If you are here to go to Dinosaur National Monument, this park has full hookups, fairly level sites and reasonable prices. It is a buck extra if you use a credit card. Although the highway frontage is a well kept lawn, sites are all gravel, no picnic tables or trees. A utilitarian campground for a specific purpose. Wifi, when it worked, was very, very slow, apparently due to a dispute with the local phone company. This is not a place to recline outside drinking wine and eating snacks. We camped at Outlaw Trail RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

This is not a town, but a tired looking settlement with a new state visitor center, a closed gas station and a greasy spoon restaurant food for breakfast.

Handy to Dinosaur National Monument. Nice park, gravel sites. Very clean restrooms and laundry. The management staff is very pleasant to deal with. Offered an extra discount for cash rather than credit card. We camped at Outlaw Trail RV Park in a Motorhome.

I have stayed at the park time and time again over the past 5 years because we have family out there. Yes they do not have a lot of trees just yet but they did, I was told by a park employee they got a disease which killed the trees, something that could not be controlled and are working on fixing but trees take time to grow. They have large bathrooms with HUGE showers that yes cost quarters but 1 quarter is 5 mins and I can afford that for the care they take in their facility. They have an amazing laundry room as well, soda machine, snack machine, they even have wi-fi and the closest RV park to the monument. I will tell you this, I price check every where I stay and they were the best price as well as the best value even though they don't use discounts and are not affiliated with any groups. Yes they do keep a few signs up but I have dealt with CS and for every sign my employer had ever put up it was usually because someone did something to cause it. I have seen the changes in the park these last few years and I say this to the owners, kudos to all your hard work. Cant wait to come visit next year! We camped at Outlaw Trail RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Ask about the petroglyhs, Josie's Cabin, the monument and the little town Vernal as they have a Dinosaur Museum in town as well and a Heritage Museum ( free to go to). My family and I have also checked out the rafting people next door and they have AMAZING packages of course now I cant think of the name now that I am home lol. I loved the fact it had a playground for kids to keep busy and they have horse shoes and volleyball there as well.

This RV park is the closest one to Dinosaur National Monument. It was a welcome sight for us because the campground in the monument had no electric sites and it was quite hot when we visited. We chose Outlaw RV because full hook-up, level gravel sites were available for a reasonable price. The owner was very friendly and we slept very well here because it was so quiet. The laundry was absolutely spotless and decorated nicely. Tent sites in a grassy area looked comfortable and spacious. I recommend this RV park to anyone visiting Dinosaur National Monument as a great alternative to camping inside the monument. We camped at Outlaw Trail RV Park in a Motorhome.

Out Law Trails

Let me start off by saying I did not stay here, but I wanted to let people know what to expect should they choose to head to Out Law Trails "campground" You will find a large gravel parking lot, with rows and rows of power pole what they call campsites. There are no trees so it's going to be hot and dry. Also people living there in anything from RV to old mobile homes. It is the closest campground to Dinosaur National Park, but there are some other places to choose from you just have to drive little futher. We camped at Outlaw Trail RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is the closest park to Dinosaur National Monument's Quarry entrance (6 miles). Its also got a solid amount of gravel so it won't turn into a mud hole if it rains. The place is cluttered with rusting debris, and a permanent resident trailer park surrounds the transient sites. The bathrooms are clean. BUT. The camp staff lock the bathroom at 10pm every night and a posted sign says the bathrooms open again at 6am. At 9am I tried to use it and it was locked, I had to find the camp host's trailer, knock on the door, and get him to open it. The showers are run by quarters too. As if $40 for the campground fee wasn't enough to pay them. The bathrooms have long lists of printed rules and regulations posted with exclamation marks at the end of each one. Too bad they can't follow their own simple rule for unlocking the bathroom at the posted time. We camped at Outlaw Trail RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Great staff checking in, helping, and keeping the park nice looking and clean. Showers/restrooms (uses quarters), laundry clean. All gravel, grass in play area. Good spacing and hookups work well. Some long term, but clean. 7 miles from Dinosaur National Park. No trees. We would stay here again. We camped at Outlaw Trail RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Park address is: 1900 S 2800 W, Vernal, UT 84078. Very basic park. Nothing wrong with it, just do not expect to be pampered here. I only saw a high school girl cleaning the bathrooms, no other staff was present. Cash only. Several of the RV sites had issues with either no electrical or no water or sewer issues. We were able to get in one of the eight or so 50 amp sites. There may have been eight total RVs in the park that were not residents. The bathrooms were nice, $0.25 shower for 3 minutes. On the plus side, if you do not want to dry camp in the National Park, this RV park is about 10 minutes away. I would stay here for an overnight again if I needed / wanted electrical service. Verizon cell phone worked fine, but no Wi-Fi in the park. We camped at Outlaw Trail RV Park in a Motorhome.

Don't stay here. The park was very dirty, no weeds had been cut, no blown around trash picked up, mostly permanent residents with run down trailers or fifth wheels with all their junk outside. Residents were surly and resentful of overnighters with nice motorhomes. We camped at Outlaw Trail RV Park in a Motorhome.

Used my Passport America rate as there was no one in the office to take my money. I never did see anyone in the office, was told he works elsewhere during the day. Was told campground is for sale and owner is not putting any money into it. LOTS of full-time residents...some a bit scary. I was surprised how clean the restrooms and showers were being that the rest of the park looked like a dump...they weren't spotless, just surprised. Only stopped for an overnight, and that's all I'd recommend it for. Wi-fi did work, so that and the restrooms are why it gets this high of a rating. We camped at Outlaw Trail RV Park in a Motorhome.

Camp is right at the turn off to the Dinosaur Quarry national Monument. Lots of permanents working in the area. Staff very friendly and helpful. Gravel sites that were easily leveled. Short on ambiance but a safe place to spend the night after a long day when the National Monument campground is closed. We camped at Outlaw Trail RV Park in a Motorhome.

Rates are whatever you want to negotiate. They claim to offer Escapees discount, but don't know who or what they are. Claim to be Passport America, but rates are no where near what directory says (they are much higher than all of the Camping Directories. This is okay for a one-night stand, but would never stay here again. Sites are level on large gravel. Park is POORLY maintained. Park is within 3 miles to the entrance to Dinosaur National Park. Lots of extended stay units (probably oil/gas field workers). No shade trees. We camped at Outlaw Trail RV Park in a Motorhome.
