They opened in March and it would appear they have done nothing since. The sites located furthest from the highway have nicer fire rings and a 10x15 space for grass - but the water doesn't work in some of the spaces so the grass is dead. Good power and water and good sewer hook up. No cable, no OTA TV, if you are using AT&T cell towers there is no data but you can text and make calls. Something to do with the Navajo restrictions on cell towers. Lots of dog poop not being picked up or maybe it's from the local dog that wanders the park and is very friendly. Hey it's Monument Valley! We camped at Monument Valley KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

We had back in site 49. The site was gravel and level. The restrooms and showers were clean and well maintained. The staff friendly and helpful. WiFi only worked near the main office. My site was in the row closest to the road but we hardly noticed any road noise. The utilities worked as intended, the sunset, sunrise and night sky were fantastic. The owners seem to be working hard to satisfy their guests. In our case they succeeded. We camped at Monument Valley KOA in a Motorhome.

Other reviews acknowledge newness of this park, so I had no expectations beyond that. The issue for me was I did not get the extra perks one normally gets at KOA for the price I; hence it was not a good value for me. Secondly the staff was almost rude, unfriendly and unhelpful. Enough to turn me off to going back, which I won't. The one review acknowledged the placement of the power posts. The clerk drew on the map how we were to enter our site, but once we got there it was backwards. Everything is right if one enters from the opposite side of the pull through site. Several folks were having the same problem we did. Some figured it out while others did not. It is not clear which site is which by the numbering on the posts. Some folks were clearly not in the site assigned to them. My other issue was the bathrooms. This campground is about the only one in the valley with complete utilities so it draws lots of tent campers who rely on the bathrooms. There were four unisex bathrooms for the entire campground so folks had to wait a good while to get access to one. My photo shows location of campground in the valley and total lack of covering vegetation. We stayed one night. We camped at Monument Valley KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a very young park. It will take 30 years for the trees to grow tall enough to provide shade. The gravel site was not level, we had to use our boards and the jacks. The utilities are a little weird. The electrical post is up forward toward the front of the coach. We had to locate the rv a bit fwd into the road to reach the utilities. All the sites are this way so we couldn't ask to be moved. There is a little grass that is struggling but mostly it's gravel and dirt. There are 4 toilets for the 59 sites. The office is a small building with a few supplies. This place is a bare-bones stripper. Good for an overnight in a pinch. We wouldn't stay here again. We camped at Monument Valley KOA in a Motorhome.

Although its right on the highway, the campground was quiet. It was pretty windy when we were there. The park just opened in March 2018. Wifi is poor (Hughesnet) except in office & laundry room. Spaces are very close. No fires were allowed. There were many families who hung their laundry everywhere they could during our stay. Considering very few options in this area, the park was adequate for our 2 night stay. We camped at Monument Valley KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed in a 43' motorhome to visit Monument Valley NP area. This is a new KOA CG on Milepost 2, Highway 163 in Monument Valley. Easy check-in. Friendly staff. Big rig friendly. Interior roads are gravel. Our site was a FHU PT, level gravel site with a picnic table and grassy side. No shade, new plantings will take time to provide shade. Large grassy play area with swings. There are 4 Restrooms-showers that are in great condition. Really nice, grassy fenced-in doggy park w/bags. Close to MVNP and Goulding's Trading Post Museum famous for Hollywood movies. CG views are SPECTACULAR. Sunrise and sunsets are not to be missed and stargazing is amazing. This CG is still under construction but staff is hard at work to complete the work. We camped at Monument Valley KOA in a Motorhome.

This is a very new campground that they're still working on, but it has a lot of potential and the owner is a really nice guy. Our site was the most level site we'd ever parked on -- I only needed to put the jacks down to stabilize the rig in the wind, and man does it blow out there this time of year! The park is in a good central location for exploring much of the Monument Valley, though it's a bit of a drive to get to Gooseneck SP, Valley of the Gods and Natural Bridges, though they're all totally worth it. I'm very much looking forward to visiting this KOA again and seeing how it matures. We camped at Monument Valley KOA in a Motorhome.

This campground has recently been taken over as a KOA Campground. The play area was nice for children. Our site was a pull through site located near behind the office. We loved this location. You are in the midst of beautiful, natural land formations. The sunrises and sunsets are unbelievable. If you visit the area on a new moon with a clean night sky, spend sometime outside. We were able to see the Milky Way and the stars just kept coming. We couldn't keep count of the falling stars that we could see. Make sure to spend some time in the Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park. I cannot recommend enough taking a scenic & cultural safari at the Navajo Tribal Park. Tips for other Campers:

Don't leave the Monument Valley area without stopping at the Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park. The museum is very interesting and the outside balcony area was breathtaking. I cannot recommend enough taking a back country, scenic and cultural safari. We chose "Monument Valley Safari". Our guide was a local Navajo woman with the most interesting information and beautiful song that she shared with us during our tour. We will never forget this opportunity and time.

Check in was simple and quick. Very friendly and helpful staff. Pulled into our spot but realized that the hook ups are towards the front half of the site. The sewer hookup was was above ground and they just happened to have pavers laying around so we stacked them up to assist the sewer line. We really liked that in the middle of the desert, they have grass at our site! The view was amazing of Monument Valley. We camped at Monument Valley KOA in a Motorhome.

We stayed here in late May. While I appreciate the positive comments about the scenery, these folks could step it up on improving this site. Be prepared to be fully exposed to the elements, as it will be years before the trees now planted will be effective. The wi-fi is non existent. Very primitive. The Monument Valley KOA was a tiny strip of gravel inside a fence with no windbreak, whatsoever. The wind was blowing 25 - 35 mph when we checked in and sand was everywhere - we felt like we were in a dustbowl! Just walking to and from the office (with our mouths closed) left sand in our teeth. In the office, then were selling Tide pods for $1 each. We had planned to grill meat for dinner, but we didn't want to venture back outside until morning. On the bright side, when we looked out our window we had a gorgeous view of Monument Valley. We camped at Monument Valley KOA in a Motorhome.

Campground recently taken over by KOA franchise and much work is being done to improve it. That said, sites are level and convenient - they are trying to grow some grass, but most of it is gravel covered! In a few years it could be spectacular! We camped at Monument Valley KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Wow. The best scenery ever. Right in the middle of Monument Valley. The pull-through spaces are very large and even have a patch of grass that is big enough to use. Utilities were new, up to current standards. The owners are on site and very helpful in providing a good camping experience. One of the owners even changed a tire for a camper while I was there and took the tire to someone to repair. I would definitely return just for the view. This is a brand new KOA with some construction still going on. The dog park was actually built while we were there. The staff at check-in were helpful & friendly. The park is clean & neat. Our site was in the row farthest from the highway & was quiet, level & roomy. There was actually room to park next to our RV. No shade as yet because the trees are still very small and our site had a small plot of grass with the sod fairly new. That gives plenty of space between each front yard & the neighbor's hookups. And, oh WOW, the views! Worth staying here just for that. We camped at Monument Valley KOA in a Fifth Wheel.
