Overall Rating:

Would have been a 10 if the WiFi worked. Verizon signal worked well. We stayed in the resort section. 80% are beautifully landscaped. Spa and pool were clean and respectively hot and cool. If you want access to the spa and pool, you must stay in the resort section. It's worth it, but motor homes need to be 10 yrs 'young' and 5th wheels, 5 yrs. Campground section had long pull thru spots that were nice, but no pool access - a drag in the summer. Website, and of course, satellite map pics are accurate. Be careful not to miss the long driveway entrance to the park. Currently, look for the big blue and orange billboard with "Portal RV" and an arrow on it. Nice views of the rocks and mnts. We camped at Portal RV Resort and Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Moab Brewery has good food. The Love Muffin cafe has delicious organic fare. Moonflower market for organic food. City Market for regular groceries. Do the Fiery Furnace ranger guided hike at Arches - contrary to it's name, it is the shadiest place in the park. First come, first served for afternoon hikes a couple days in advance - morning hikes are booked months in advance. There are some physical challenges on the hike; the ranger will review them when you go to reserve tickets ($10 charge). Visited Canyonlands from this location. Steep, switchback jeep trail down from Canyonlands visitor center to Moab.

Came in on a busy weekend and they where great on changing my site. Very clean and easy to get around with the rig. Convenient to town. No pool but a pond to swim in. Over priced for the value. Watch out for the taxes on top of your rate. It will add another $5 to your fee. We camped at Portal RV Resort and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful campground. We stayed in the "campground" side, not the "resort" side. The landscaping is very attractive in the campground side, and lush and beautiful in the resort side. Everyone was very friendly and helpful to us. The big thing we will remember about our stay was the mechanical failure we experienced as we were leaving after our two-day stay. As we pulled to a curb to hook up the tow car, the motorhome died. We could not move, and had to have a part FedExed from L.A. During the two days we waited for the part, we were parked in a spot inconvenient for the campground's operation but the owner could not have been nicer or more helpful. That kind of service and friendliness when you are having a "situation" is something you will remember! We camped at Portal RV Resort and Campground in a Motorhome.

If you are in their "Resort" section it rates a 12! Fantastic with pool, spa, great showers and very spacious and landscaped spots. Excellent wi-fi. If you are in their "Campground" it rates an 8, good but tight spaces. We had to move around almost every day (stayed five days) but that is just because the park is so popular. Definitely requires reservations. Overall, this is a great park with wonderful views and close to fun things to do. We camped at Portal RV Resort and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

I wish all RV parks were this nice! I stayed in the owners side for 2 nights and it was a great place to be based out of to explore the area. The site was a long, concrete pull through with landscaping between sites. There was a nice amount of space between units and ample parking for vehicles once you're unhooked. The streets are asphalt and the park is very easy to navigate. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. Traveling alone, I felt very safe there and had helpful neighbours. I will definitely stay there again when in the area! We camped at Portal RV Resort and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

C&C Mobile RV wash did a great job on the trailer while I was there so I didn't have to try to find a car wash big enough to fit my 40' 5er.

We stayed 35 days at Portal because we LOVE this campground and Moab. We attended the FMCA 4-Wheelers Rally in the campground area with our 2 sons and wives and were able to have 3 sites right next to each other. The owners are extremely accommodating. The bathrooms are CLEAN and the Wi-Fi is excellent. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. Whether you stay in the campground or BEAUTIFUL resort area you will be well taken care of and you will absolutely love the views. Happy RVing! Very nice park with a lovely view. Convenient to town of Moab and to both national parks without being in the middle of downtown traffic. Beautifully maintained. Sites very close together but easy to get in and out. Adequate space to walk dogs plus a fenced dog park. Good wifi and TV reception. Would stay again if we ever get back to that area. Overall Rating:

We stayed in both the resort section and in the campground section. The resort section is beautiful and spacious, with wide concrete pads, nice landscaping, and a Koi (Fish) pond in the center. The pool and spa are great. The showers in the poolhouse are larger than my house! Be sure to get reservations as far in advance as possible for this section as repeat customers seem to get priority and many stay for several weeks. Also beware of four premiun spaces which are right up against "casitas" -- three-story condos that are being developed over former RV spaces. The southern sky is completely blocked in these spaces so no satellite.

The "campground" section is all gravel and spaces are close together. This area was very transient and somewhat noisy while we were there. We did not use the restrooms or showers there. We had no problem getting our 41' coach into either section, although some of the campground spaces are much smaller. We looked at several other RV parks in Moab and Portal is probably the best place in town, well-run and very convenient to all the parks. We camped at Portal RV Resort and Campground in a Motorhome.

Great park on main road in Moab a few miles from Arches National Park. Park sits back from road so limited noise from traffic. Nice level sites. Park owner even gave us tips for going off-road with our jeep and suggested trails. Would definitely stay there again! We camped at Portal RV Resort and Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed on the resort side which we felt was worth it as we got to enjoy the pool plus the owner of our site had built a great shade area. A very clean park which is landscaped beautifully. Only downside was some of the owners around us were not friendly at all. We camped at Portal RV Resort and Campground in a Motorhome.

We had a pull thru site with sewer, water & 50 amp. The roads are paved but the sites are fine gravel and level. It is a little tight driving in the campground but passable as long as you drive slow and careful. It is very convenient to Arches National Park. We would stay here again. Tips for other Campers:

Park is very convenient to Moab and the Arches National Park. It also is close to Canyonlands and Dead Horse Point State Park. We found a couple of good restaurants and coffee shops in Moab, so when we weren't hiking in the parks, it was easy to find places to sit back and relax.

Parked on a completely level concrete pad. What a treat! However, we were completely shadowed by the neighboring "casita". Very well maintained park in the back. The front section is dusty and gravel. Farm odors are not totally pleasing. Hot tub and pool were great. Would stay here again, for sure! Overall Rating:

This review is for the resort portion, which is top notch. The campground area seems very nice but has gravel parking and sites are closer together. In the resort, wide streets and very wide concrete pads. Some are pull-through but some are pull-in with pretty views of the nearby hills. Most sites are well landscaped, some with large patios. The restroom and showers are very nice, as is the pool. Wi-Fi also very strong and good. This is by far and away the best place to stay in Moab. It is very convenient to town as well as the vast number of things to do in the area. The management is also a major plus. One thing to remember is most campgrounds in Moab fill up fast and the resort here is booked well ahead. Plan accordingly. We camped at Portal RV Resort and Campground in a Motorhome.
