We made reservations for 2 pull through sites side by side 6 months prior to arrival. When we arrived we were told one pull through front row and one back in, in the back row. We were told that's what we reserved and the office staff doesn't make mistakes and if we don't like it we can leave. There was nothing available in other campsites due to things going on in town so we chose to stay and make the best of it. We asked if could look to see if anything available side by side they were not willing to even check to see. It is close to town and Arches Park but will not go back due to the attitude of the office staff. We camped at Portal RV Resort and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

We stayed on the campground side. The resort side has huge paved roads & large paved sites plus a pool/hot tub. But you pay $13 more per night for the resort side too. The campground side is perfectly acceptable even for big rigs. Sites are about 70' long, level & gravel with about 15-20' between sites. No fire rings. The park stayed pretty full so definitely get a reservation. The sewer system backed up while we were there but they were working on fixing it. Park wifi & cable TV worked fine. Both Verizon & ATT had strong signals. They don't honor Good Sam but they do offer an AARP 10% discount. Satellite will be good on most sites unless you stay on the resort side and get a site beside one of the 3 story tall condos. As far as location goes, this park can't be beat. We camped at Portal RV Resort and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Resort side is excellent and worth every penny. If you have a coach over 10 years old be prepared to email them photos, but they let us in. The campground side is also great and we have stayed MANY times. Great wifi and Verizon 4G. Right near everything. Views in every direction. Overall Rating:

This is one of the best RV Parks we have ever stayed in. The sites in the resort section are cement and roomy enough for the largest motor homes.
Our site had a cement pad for the motor home, a cement pergola covered patio, and a cement pad for the toad, and there was still plenty of room. The Wi fi was exceptional, the best we have ever had at an R park. The pool and hot tub were wonderful. It is convenient to Arches and Canyon Lands NP and Moab. The staff is friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay here again. We camped at Portal RV Resort and Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We had a lovely dinner at Red Cliffs Lodge. The setting overlooks the Colorado River and the Red Cliffs. The food was delicious. There is a small museum at the restaurant pertaining to the history of the movie industry in the Moab area.

This is a very nice park convenient to the national parks and Moab. The streets are wide and easily navigable. The grounds are well kept and very clean. There were few campers mid August and it was very quiet. The office help was friendly and answered my questions with excellent recommendations. Highly recommend the GyPSy Guide app to talk you through driving tours of Arches and Canyonlands National Parks. We loved learning about the parks and park sites as we drove and toured at our own pace. We named the guide (voice) "Bob" and must admit that we miss Bob now that we've moved on.

C&C's Mobilewash did an excellent job washing our motorhome at our park site.

Loved the guided RZR tour with High Point.

We stayed in the resort section for 4 nights. We had a wide pull thru site that easily parked our 45' motorhome and car. It also had patio area with a pergola providing some shade. The grandkids loved the pool, playground and an area in back they rode their bikes on. The location is ideal for seeing all that Moab has to offer. The entrance to the resort is difficult to see. We passed it on the way in and had to turn around and come back. We camped at Portal RV Resort and Campground in a Motorhome.

This park is divided into two sections. The side with large, paved lots, nice restrooms and a pool, is the side where people actually own the sites. This is the side we stayed on. The dog park is large and very well maintained, as is the rest of the park. There is a small swimming lake on the other side, where the sites are gravel and smaller. This side also has older bathrooms/showers, but are kept cleaned. This campground is close to town, and both Arches and Canyonlands National Parks. We stayed here 5 nights and although pricey, we would definitely stay here again. We camped at Portal RV Resort and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Would have been a 10 if the WiFi worked. Verizon signal worked well. We stayed in the resort section. 80% are beautifully landscaped. Spa and pool were clean and respectively hot and cool. If you want access to the spa and pool, you must stay in the resort section. It's worth it, but motor homes need to be 10 yrs 'young' and 5th wheels, 5 yrs. Campground section had long pull thru spots that were nice, but no pool access - a drag in the summer. Website, and of course, satellite map pics are accurate. Be careful not to miss the long driveway entrance to the park. Currently, look for the big blue and orange billboard with "Portal RV" and an arrow on it. Nice views of the rocks and mnts. Tips for other Campers:

Moab Brewery has good food. The Love Muffin cafe has delicious organic fare. Moonflower market for organic food. City Market for regular groceries. Do the Fiery Furnace ranger guided hike at Arches - contrary to it's name, it is the shadiest place in the park. First come, first served for afternoon hikes a couple days in advance - morning hikes are booked months in advance. There are some physical challenges on the hike; the ranger will review them when you go to reserve tickets ($10 charge). Visited Canyonlands from this location. Steep, switchback jeep trail down from Canyonlands visitor center to Moab.

Came in on a busy weekend and they where great on changing my site. Very clean and easy to get around with the rig. Convenient to town. No pool but a pond to swim in. Over priced for the value. Watch out for the taxes on top of your rate. It will add another $5 to your fee. We camped at Portal RV Resort and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful campground. We stayed in the "campground" side, not the "resort" side. The landscaping is very attractive in the campground side, and lush and beautiful in the resort side. Everyone was very friendly and helpful to us. The big thing we will remember about our stay was the mechanical failure we experienced as we were leaving after our two-day stay. As we pulled to a curb to hook up the tow car, the motorhome died. We could not move, and had to have a part FedExed from L.A. During the two days we waited for the part, we were parked in a spot inconvenient for the campground's operation but the owner could not have been nicer or more helpful. That kind of service and friendliness when you are having a "situation" is something you will remember! We camped at Portal RV Resort and Campground in a Motorhome.

If you are in their "Resort" section it rates a 12! Fantastic with pool, spa, great showers and very spacious and landscaped spots. Excellent wi-fi. If you are in their "Campground" it rates an 8, good but tight spaces. We had to move around almost every day (stayed five days) but that is just because the park is so popular. Definitely requires reservations. Overall, this is a great park with wonderful views and close to fun things to do. We camped at Portal RV Resort and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

I wish all RV parks were this nice! I stayed in the owners side for 2 nights and it was a great place to be based out of to explore the area. The site was a long, concrete pull through with landscaping between sites. There was a nice amount of space between units and ample parking for vehicles once you're unhooked. The streets are asphalt and the park is very easy to navigate. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. Traveling alone, I felt very safe there and had helpful neighbours. I will definitely stay there again when in the area! We camped at Portal RV Resort and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

C&C Mobile RV wash did a great job on the trailer while I was there so I didn't have to try to find a car wash big enough to fit my 40' 5er.

We stayed 35 days at Portal because we LOVE this campground and Moab. We attended the FMCA 4-Wheelers Rally in the campground area with our 2 sons and wives and were able to have 3 sites right next to each other. The owners are extremely accommodating. The bathrooms are CLEAN and the Wi-Fi is excellent. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. Whether you stay in the campground or BEAUTIFUL resort area you will be well taken care of and you will absolutely love the views. Happy RVing! Very nice park with a lovely view. Convenient to town of Moab and to both national parks without being in the middle of downtown traffic. Beautifully maintained. Sites very close together but easy to get in and out. Adequate space to walk dogs plus a fenced dog park. Good wifi and TV reception. Would stay again if we ever get back to that area.
