day). On the plus side, this is an RPI park, and our rate reflects our RPI membership. The access road is poorly identified: there is a sign along the highway that is of value only to SOUTH bound travelers; that sign says "Hotel on the Beach" in big letters followed by "@ Blue Water Resort" in very small print beneath. The signs on the gate post are almost invisible and read "Blue Water Beach". There is no security although everyone entering the property must do so through the gate or via the beach/water. The sites are large, level, beautifully grassed and VERY, VERY well maintained. Lots of healthy, mature trees, none of which presents a driving hazard. The park sits on the shore of Bear Lake and offers boat launching and fueling, SeaDoo rentals, swimming, horseshoes, etc. In addition to the RV sites, cabins and condos, there is a beachfront hotel. Interior roads are gravel and are treated to keep the dust down. A majority of the RV sites are "shared utilities" making many of the sites "nose in for motorhomes" (thus giving a motorhome windshield a view of another RV). A public paved walking/biking path runs in front of the park. There is a small convenience store directly across the street from the park and a very good dinner/playhouse within walking distance. Good AT&T service. We asked for and were given a site that permitted good Dish satellite reception. Wi-fi "comes and goes" and there are only two antennas for this entire park. Unlike some RPI/membership parks we have been in, this membership park treated us as if we were park members. Fantastic weather and lots to do and see in area. We would gladly stay here for a few days again. This is a family park: kids everywhere, drive carefully! We camped at Blue Water Resort in a Motorhome.
