Stayed here in our 21' Travel Trailer. As the previous reviewer has stated, there are about a dozen sites that are suitable for RV's and trailers. Loop is easily navigable and the self-registration is standard for these NPS campgrounds. Our site (#29) seemed like it would be good for a much longer rig as there was a large pullout attached to it for the tow vehicle to park in. Couldn't believe how dark it is here as well as how quiet it is a night. Gets cold in October, so bring some extra propane/blankets. Water is available at the Visitors Center up the road (limit of 5 gal, spigot did have a hose attachment). One thing we did notice is the last site on the loop (#31) had an electric hookup (20/30/50amp) as well as a sewer. This looked new and not sure if it actually works. Would stay at this campground again. We camped at Hovenweep National Monument Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

If you have a 4wd vehicle, there are some other ruins you can see up the highway down some 4wd roads. They are listed on the park map and worth a trip out to see.

An excellent NPS campground situated miles beyond civilization in a true dark sky location of the southwest. Most of the campground sites are spacious and especially so for the RV designated sites. There are about seven level back-in sites, (one paved), to the right and left of the pay station and near the restroom. These sites may accommodate an RV up to 40 feet. There was plenty of room for my 24 foot motorhome. Additionally, there are a few pull-over sites, some level, which have the potential to accommodate an RV. Sites come with a table and a shade wind protection Ramada. There is only one water spigot, which is located at the restroom. The typical 1960 style NPS restroom is equipped with one or two toilets depending on gender. Best to plan on getting up early in order to use the restroom. Also, plan on arriving prior to noon in order to acquire one those RV sites. The view is spectacular and the canyon ruins are nearby. We camped here in a Motorhome and would stay here again. We camped at Hovenweep National Monument Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a nice basic campground with no hook-ups. Rest rooms were clean and close by. Each site had a table/benches and several had cover/windbreak. The visitor center is nice and helpful staff showed us how to locate additional Anasazi ruins, off the beaten path. This is a quiet location but quite a distance from any town. A good thing! Would stay here again. We camped at Hovenweep National Monument Campground in a Truck Camper.

This is a clean, quiet campground. Sites are near level gravel. Each site has a picnic table and shelter. There are lots of small trees, but little shade. Roads are asphalt, adequately wide, in good condition. There are 7 RV-only sites for rigs up to 32 feet, and smaller rigs can fit into some of the other sites. Verizon data service works very well. Potable water is available at the visitor center (max 5 gallons). Generator hours are 8-10 AM and 4-8 PM. Payment is self-registration, cash only. Although the roads within the monument are good, the roads from Highway 262 in Utah to the monument entrance are rough, with potholes, many cattle guards, range cattle, and a short unpaved section. I didn't drive the roads from the Colorado side. We camped at Hovenweep National Monument Campground in a Motorhome.
