Looks more like a city park. Large trees, grass at the sites, very open. Sits next to a golf course but you really don't see the course. We camped at Green River State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Very nice folks in the check-in booth here.

The campground now has water at every site along with 50A electricity! All sites and roads are wide and paved with some pull-throughs. Beautiful cottonwood trees and patchy grass fill the campground and there is a boat launch for the Green River nearby (no river views). Some services and stores available in Green River, just 1/2 mile drive, but there is almost no traffic noise here. The train goes by several times a day, but it is not intrusive. Reservations are a good idea during the busy season (which extends well into October). Overall a very pleasant spot to explore Goblin Valley and the San Rafael Swell or to spend the night off I-70. We camped at Green River State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The little Mexican food truck on the Business 70 right across the street from the park road has great breakfast burritos.

Overall Rating:

Nice clean campground with cottonwood trees that give plenty of shade and nice green grass in the middle of the desert. RV site have 30/50 amp power, currently installing water at each site, no sewer. All sites are paved and level. Several pull thru sites for bigger rigs. Very friendly and helpful staff. There is a dump station and boat ramp. Nine hole city golf course in park. We camped at Green River State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Only 70 miles to Moab and Arches NP, great for day trip. John Westley Powell museum in Green River, very well done. If you are there from mid August to late September, buy a watermelon, that is the specialty of Green River.

Green River Utah is a nice and quite town, Only one food store and closed on Sundays. Plenty of gas and fuel stops.

This park is in a nice setting with paved roads, lots of grass and shade trees, the sites are a good size with pull-thrus and back-ins. There are 2 downsides. First, there is just electricity, no other hook-ups, not even water, but water is available throughout the park. Second, the park is poorly laid out making it confusing as to whether you should drive thru or back in to a site. Also the picnic tables are a long way from your RV and the opposite side from the fire pit. We camped at Green River State Park in a Motorhome.

Very nice state park park - not a resort, but an oasis in the UT desert. Paved roads and wide paved sites with table, patio, grass and trees with dry or elec only - no water or sewer at sites. Close to downtown and right on river and next to golf course. Well maintained, clean, nice, no game room, no club house, no pool, no wi-fi. Good Verizon cell and 4G signal in the area, no cable TV but good over the air TV. Direct TV satellite signal only in some sites due to lots of big trees. We camped at Green River State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

UT state park reservation fee $8 per reservation. Add fee to nightly site cost of $20 for dry site or $28 for elec only site.

We had to get a reservation because only 3 sites were left in the park a month before we arrived. So we paid $36/night for a state park site with no sewer hookup, when we had a full hook-up site at a much nicer New Mexico State Park for half that price! Then the pull-out site we got was too narrow for our slides when we put the door next to the curb. So I put out cones and left a driver's side light on all night to, hopefully, keep a late arriving motorcoach from sideswiping our slide. We won't be staying at Green River SP again, ever. We camped at Green River State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Stopped here for one night on our way back from the Grand Canyon and Mesa Verde areas. Nice spot along the river. In mid-March we had our choice of sites. No leaves on the trees but there was enough of them throughout the park that I would expect a little bit of shade in the warmer months. Washroom and shower facilities were decent. As with most state parks you have to be prepared and expect people to be pulling in at all hours but other than that it was mostly a quiet evening. Would stay here again. We camped at Green River State Park in a Motorhome.

Lovely park shaded by big cottonwoods in the middle of town. Paved roads and sites with lots of grassy space in between. Boat ramp nearby but separated from the campground. Dump station conveniently located for use by outsiders as well as campground guests. Good to know as many of the BLM campgrounds in the area have no dump. ACE hardware near the entrance sells propane and has plenty of space for large rigs. We camped at Green River State Park in a Motorhome.

Staff was great help. Sites were level and easy in and out for our big rig! We were only here a few days but if they had full hookups we would stay longer. Interesting area with very good museum in the town. We enjoyed out stay here and would definitely come back. We camped at Green River State Park in a Motorhome.

We thought this was quite a nice park. The campsites are very well spaced so as to make each site have some privacy - they are not crammed together at all. It is right next to a golf course and we camped in a very back space next to the golf course, which was not an issue. There is a train that comes at various times, I think once during the night. That took off a point as I couldn't go back to sleep right away after that. There was also a bit of an odd smell at our site but there was a big culvert there and we were a little close to a pond with green scum on it in the golf course - not the fault of the park of course. If there had been an option for 8.5, I would have given that. We would certainly stay here again. We camped at Green River State Park in a Motorhome.

Pretty basic but the price is right. Paved sites with lots of grass and enough mature cottonwoods to provide shade but no seclusion: all the sites are within view of pretty much all the other sites. I used it as a base camp for the attractions in Moab, which is a very expensive town, and would stay here again. We camped at Green River State Park in a Motorhome.

Nice state park at the edge of this small town. Golf course right by, boat put-in right by into the Green River. Campground is near but not right by the river. Sites for RVs and campground roads paved. Some unpaved tent sites. Most sites fairly level. Few pull-throughs. 30 amp power at site. Several water spigots scattered about, some threaded, many not. A well designed dump station near the boat put-in. Two bath houses with separate shower rooms from the toilets. Clean. Lots of cottonwood trees and grass. A good value for $25. A pleasant campground. Be sure and visit the well done and informative John Wesley Powell museum in town. We camped at Green River State Park in a Motorhome.

This is a popular park as a put in spot on the Green River, and so lots of young people in tents. There are very few pull-through sites and many of the back-in site are anything but level. There is a golf course next door, but dogs are not allowed and except for the campground loops there is very little space to walk a pet. It's a quiet park because it is far off the highway. Okay as a one night stop. We camped at Green River State Park in a Motorhome.

Great campground with 9 hole golf course. Large sites, paved roads and sites. Lots of grass and trees. The only downside is no water, cable or sewer at the site. They do have a dump. But we would stay here again when traveling through Green River. Rating is lower only because of the utilities. Otherwise it would be higher. We camped at Green River State Park in a Motorhome.
