This is a fantastic campground! The sites are huge and the views are beautiful! We had so much space and privacy and full hookups. The park is convenient to the town of St. George which has all the stores and restaurants you could want. It's about a 45 minute drive to Zion National Park. We also visited Snow Canyon State Park from here which was about 30 minutes away. Verizon worked very well here also. We camped at Sand Hollow State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Stayed in the Westside loop with full hook-ups. Lots of longer back-ins and pull-thrus. Stay up on the higher section and have some lake views. We loved riding our ATV on the sand dunes and trails. No shade in hot weather, but March was great. Pull-thrus long enough for very large motorhomes towing trailers or cars. We camped at Sand Hollow State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Very nice State Park campground. All sites on the west side are paved with ample room in pull throughs and back-ins, plus full hookups. Tables are covered with cement base. Higher sites have excellent views of the lake and the mountains/dunes. I highly recommend this CG. We camped at Sand Hollow State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Definitely rent an ATV/UTV and drive through the sand dunes. It's worth the price.

A decent state park. Several camping areas ranging from boondocking on the beach to full hookups. We stayed in the full hookup section. Nice decently large sites with a fair amount of separation between them. Fairly close to shopping including Costco if you need to stock up. The reservoir was nice and most areas except for the beach are dog friendly for some great swimming. The major downside if you're not into ATVs is that there are a LOT of noisy ATVs in the park and in the campground. About a 45 minute easy drive to Zion which is the main reason we stayed at this state park. Good Verizon signal and open sky for sattelite reception. We camped at Sand Hollow State Park in a Motorhome.

Lives up to its score. Beautifully level large blacktop sites. Lots of separation and an excellent spot to go see both sides of Zion from. Some beautiful sunsets from here. Lots of tv reception with out cable. If we were in the area would absolutely stay here. We camped at Sand Hollow State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Scenic campground, full hook-ups, clean restrooms and showers with generous sized sites with good amount of space between. Lake area is beautiful as well with many day-use weekend visitors. Also very close to OHV area with ATV rentals available to zoom around the sand dunes.

We were here during monsoon season, and the weather can change in an instant! Of the three days were were here, we watched the storms brewing and got walloped on one of the three. The storms are a mix of wind (red sand) with torrential rain, thunder, and lightening with the added bonus of a rainbow or two! We are estimating the winds were about 30 mph with some stronger gusts. The temperature started at 97 degrees and within a half hour had plummeted to 66 degrees.

Pay attention to the weather! We camped at Sand Hollow State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

We were having a cooling issue with our Dodge Diesel 3500 and stopped by K & W Auto & Collision in Hurricane (435-703-6835). The guys there really spoke the language of Dodge Diesel Cummins. They had some pretty tweaked-out trucks of their own, so they knew what they were talking about. Within minutes they had diagnosed the problem and within a couple of hours had us back on our way. Honest, hardworking bunch of guys!

I'll start by saying we could fit two 37' RV's in our pull-thru site and still have room for my tow. Asphalt pad and roads, excellent full hookups, and SPACE between each site. New alum. picnic table with metal canopy at each site. Panoramic view of surrounding hills and lake. One of THE best campsites I've ever been in...for under $75. If not for the showers I would rate this a 9.5. Showers? They are CLEAN. Bad news is that they are push button. Further, a push give you 10 seconds!!! So ya push and push and change thumbs so as not to develope one thumb bigger than the other. Oh...and no shade...to block your beautiful view!!!! Too bad I live a 1,000 miles away or I'd be here most weekends. Thanks Sand Hollow State Park. We stayed on top of the hill in site #23. We camped at Sand Hollow State Park in a Motorhome.

Wow, what a beautiful place! The campground is adjacent to a lake and is surrounded by mountains. The sites in the Westside Campground have full hookups (water, 50 amp electric, and sewer). The park is big rig friendly and easy in/easy out. Entry road and campground roads are paved. Sites are asphalt and nicely spaced, with most looking to be relatively level, but one site in particular (site 39) has a slope at the front of the site that would make it a difficult site for motor homes. There are back in and pull through sites. There isn't any privacy between sites and there is no shade, but all sites offer great views. There is a covered picnic table, fire ring and grill at each site. Services were conveniently located and all functioned properly. Verizon voice/data worked well. There were approximately 15 OTA channels. The campground is located just outside of Hurricane, with St. George being about 10 miles away. There is a place on site that rents ATVs and pontoon boats. We camped at Sand Hollow State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There is a Walmart approx. 5 miles from the campground. Harmon's in St. George is a fantastic grocery store (reminded me of Wegman's, for those of you who are familiar with Wegman's).

This is a beautiful state park with flat paved sites, with well functioning full hookups. Each site has a barbeque grill, and a shelter for protection against the sun or rain. There is plenty of space to park a car as well as the RV. The sight of the surrounding mesas and mountains is gorgeous. This campsite was so beautiful and perfect, that I can find nothing could do to make it better. We camped at Sand Hollow State Park in a Motorhome.

Nightly rate was $28 plus $8 reservation fee so for 2 nites, brought it to $32/nite. This is a beautiful and picturesque state park with recreation for everyone; camping, fishing, biking, hiking, equestrian, boating and OHV dune riding. Our site was a large pull-thru with door opening to interior of site at the veranda-covered picnic table (not on road as prior camper experienced) with hook-ups conveniently placed that worked well. Interior roads and sites were asphalt; very clean. Easy in-easy out, with lots of room between sites. Would definitely stop again. We camped at Sand Hollow State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

A very nice state park with new paved roads and camp sites. All sites have 30/50 amp power and water. Very spacious sites all along a hill side. Very clean and modern state park that can handle big rigs. Mostly pull thurs with some back in sites. Only disadvantage to some of the pull thrus is your door has to open to the road. Some staff members are young and inexperienced, but a very helpful camp host. We camped at Sand Hollow State Park in a Motorhome.

We love this campground with 50 amp full hookups. The site was level and very spacious. No shade except under canopy over picnic table. We came in right after the previous campers and the campground hosts were right there, cleaning it. It was very hot while we were there and we didn't have a boat, as many of the other campers did. Last time we were here, we came in early October and the temperatures were more moderate. We camped at Sand Hollow State Park in a Fifth Wheel.
