Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

First Impression: Small, unassuming, unadorned. Safety: Coyotes in area. No night lighting. No security issues. Access: Southeast on Utah hwy 12 from US-89 towards Bryce Canyon National Park, highway in good condition, good signage, Garmin GPS is accurate. Office: Very friendly manager, no store. Credit cards accepted. Online reservations not available. Good Sam discount. Facilities: No pool, spa, fitness room or rec center. No laundry room. Small restrooms (only 1 shower stall), dated fixtures, shower room needs a deep cleaning, mold, hot water with good pressure (score "C+"). No propane sales. No playground. No off-leash dog run. Campground: Not in a flood plain. No storm shelter. Decorative trees at rear of CG. Interior roads are wide, gravel in fair condition with gentle turns and no overhead obstacles. Big rigs and long coaches won't have problems. Prevosts could have maneuvering challenges. Designated tent area and cabins but no yurts. Sites are generously spaced, sufficiently level, grass/gravel, pull-through and back-in, grass between. Pedestals at rear of site with electric 20/30/50; no meters. Low water pressure with good taste. Sewer pipe is 4" unthreaded, about 0-2" above ground level. Concrete patios with good picnic tables. Fires permitted in fire rings. Good satellite views. Some sites have cable TV. Free Wi-Fi with weak coverage and practically nonexistent bandwidth. Verizon phone and 4G at 4 bars. No recycle bins. Noise: No railroad or aircraft noise but local traffic on UT-12 is audible. Bug Report (late September): no insects noted. Runners: CG roads marginal for running. Yoga: patios are plenty big enough for your mat but you'll have to move the picnic table. Conclusion: Score 5-Acceptable. Overpriced. We camped at Red Canyon RV Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

From the CG, you're about 15 miles from Bryce Canyon City which is basically one, big, tourist trap. Groceries at the Ruby Inn General Store. Ice Cream across the street is low quality and high price. Diesel at $3.099. Post Office. More campgrounds (Red Canyon CG, Ruby Inn CG, 2 campgrounds in the NP).

As others have said, the park is about 15 miles from Bryce, but only two miles to Red Canyon which offers other hiking trails with incredible views and no crowds. The staff is pleasant, and the sites acceptable with views all around. It is close to the road but noise has not been an issue. Unfortunately the laundry facility, which is outside, was not working and there is not much else around here. There is a dog area but it is right near the road and not enclosed. We camped at Red Canyon RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Fosters restaurant, on Rte 12 toward Bryce was a pleasant surprise. Good menu, very friendly service. There is a paved off the road bike path that begins two miles away near the Red Canyon Visitors center and goes all the way to Bryce. Great ride!

Good all around smallish place easy to get into and out of. Cheap compared with others in the national park areas of Utah. Cable was a bit dodgie for us but that might have been our connection. Utilities other wise good. Nice friendly staff. Easy pull thrus with plenty of room for everything. Verizon wireless great. wifi was good except during the late afternoon and night when everyone on. Good location before you get to town closer to bryce so better for going hiking etc. The town doesn't have a lot but small grocery and gas and lots of places to eat. We camped at Red Canyon RV Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This RV park is right off the highway with constant road noise. The staff were very nice at check-in. Sewer way in the back of site with the water and electric and cable in normal spot together near middle. There is no specific dog area and there are a lot of goatheads in the grassy areas. We walked our dog on the gravel roadways. We camped at Red Canyon RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Staff is wonderful and fellow RV'ers are friendly. Small park. Lanes are old macadam. Access off the road was easy. There is a little traffic noise but did not hinder our sleeping with the windows open. Sites are long enough for our 43' Fifth wheel and F350 Pickup, and level. Many rigs did not even disconnect their toad. Sites are wide enough to have slides and awnings out without bothering your neighbor. Sites are gravel with some grass in between. Sites also have a concrete patio and picnic table as well as a small grill for cooking and a fire pit. Most of the sites are full sun. A couple have good size trees on each side but won't accommodate tall rigs. Really nice cabins. And great mountain views. Utilities are conveniently located and work well. WiFI is screaming fast - excellent. AT&T Cell service is okay -never more than 3 bars. Keep in mind this area is quite remote so we are pleased to have 3 bars. There is plenty of grassy area for walking your dog but not off-leash. For laundry we went into town at the public laundry which was very nice. There is a small grocery store in town. We camped at Red Canyon RV Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Gravel lots - needs a little leveling of the RV. Close to the highway but you have to be real sensitive to noise for the road noise to bother you. The people are really helpful and friendly. Good central location for both Bryce and Zion canyons. We camped at Red Canyon RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Now owned by Forever Resorts, which also has the concession to operate the lodge at Bryce Canyon, this is a small park with limited sites. The first four or five pull-through sites have trees, however they may restrict use of slides. The lady at the office is very pleasant, efficient and informative. As others have stated, you pick your own site. The sites big enough for a big rig are at the upper part of the park, are gravel/dirt, and easily accessed. We had no trouble leveling. There is one bath house, which was clean, at the upper end of the park. There are several grass areas to walk dogs and a few tent sites. You will get a great preview of the beautiful red rock formations in Red Canyon from the RV park. It is a couple of miles from the park to the visitor center for Red Canyon, and 15 miles from Bryce Canyon. Due to the high temperature, we elected to drive through Bryce Canyon to the end (Rainbow Point) then on the return trip stopped at all of the overlooks. Awesome views and rock formations. We also took advantage of the closeness to Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument - a must visit. There is no end to the dirt/gravel roads you can drive to various view sites. We chose to drive to Devils Garden and walk among the hoodoos. They are amazing rock formations and worth the trip. Note - the road has sections that are like washboards, but passable for all but the lowest slung vehicle. We could have spent a few more days checking out this park but our schedule didn't allow. We camped at Red Canyon RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Small park close to Red Canyon and Bryce NP that has pull-throughs and back-ins. The pull-throughs will accommodate most rigs. A few sites have shade, but most are in full sun. Best for full timers or over nights. No club house, pool, or playground. Close to RT 12 but noise was not an issue. Water, sewer, electric and CATV worked well. Verizon 4G had a good signal. The Wi-Fi had a good signal and was very fast. We camped at Red Canyon RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a small park with very few amenities but we had full hookups with 50-amp service and everything worked well, including the cable and wi-fi. Our site was level gravel and wide enough for our slides and awning. The restrooms/showers were old but clean. It is about 4 miles from Red Canyon and 15 from Bryce. They only had one washer and dryer which were in a lean-to but you can't beat the price of $2.00 per load (wash and dry). They are in the process of building three log cabins that look like they will have bathrooms and kitchenettes. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Red Canyon RV Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Price reflects Good Sam discount including taxes. Very friendly manager and workampers. Convenient for visiting Bryce Canyon NP. Good Wi-Fi and Verizon signal. Site was on gravel/grass and fairly level with good power. Water pressure was a little low. We would stay here again. We camped at Red Canyon RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Price paid was with GS discount, and includes tax. As others have said, this park is in a great location for visiting Bryce Canyon and Red Rock Canyon, but the park could use some TLC. There is easy access for big rigs, but there aren't many level sites. Some sites are asphalt and some are dirt. The gentleman on duty when we checked in was friendly. He didn't assign us a site, suggested we either drive or walk through the park to see which site we'd like and then take it. It's not a beautiful park, but was sufficient for the one night we stayed. There were full hook ups, and all services worked well. There is a bath house that looked clean. I didn't see the laundry room. There is an area labeled “pet run” that is unfenced, but there's plenty of space to walk pets. Park wi-fi was very slow, at least where we were parked, but our Verizon hot spot worked well. Although the park is right alongside the road, we weren't bothered by road noise. We camped at Red Canyon RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

An okay RV park with a great location for visiting Bryce Canyon Nat'l Park. Very friendly staff. "Pick any spot you like." Sites are gravel and mostly level. Park road is paved and sites are easy in/out. Each site has a picnic table, grill, and standard hookups. Their laundry is a single washer/dryer combo in an outdoor lean-to using the honor system to pay $1 per load. We used it and it worked. Wifi is useless unless you are very close to the check-in building. But Verizon MIFI signal was 4G. ATT signal was very weak but good enough for phone calls and slow data. One oddity -- the phone number on their web page is wrong. It rings at the owner's house and she no longer lives on site. The correct number to call is (435) 676-2243. I asked why they hadn't fixed the web page but they said they had no control over it. The owner is elderly and things aren't getting done. A few sites had limited shade but most are full sun. Price shown is after GS discount. We camped at Red Canyon RV Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is located in a great location for visiting Bryce Canyon NP or the Red Rocks canyon. The sites were reasonably level. The hook-ups were located mid-site which worked just fine. The staff were friendly and offered several suggestions for the local area. We would stay here again. We camped at Red Canyon RV Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
