The park is being updated, cabins added, etc. There were receptacles for separating plastic/metal/bottles which I really appreciated. Friendly owners. The only negative was the laundry room was on a "honor system" and a bit overpriced compared to other comparable parks. Some park sites have been expanded but are still rather narrow...we did have to reverse and swing wide to clear the tree that was there. The views from the park is well worth the spacing. We were delighted to have stayed here. We camped at Sandcreek RV Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Byway 24 drive, Capitol Reef National Park. Torrey is a neat little town.

After reading the earlier reviews about new owners who were upgrading the park, we were very disappointed in what we found. First the Pros: Good wifi, clean (though very old and tired) restrooms and a nice view from some sites of red cliffs in the distance. Cons: Sites going every which way, graveled throughout with patches of brown grass but mostly tall weeds. Office open only after calling on the phone (not all cell phones had service here and we had to make a call to open the office for a camper trying to check in). There was a large red shipping container to the right of our site and junky property to the west. Picnic table was a wreck. A bare bones experience with prices more commensurate with much nicer parks. We camped at Sandcreek RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Capitol Reef (both the drive down highway 12 and the scenic byway from the park visitors center) were totally breathtaking.

This is a very basic campground if your here to see Capitol Reef National Park, it is very close. There is no cable but surprisingly you get very good OTA reception, 18 channels. WiFi is good but not at prime hours. It is a little tight to get around, we had 33 ft motorhome, no problem, I am not sure of a 40 foot. Sites are very close together, we had an end site which was great, but the other side was really close. But for the price, the proximity to Capitol Reef, and the views from the campground are beautiful, it is a good value. We camped at Sandcreek RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Friendly, hard-working owners. Lovely views, easily accessible for our 38' Class A. Level gravel. Great location: walking distance to market, restaurants and Saturday Farmer's Market in Torrey, 10-15 min to Capitol Reef Nat'l Park. Great wifi. I would love to stay here again. Make sure you also visit the local Visitors Center, there is much to do in the area around Capital Reef. We camped at Sandcreek RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

A nice RV park with only about 15 RV spaces. The park was just bought by new owners in January. If I was rating the park based on the owners I would give it a 10+. The are new owners are trying very hard to update the park, unfortunately I have to rate the park as it is now. Spaces are close together and you neighbors sewer connection is right outside you front door. When we were there, the park was not full so it was not a problem. Roads and streets are gravel, restrooms are clean. WiFi is slow and would drop out occasionally. I talked to the owners and they are in the process of upgrading. The price for wash and dry is $5 which I think is high. The views from the park are really beautiful. If you can, stay on an end site, they have the best view and are a little bigger. Like I said before, the owners are awesome. We would definitely stay there again. We camped at Sandcreek RV Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

The lady who checked us in was a bit quirky but friendly and we didn't see much of anyone after that. This park is small, with only 15 spaces, but was sufficient for our needs and we saw beautiful sunsets. It was a great value and we would stay here again. Tips for other Campers:

We did Capitol Reef National Park, just 10 miles away. Be sure to stop at the historic Gifford House for one of their little pies! In town, Slackers Burgers has great veggie burgers and their shakes are delicious! Also would highly recommend Rim Rock Patio, Baked Spaghetti, salad and garlic bread, great value at $8! Patio out back has an amazing view of the landscape & a fire pit. Note: Rim Rock Patio should not be confused with Rim Rock Restaurant, which is next door but much higher priced.

Stayed here during our visit to Capitol Reef NP for 3 nights. Fairly pricey for what you get and not comparable to other parks in the area. Hookups worked, sites are close together and are fine gravel, don't try riding a bike or wearing flip flops. Neighbors sewer hookup is within a couple of steps of your door. Somewhat unkempt appearance in general. Good OTA tv signal, but this is not a good spot for Verizon. Probably would try another RV Park in the area should we return. We camped at Sandcreek RV Park and Campground in a Travel Trailer.

What a backdrop this place has! Gorgeous red rock cliffs on one side, similar to what you find inside Capitol Reef National Par, which is only a few miles up the road. We stayed here as part of a visit to the Park. My cousin rented one of the cabins, which was rustic, but well comfortable and cool. They gave us a space for our teardrop nearby. We were also near the bathrooms, which were clean. Owners live onsite. We dropped the trailer so we could more easily explore the park. Had a little trouble getting it back on the hitch because site was in deep gravel and we couldn't get purchase with the wheel. If you drop here, you may want to make sure you use a block. This is a nice place to stay and less crowded than the campground inside the park. We camped at Sandcreek RV Park and Campground in a Tent Trailer.

I value service above all when staying at a park. The good folks at Sand Creek where very accommodating, personable and friendly. We roll at 70' so we barely squeezed around the park and into our spot with the gracious help of the park owner. The best part about Sandcreek is it's close proximity to the main part of town which is within walking and cycling distance. We camped at Sandcreek RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Office staff fine. Wi-Fi OK most of the time, which is pretty good at campgrounds these days. My Verizon MiFi did not work here. AT&T phone service worked pretty well. View was very nice from site #11. Price was good during high summer season. Very close to Capitol Reef National Monument. Lots of detractors, though that are fairly easy I would think to solve: site not level, trees not trimmed, place looks a little dumpy with clutter on the front porch and in the office area, entry into the place is dirt and gravel with lots of potholes. Satellite worked because we moved a little forward in our site. Barely enough room for car. Looks like they are clearing an area. Don't think I'd return to this one. We camped at Sandcreek RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

We really enjoyed this small country-like campground. Nothing fancy but wonderful location for seeing the sites in this area. Very friendly and helpful owners (she makes and sells beautiful jewelry in the store). Beautiful views throughout the park. We are a big rig and when we made our reservation she made sure we were in site #1 which was an easy in and out. Will definitely stay here again when in the area. The proximity to local attractions in the area and the friendly staff make Sandcreek RV a good spot to park the trailer or set up camp in one of the tent sites or cute little cabin rental.
