We had one of the nicer back in sites (#4) for the shade and distance from the road. Sites are level gravel with grass, picnic table, and fire ring. Near the freeway, but pretty quiet. We stayed there while hiking in San Rafael Swell. Are planning to be back in the fall, and will stay at KOA again. We camped at Green River KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Big rig friendly, solid overnight stop. Easy on and off I-70 but far enough away to be quiet. Long level site so we didn't have to disconnect. You can walk to both a good restaurant as well as an interesting museum. It was really windy while we were there, and yes, it was dusty, but we have seen a lot worse. We camped at Green River KOA in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

The people were very nice. We did not use the pool but it looked good. The free continental breakfast was very good as others have mentioned. Our site was our first experience with a "buddy site". Our door faced the door of the fifth wheel next to us. The picnic tables for both sites were between our rigs.It was OK but I think I prefer the usual arrangement that offers a bit of privacy. The roads are easy to negotiate. We stayed at some beautifully landscaped places on our two month trip. Some of those had roads that were more difficult to negotiate due to plantings and rock placement. DH is an excellent driver but this park being in the high desert as it is offered no difficulties concerning the roads and the sites as there was nothing to interfere with your passage. I would not expect them to use a lot of valuable water to grow grass. I suppose it could be dusty there. It was not an issue during our visit. Our site was big and level. There are beautiful views out the back of the CG. We were there two days and then moved on to Moab. We camped at Green River KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Very nice park way off the main road so no noise at night. Nice space that was level. Good water pressure and full hook-up, but we were there for just one night so didn't use the sewer. Lots of stars. Staff was very nice, and the store looked well-stocked. Pool looked nice with water slide. This appears to be a stop-over camp because everyone was gone when we got up. Will stay here again. We camped at Green River KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Not much to do in Green River, but be sure to go out to Goblin Valley on Highway 24, two exits from Green River turnoff. Truck Stop at Sinclair Station has great food. We have eaten there twice. Green River is known for their melons, so be sure to buy one. We got a watermelon but they have other choices. Vetere's Melons.

We stayed at the park overnight. It is easy in and easy out. There is a nice pool and a restaurant at the entrance to the park. There are good places to walk the dog. The site was a pull through and just long enough for the coach and the car. The park facilities and grounds are well kept. We camped at Green River KOA in a Motorhome.

Interior roads are rough. They have not put any gravel down to help control the dust. Lots are spacious with a sunny/open exposure. Site surface is dirt and features a fire ring and picnic table. Park not up to what we expect from KOA at a premium price. We camped at Green River KOA in a Motorhome.

Dusty, hot, dated bathrooms, expensive, no desirable features to mention. That utilities worked is as positive as I can be. There have to be better places to stay in Green River. Sorry we didn't find one. We camped at Green River KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Campsite was large and shady. There was room between you and your neighbor's site; we weren't crammed in. Campground was all grass which was great for walking our dog. There was a cow pasture across the way and you could hear the cows mooing. It was enjoyable to sit outside at night and listen to them. We would stay at this park again if we're in the area. We camped at Green River KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Stayed here a week to explore Moab and the National Parks. It's a quiet park, mostly sand at the 50 amp sites. There is no dog park only walking area around the perimeter with some grass. They do offer breakfast with pastries and hard boiled eggs. Utilities are not ideally placed, they're at the front of the site. We smelled the cows next to us every day and sometimes a sewer odor throughout the park. A train is near yet not annoying. While rules say no pets in the buildings the employees have their dogs in the office and laundry. Also not all their golf carts abide by the speed limit! We camped at Green River KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

This is convenient to three National Parks. Grocery shopping is limited and none within 50 miles. The Blimpies sandwiches were good for picnics. The restaurant next door offers a 10% discount while staying here.

So this probably isn't the fanciest place to stay in this part of the country, but it is the best if you want access to the San Rafael Swell. We were assigned a misshapen location, but the lady in front was very accommodating about changing it. The layout is a little confusing, but not many here so was no problem for us. The electricity is good (makes AC great), water good, the sewer hookup was a little funky and did get a discount for gas and extras at their store. They have car/RV wash near, laundromat (didn't use), and general store (didn't use). It was quiet and places for dogs to run and also cleanly kept dog runs. We would stay here again for the location. We camped at Green River KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The San Rafael Swell is a geological bonanza. If you like slot canyons there are lots here. Be prepared to hike some distances to get to them, and do your homework on where they are. Driving in the area can be really great especially coming from the west on I-70 just before you get to Green River when you pass through Spotted Wolf Canyon. Do take the view turnouts cause they are quite spectacular.

Traveled out west for 2 weeks. Stayed at 6 KOA Campgrounds. The KOA Green Rivers, UT was our favorite. Nice heater and A/C in our cabin. Cabin very clean. Campground clean, quiet and a farm in the back with cows mooing. This was so lovely. Management so gracious and friendly!! The even had a complimentary continental breakfast every morning. We had the chance to go once and were pleasantly surprised with the breakfast selection and delicious "very large" muffins. We hated to leave. This was the best campground on our journey!! Keep up the good work. Highly Recommend!!! We camped at Green River KOA in a Cabin.
