Overall Rating:

Basic campground with full hook up sites. We stayed overnight and could have Wallydocked up the street however the forecast was predicting 20 degrees overnight and the FHU with 50 amp was appealing. (It was 18 degrees at 8am). The access is easy, check in parking was OK for one at a time. The sites are split with back in near the store and pull thrus in the area adjacent in the rear. Some pull thrus are short, others are longer. The hook ups are located between adjacent sites. (So your neighbor could be the opposite way). We were the only one in the entire campground. The water pressure was high, recommend a pressure value. The area including the sites are gravel and have a slight slope. Laundry on site was $1.50 for wash/dry. The store has a good variety of supplies and gas, no diesel through. We checked in with the staff who was very helpful. She told us to pick any site we wanted. No wifi or cable, but we were able to get over 20 OTA channels. Overall, not a fancy place but adequate for a short stay. We camped at Flying U Country Store and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Capitol Reef NP is about 1.5 hours. Fremont Indian SP is a 15 min drive. Richfield is 10 miles, has Walmart, Home Depot, Pilot/Flying J and several restaurants. For a quick and cheap eat, try Bullies in Monroe. Burger place with a vintage decor.

We love the big trees and the location for riding our Polaris Razor. Quiet park close to shopping. The little convenience store here in the park is handy to gas up, get something hot to eat, or do the laundry. We have stayed here 3 times and will keep coming back! We camped at Flying U Country Store and RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed 1 night passing through the area. The park is a short drive from I-70 (Exit 25) along a paved 2 lane rural road into the center of the very small town. The transition from the street into the park was not the smoothest but was manageable. Check in is accomplished in the convenience store but registration parking is limited and tight. The interior roads and site parking pads are compacted gravel. Some of the turns were tight and the arrangement of the sites to the road required making 2 loops through the small park to get properly aligned for utility connections.

All of the sites are pull throughs. Some of the P/T's were just long enough to remain connected to the toad and the others were wide enough to park 2 vehicles abreast if needed. As the park was built on sloping field, it showed the park didn't completely understand the simple concept of the importance of a flat, level site as some of the sites had a slight 2 directional pitch potentially creating a possible leveling issue. They have full hook ups: water, electricity (50/30/20 AMP), & sewer. The utility connections were generally at the middle of the site. The sewer connect was slightly elevated but it wasn't too difficult to establish a downhill flow. Distance establishes privacy between the sites but the sites were generally close.

There were a few wooden outside tables scattered around the park so each didn't have a table and there were no fire pits. A few trees scattered around the park so satellite reception was dependent on site selection or assignment. The park didn't offer any cable channels and there was no mention of any broadcast channels on the limited park information material. Didn't try to get any broadcast channels. The park did not provide WiFi. Our Verizon WiFi hotspot worked well. Didn't try the NET10 phone so don't know about the reception.

There was no designated fenced pet area. There was adequate space along the park's road to exercise a dog. We would stay here again for an overnight stop only. We camped at Flying U Country Store and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

For being in a hazardous/severe weather area, there was no underground storm shelter. None of the structures in the park were identified as a severe weather shelter.

Seems we just missed an ATV event that had filled the park so call ahead to check on site availability as there are only a handful of sites (maybe less than 20).

All gravel lot with some flower pots here and there. While we were here it was 100 degrees both days some sites had shade trees which helped with the heat. Overall clean and very friendly staff. All hook ups worked well and were maintained. We camped at Flying U Country Store and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

No frills campground but right on the Candy Mt Expressway bikepath. Pleasant and knowledgeable reception area which also served as a mini store, restaurant (very basic) and cashier for the single gas pump outside. Gravel drives and sites, mostly level. Power for our 30a unit was 117 - 119v; water pressure adequate but not overwhelming; possibly new site dump lines as all appeared spanking clean. Verizon service worked well. Did not use or explore laundry or rest rooms. ATV-ing is popular in this area as there are some well know trails close by and many campgrounds advertise this so be wary of the time of year you chose to stay if you don't want them buzzing through camp (no such issues here!). Would stay here again but may look for a place in Richfield just up the road for more services if returning soon. We camped at Flying U Country Store and RV Park in a Motorhome.

45 South State Street 84739, just a few blocks off I-70 at exit 25. 435-527-4758. Small park behind a country store. The owner was friendly and invited us to come to the store in the morning for a freshly cooked breakfast at a very reasonable price. This park was great for an overnight when we were traveling west from Colorado to Nevada. Joseph is in the desert, but we had a nice shade tree and a good picnic table at our FHU pull through site. We chose one of the longer sites toward the back of the park; there were several shorter sites closer to the store as well. We did not use the restrooms or showers. No WiFi or cable included but several channels available using the antenna. We camped at Flying U Country Store and RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

High rating due to price. All 50amp pull thru sites. Owner told us to pick a site and let her know which one. No cable or wifi, but for the price this is an excellent park. Nice views. Nice little camp store, dvd rentals. We camped at Flying U Country Store and RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Clean, not crowded, RV park. Friendly owners, very helpful. Love the country/rural setting. Ended up staying two months. Only 15 miles south of Richfield where you can eat at cozy cafes and shop. The rate is based on the monthly rate. We will definitely come here again! We camped at Flying U Country Store and RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This used to be an RV park; now it is a trailer park catering to permanents. Junk around old trailers. Firepits being filled with trash that blows around when the wind comes up. Laundry is dirty and is open to the public. Beginning about 4:30am the young workers start leaving in their loud obnoxious trucks. We camped at Flying U Country Store and RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Small park with friendly people. No grass but there is a city park a couple of blocks away with a nice grass area. There is some shade but the sites are very short in this area. There is a very large area in the back part of the park that can accommodate the largest of rigs. Nice (a bit dusty) for an overnight but met folks that came for a night and stayed much longer. I've seen from other sources that there is a restaurant but this is a snack bar type area in the store/gas station. We camped at Flying U Country Store and RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
