There are only 3 parks worth looking at in Salt Lake. This is the best one. It's very accessible to HW 15. It's in an industrial area and is well maintained. The sites are close to each other but they do offer a bit of grass and a tree as well as a table. They have good security and seem to have good managers. We camped at Pony Express RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Park is clean and is some small shade trees, concrete pads, and grassy adjacent area at each site. Sewer lines is not conveniently located and makes motorhome placement awkward. Park is convenient to downtown, but is also close to a freeway and is noisy at night. We camped at Pony Express RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This is a large RV park located within 25 minutes from downtown Salt Lake City UT. Well laid out, all sites are concrete surrounded by very nice grass. Some sites have a tree. Hookups were easy with a nice pedestal and the sewer connection was at ground level. Most sites -- including ours -- have a round, plastic picnic table. Since our RV is short (23') we could fit our tow car on site, but for longer RVs, you may have to park your tow car in a designated parking area. We only stayed 2 nights so we didn't utilize any of the other amenities but they seemed to have enough -- including a pool and nice playground -- to truly count as a resort. The office management were polite and efficient and a helper with a golf cart takes you to your site. The WiFi was fair but got a bit overloaded starting around 6pm. The Verizon signal was good and it worked well for the times we used it. Since the park isn't too far off of I-15, it was convenient enough and pleasant enough that we would likely stay there again when in the area. We camped at Pony Express RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Being right across from a refinery, it wasn't the best part of town, yet it was easy access to almost all resources you might need. If you have time, spend an entire day on Antelope Island... buffalo, pronghorn antelope, cool birds, etc. can be found there and you can get pretty close to many. There is also a 19th century farm which makes for an interesting visit.

This park is a great location for touring Salt Lake City and the surrounding area. The mountains are so close and beautiful. We stayed on a premium site and they were fairly roomy but the non-premium sites looked very tight. They were also nearer to the highway and road noise. We did not hear any road noise in our section. On one very hot day the voltage dropped and we could not use all of our air conditioners. There was a small pool but we did not use it. They had a really nice rec room for guests to use. One of the best things at this park was the bike path. We liked going north on the Legacy Trail better than south on the Jordan River Trail. This RV park is located beside I215 and sandwiched between the highway and unsightly refineries. We detected some odor. We camped at Pony Express RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We loved hiking the upper Albion Meadows Trail to Cecret Lake. We also liked the Doughnut Falls hike. The Saturday Farmers market downtown was wonderful. We really enjoyed the Thursday night FREE Mormon Tabernacle Choir rehearsal, downtown at Temple Square. Great shopping in nearby Bountiful.

We stayed here for one night to test out our rented RV before hitting the road. This is a very large, very upscale park located close to I-15. We liked the private restroom/shower combination. Not a place I'd choose to linger, but very convenient and nicely arranged. We camped at Pony Express RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This RV park is north of Salt Lake City with easy access to the freeways. We were only 6-8 miles from whatever we wanted to see. Sites are concrete pads and level. Park is very well maintained. Freeway noise could be bothersome but it was so hot while we were there the AC was on round the clock. We camped at Pony Express RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice place, gated, grass between sites, everything worked well. It will be nicer in about 10 years or so when the trees get bigger to provide shade. No or very little shade. We camped at Pony Express RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

It's Salt Lake City so tons of things especially if you happen to be Mormon. Near by within 30 miles is Logan and grand central station which has several museums and south of there is the Hill Air Museum and of course Salt Lake City is the capital of Utah

This park is located just off of the Interstate Highway but we were not bothered by any highway noise with a location closer to the office and away from the highway. Level concrete sites with grass in between sites. Sites are close together but angled entry makes it seem bigger. Water, 50 amp electric and sewer were all OK. The sewer connections are located at the back of the site and can require several sewer hoses to cover the distance from RV to sewer. Bathrooms/showers are combined units with individual doors. WiFi was slow but dependable. Verizon and AT&T cell phone signals were good with location in a major city. You can also pick up about 50 channels over the air (park also has cable that we did not use since we have DirecTV on board). Park is conveniently located near shopping and you can get downtown in a few minutes. We camped at Pony Express RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This is a really nice park. We were not bothered by road noise and could not hear it from inside our 5th wheel. Sites are paved and we had a pull-thru so access was easy. They are close together and your neighbor's water, electrical and sewer hookups take up some of your site; ditto that with your connections on your other neighbors site. We give that a pass because it is a really nice park. They screwed up our reservation somewhat and then tried to tell us it was our fault. They suggested we should have called but when we did no one answered. It's a long story and they evidently have an outside party making reservations as well which further complicates things. All in all it was a really nice park, conveniently located with good service, except for the reservation snafu. Salt Lake City was one of the friendliest places we have been. We camped at Pony Express RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
