We've stayed here once or twice a year for several years, always staying in the resort area. The sites are unbelievably big rig friendly. Lots of space to park toad and toys. Sites are concrete and level. Nice landscaping. Nice large dog park that was unfortunately out of commission because of replanting in progress. Nice pool and hot tub. Wi-Fi was adequate. Utilities all in good working order. Friendly staff. Had some friends staying in the adjacent non-resort area. These sites have been recently nicely upgraded. Don't miss eating at the Moab Diner. Great green chili, breakfast burritos, etc. We camped at Portal RV Resort and Campground in a Motorhome.

A nice campground with a mix of transient and ownership sites. Asphalt access roads with level gravel sites. Access roads are comfortably wide for a single rig, but not wide enough for two rigs to pass. Most sites are slightly narrow pull thrus (about the length of picnic table between rigs). Each site in the transient area has a concrete pad with picnic table and fixed grill and a tree (mostly Crabapples). We were able to comfortably fit a 37’ class A plus our toad in the site. Some minor puddling on the access roads after rain, but there was enough gravel in the sites to avoid puddling and mud. Power ok, water ok, sewer ok (some sites have the sewer connection recessed enough to cause issues hooking up a sewer elbow). No issues with satellite access. Wifi was ok in signal strength and bandwidth (most of the time), but only for e-mail and casual browsing. We did occasionally have to resort to our hotspot to avoid frustrating page load times. Verizon signal was 3 to 4 bars with reasonable bandwidth. We will stay here again when in the area. We camped at Portal RV Resort and Campground in a Motorhome.

Very nice campground. We stayed in the campground, not the owners' side, and found it very nice. Wonderful views of red rock. Spacious sites, easy hook-up and in and out of the campground. A short distance into town. Not too much road noise. We did not visit or use the showers or laundry so have no notes on them. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Moab. While it looked narrow and tight, we were able to (fairly easily) maneuver in and out of the site with a 42' motorhome pulling a 12' trailer. There were no fire rings but there was a charcoal grill on each site. The pea gravel base was easily tracked in the camper and proved challenging for our motorcycles. The staff was not often on duty; it was well into the next day before we made personal contact. With that said, they left paperwork in an easy to find place along with information on when they would return. Sites were very close together; we could look right into the next camper's windows. The campground was a convenient 1 mile ride to downtown restaurants and shopping 3 to 4 miles to Arches National Park. We would visit this campground again. We camped at Portal RV Resort and Campground in a Motorhome.

There are two sections to this park. We stayed in the owner's section, which reflects the higher rate. Sites are 40; x 80', which gives you plenty of room between you and your neighbors. Pads are concrete and yard is gravel and has a picnic table. Many of these lots are landscaped, ours was not. We were across from a green park like setting with a pond. The pool and hot tub were near by. There is a fenced dog run with good grass. We enjoyed it here and would return if in the area. We camped at Portal RV Resort and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed in the owners section. Very nice, pool, cement pads and nice landscaping. Definitely worth the extra money. Easy check-in. It's definitely the best place to stay in Moab, hands down. We camped at Portal RV Resort and Campground in a Motorhome.

Well laid out commercial campground with concrete islands between sites. Electric, sewer, water, cable worked well. Campground and facilities super clean. Staff helpful and efficient. Great location, easy access, wide driveways. Stayed in the campground, not the resort. We camped at Portal RV Resort and Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Stayed in the owners section. This area is not Class A only. Sites were nicely landscaped and site widths were good. All paved, and good placement of utilities. Plenty of room to park tow vehicle. Nice picnic table provided for use. Wi-Fi was generally good, however, it dropped twice while we were there, and owners had to reset it. There is a koi pond in the middle of the owners section which appeared to be a breading ground for mosquitoes. They made it difficult to sit out at night to enjoy the night sky. Also, there were many children at the pool who were unsupervised, which made adult enjoyment difficult. One person was hit in the head with a rubber football being thrown around. Trash bins seemed to fill up quickly to overflowing. Probably the nicest park in the area, and close to the national parks. We camped at Portal RV Resort and Campground in a Motorhome.

In the resort section - nice concrete pads, big, some shade (trees still young). Would have been a 9 if they had not advertised as a "resort". Bunch of off-road rigs (I know, this is Utah) all over, though not riding. The area with the smaller gravel sites were looking much like a state park on a weekend. Don't find that in a resort. But I would still stay here again. We camped at Portal RV Resort and Campground in a Motorhome.

This campground is divided up into an owners side and a public side. You can camp on either side with the owners side being more expensive. This review is the owners side where we stayed. Our site R49 is really long and wide (we could probably get 5 or 6 full size vehicles on it), concrete and a picnic table. The utilities are positioned in the correct spot. While camping on the owners side you have access to a swimming pool plus you can use the public side as well. The general public is restricted from coming on to this side. Our site has no shade trees. Cable TV works well and the Internet is good but seems to go off in the evening hours. The sites are level. We had Paradox Pizza last night (free delivery) and it was great. We will stay here again. We camped at Portal RV Resort and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Previous review gets it dead right. We had owner's site 34, which has a nice grass area in front where you could position a couple of chairs in the shade of two trees, with the koi pond only a few paces away. Yes there are mosquitoes, who would imagine in the desert, and my wife got eaten alive! $59 with 10% discount for AARP. We camped at Portal RV Resort and Campground in a Motorhome.

Park is half privately owned lots that can be rented and half public. We chose public due to price, 37.80 with AARP discount. Price may seem high to some but you are in a high tourist area so I think you can expect to may more. Private side has complete concrecte pads and patios, but we find the gravel and patio fine. GPS wanted us to drive 3 miles further, fortunately we saw their sign as we passed and were able to turn around in the gas station just beyond the hotel. Watch for Holiday Inn Express and slow down, park is not far beyond. Large sign but you can't see park from road. If you are need of a "real" grocery store there is the City Market (Smiths/Kroger) on the south end of town. Nice grocery. Besides the NP's we drove out to the winery along the river and the drive is beautiful. Gentleman who checked us in was very nice and helpful. We would stay here again. Pros of this park are location to Arches and Canyonlands National Parks, electricity worked without issue, and Wifi worked flawlessly. Cons include having to move during a 7 day stay. I asked repeatedly if I could keep my site; however one worker told me she did not know how to move sites. I saw others having to move as well. Training of employees in order. Shower only used one time in the early am, but it did not appear to be very clean. Personal items and bandaids left in shower from previous user/s. The website states discount, but did not get it with my first check in, only the second one when I moved and at my insistence. For 42 dollars a night I expect a pool at a minimum. The tiny pool that is there is only for the membership sites that are sold at 125k per pop which is too much for me to pay to buy a pool. You are surrounded by jeeps and OHV's. Save yourself some money and stay at a cheaper place. We camped at Portal RV Resort and Campground in a Motorhome.
