We stayed in Wakara back-in site 3 for three nights. Large, level, quiet and beautiful views of the lake and surrounding mountains. We are 63' and could have fit in most sites in this campground. Only cons were low water pressure, and no wifi. Such a peaceful retreat. We camped at Palisade State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Nice 1 1/2 mile hike around the small lake. We road our road bikes from the campground on nearby quiet farm roads. We saw lots of deer on the hill side each morning.

This is one of our new favorite places. Such a breath of fresh air after staying in commercial RV parks. We stayed in Wakara site 8 for 3 nights, end of March. We were one of a handfull of RVs in the park. It was quiet and wonderful. Views all around are mountainous and interesting. Heard geese flying around, elk bellowing. Tons of stars at night. RV site was much wider than we anticipated - yay! (Was not a double site.) We have a 40' fifth wheel, dually truck, small SUV towing a flat trailer with motorcycles on it. We parked the truck in front of the fifth wheel with room to spare, and then parked the SUB/trailer next to the truck in the front of the site and next to the fifth wheel. Still tons of room for "outdoor space". Plus you have the little covered picnic table area. Sites are spaced out so you don't feel close to your neighbor. Site was asphalt and we had no trouble leveling. Hookups were fine where they were; you can backup your fifth wheel past the concrete bumpers so you less likely need a longer sewer hose. Water pressure wasn't amazing so we just filled and used water pump. Power went out 2/3 mornings - once for few hours, next day 5 minutes - so that was odd. AT&T data/phone service worked mostly. Had two bars of LTE in one part of our RV but if we moved to the front it went down to one bar 4G. I originally thought the long pull thru sites would be right for our big rig but it was NOT. While the pull thrus are long, they are curved in a way that's hard to get a 40' setup in the right spot without walking out your door into mud or being all wonky on the site. Go for the back-ins! Golf course seemed popular. Excited to come back when they have the rentals open (paddle boats, kayaks, canoes starting weekends in April). Only negative is the $10 extra for our "extra vehicle" which I just don't understand since we fit it all on one site. "Extra people" cost, sure, but our car didn't use any hookups... We camped at Palisade State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Beautiful setting on the lake next to the golf course. Wild golf course with lots of ups and downs through the hills. Very quiet site. Good dinner at adjacent restaurant. Well spaced pull-through sites (we have Class C with tow). Turn off from main highway is beyond sign. We camped at Palisade State Park in a Motorhome.

If you like golf, try this course while camping. Go around loop with RV so your windows face the lake. Nice walking trail around lake.

We stayed in Wakara campground, and had a nice view of the lake. Our site was a nice size, but not level. Water pressure was very low. There is a nice little two mile trail around the lake. It was Ok. We camped at Palisade State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We arrived a day early to a full very busy park, but they had overflow parking w/elec in a nice group area. Our very nice pull thru site was avail about noon for our three day reservation. The site had quite a bit of small litter my wife picked up. Much of it had been there a while based on appearance, such as rusted bottle caps, old bottles, and various pieces of plastic. Also, very low water pressure. My gauge is set at 50 lbs max, but here it measured only 22 PSI. Although very busy ion our Saturday arrival, Sunday eve and forward was very slow. Nice scenery, lake, and golf course creates a good weekend crowd. We would stay here again. We camped at Palisade State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Beautiful park along a lake with a golf course. They rent kayaks, canoes & paddleboats. Very busy; reservation is a must this time of year. Wakara sites are up above the lake and are better for larger motorhomes/5th wheels. Not all sites have full hook-ups. Paved roads & cement pads. Very well maintained. Good on-line reservation system. We camped at Palisade State Park in a Motorhome.

Nice, well kept park. Lots of staff. Golf course in the park. Lots of water spaces available. Full hookups available. Several small towns nearby for shopping. (Wal-Mart in Ephrim.) We got some TV with just the antenna. Several youth groups here. We camped at Palisade State Park in a Motorhome.

We saw recommendations on your site about the new section of this park that has full hookups and stayed there. it was kind of barren and had cabins across from the sites with, in our case, a lot of loud kids. Also the weeds were waist high all around the sites. Would probably not stay here again. We camped at Palisade State Park in a Motorhome.

Considering the budget woes facing most state parks, this one is obviously well funded and well cared for. We stayed in the new Wakara section of full hook-ups. Paved sites, more or less level, easy back-ins. One caveat: during our visit there was extremely low water pressure. We resorted to filling our on-board water tank and using our on-board pump. Sure made showering more enjoyable. Didn't golf but the course looked healthy and well -tended. We camped at Palisade State Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is a small, pretty state park on a lake with adjacent, excellent golf course. There are 2 sections: the older one is asphalt with small green belts for each site but few trees. The newer section is on a hill overlooking the lake but also no shade but the hookups and shade shelters are nice and each site has picnic table and bbq. Everything is very clean and the park is very much oriented to families from nearby communities. There is a very nice camp host and accommodating folk at the kiosk. The golf course is really very nice and an incredible bargain at $10 for 9 holes with an extra $5 for a cart. Adjacent to the park is the start of the superb six-mile ATV trail, rentals are available in Sterling. Place is full on weekends and even some weekdays so reservations make sense. We camped at Palisade State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Kids, Kids, Kids! Most of the spots are close together and there are A LOT OF KIDS. If you are looking for quiet and solitude, this is not the place. But if you want to let your kids run free, this is the place. We camped at Palisade State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Nice little state park. They were in the process of making new sites, most of which are full hookups. I thought it was a bit pricey given the area. Campground is around the back half of a man-made lake. Was told the fishing is good and we saw one guy fishing both days we were there. Behind the campground is a pretty nice 18 hole golf course. The greens will test you. Park is just off of US-89 in central Utah. South of here 89 passes between Bryce Canyon NP and Zion NP, so this park could be a good stopping off point. We camped at Palisade State Park in a Motorhome.
