Well-kept park in a great location for access to downtown. TRAX light rail is just across the street. Fairly roomy sites, clean and well-kept. Great staff. This is an excellent place to stay while visiting Salt Lake City and surrounding areas. The pool was closed, but it looks well-maintained. But this park is not a resort, so don't expect much in the way of activities. What keeps me from giving this park 5 stars is the horrible WiFi. The signal was sporadic and variable, completely unreliable even when the park was empty during the day. At this price point that's unforgivable. We camped at Salt Lake City KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Very nice park but too expensive for what is here. It is about 30% too expensive. We have stayed at a lot of KOAs and this is a nice park. quiet at night and away from the freeway. Showers and restrooms are very nice. We camped at Salt Lake City KOA in a Motorhome.

Campground was easy to find, but use the directions they supply, not your GPS. Check-in was quick and easy. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Sites are wide and long. Full hookups were positioned correctly and worked fine. Cell service and WIFI was good. Restrooms and showers were clean. Interior roads were a bit narrow, but OK. This is a really pretty campground with lots of big trees. Plenty of room to walk the dog. This is a nice place. We've stayed here before and we'll stay here again. We camped at Salt Lake City KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

While $55 is a bit steep for us, the park is just outside Temple Square so it is convenient to do things in downtown SLC. We were here on a beautiful October day with the trees offering a golden canopy over the motorhome and the roads. It was stunning. Sites are mostly shady. Site surface is asphalt featuring a picnic table.

The UTA shuttle train station is less than five minutes from the entrance, so there is even no need to fight traffic. We camped at Salt Lake City KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We arrived on a Thursday, which is the evening the Mormon Tabernacle Choir practices/rehearses in the Tabernacle. Anyone can come into the building after about 7:30 pm and listen to the Choir at no charge. Sure, it is just a rehearsal, but what an opportunity to see the hard work that goes into their performances as they run through pieces in search of perfection.

Well maintained. Big rig friendly. 50 amp service with spacious sites. Much better than most KOA. Our space was just long enough RV and car but looked like they had longer sites. Office staff was great. Wi-if worked. Thought it's a little pricey but it's a great central location. Free cable tv. We camped at Salt Lake City KOA in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

First Impression: Big. Trees. A respite in an urban setting. Safety: No concerns. Access: We came in on east I-80, exit 118, left on Redwood Road, turn right on North Temple, left just past the trolley station, municipal road in good condition, good signage, Garmin GPS is accurate. Office: Friendly and helpful staff, fantastic store with snacks, foot items, beer, wine, souvenirs, and an impressive collection of RV equipment items. Credit cards accepted. Online reservations available. KOA discount. Facilities: Pool, hot tub, no fitness room or rec center. Laundry room. Restrooms/showers not inspected. Propane sales. Big playground. No off-leash dog run. Campground: Nearby river but no signs of flooding. No storm shelter. Heavily wooded with manicured trees. Interior roads are wide, asphalt in good condition but with challenging turns; no overhead obstacles. Big rigs and long coaches need to be careful. Prevosts could have maneuvering problems. No tent area or yurts but cabins are available. Sites are all nearby, level, asphalt, pull-through and back-in, grass and mature trees between. Pedestals at middle of site with electric 20/30/50; metered for long term. Adequate water pressure with good taste. Sewer pipe is 4" threaded, just below ground level. Premium sites have concrete patios, some with privacy shrubs; all sites have nice picnic tables. Fires not permitted; no fire rings. Challenging satellite views. Free cable TV (33 channels). Free Wi-Fi with good coverage and bandwidth. Verizon phone at 4 bars. Commingled recycling. Noise: No railroad, aircraft, traffic, or interstate noise. Bug Report (late September): Tree wasps, no issue. Runners: CG roads excellent for running. Yoga: most sites plenty big enough for your mat. Conclusion: Score 9-Excellent. We camped at Salt Lake City KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Salt Lake City and surrounding suburbs has about anything and everything you need. National restaurant chains, all of the fast food outlets. Landromats. Multiple Wal-Marts. Groceries. Diesel ranges from $2.88 to $3.10. Banks. Entertainment. Churches. RV stores (Camping World in Draper, UT, about 15 miles south off I-15). Hardware stores.

This was a 1-night stopover for me that resulted from re-routing my trip from West Yellowstone due to weather. This is obviously an older KOA from an era of smaller RVs. The roads are very narrow. Even though I paid a premium price for a pull-thru site, I was unable to get to it without disconnecting my tow vehicle. (What's the point of a pull-thru if one has to disconnect to get to it?) I also had issues with the office. Since I had no reservation, their "default" was to place me in a "premium" site, which featured an umbrella under the shade trees that ended up blocking my satellite dish, while I noticed vacant "regular" sites that would have been just as good for one night. The route to my site (recommended by the office) required disconnecting my tow car. I was offered no escort to my site, which most KOAs do. And, when I asked if I could apply some of my KOA Value Points to reduce the cost of the site, I was told, "Sorry, it's too late; we've already processed your payment." Overall, my experience was far short of KOA standards and at a price higher than I've ever paid at a KOA-- lesson learned about this place! We camped at Salt Lake City KOA in a Motorhome.

Large park with level, paved sites and grassy yards. Quite a few long-term folks. 1 bar on ATT and 3 on Verizon. Cable tv and decent wi-fi. Great dog park except for the fact that they run the sprinklers in the morning, which makes it unusable until it dries out. Great location to explore the area. We camped at Salt Lake City KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Just like most KOAs, overpriced and average. It does have asphalt roads and spaces though, with lots of trees for shade during the hot times. Wifi is useless so prepare to use your phone as a hotspot. Cable is ok with some standard channels. Very centrally located close to downtown. Noise level is a bit high with a very busy side street used by lots of buses and other vehicles. Very nice astroturf dog exercise area where Fido can go off leash. I'd probably stay here again due to the location but come on, folks, at $55/night would it be too much to ask to provide working wifi? We camped at Salt Lake City KOA in a Motorhome.

Basic KOA in a sketchy area. Very large campground with many permanent residents. We had a patio and grass site with shade trees and had a "buddy" set up where our living space was facing one neighbor's living space. Not a fan of this, but would be good for friends parked next to each other. There are various levels of sites. Some basic sites had long, unmowed grass and a picnic table. Located across the street from a light rail system stop, which we rode into downtown and Temple Square. Made sightseeing easy and effortless. Grocery shopping nearby. Wifi was not good and cable was analog. We camped at Salt Lake City KOA in a Motorhome.

Love all the trees in this park! It super convenient to town with the light rail right across from the office. It's a bit pricey, but location and trees make it worth it. Seems like a growing number of permanent residents, which is a bummer for travelers and availability. We camped at Salt Lake City KOA in a Motorhome.

The light rail has been put in in the last few years and most GPS do not recognize the street North 1460 West and want you to go past the RV park and then make a U turn so you need to be very observant to make the turn.
