Good park that is worth a stop. A few miles out of town which keeps it quiet. Easy in pull thru site which easily held 31 ft 5th wheel with no leveling. Good views of the red rocks. Facilities all very clean Wifi slow during peak times but otherwise ok. No true Vweizon service so no use of data plans(AT&T seems to have the area). Only mark down was two restroom facilities had a total of 3 toilets. Given size of campground, the number of cabins and tent sites this seems too few to me. Would still be back here when possible. We camped at Thousand Lakes RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Lots to see and do in the area so plan on a couple of days at least if possible. Hikes of all levels, scenic drives, and beautiful rock formations.

I have no idea where the "Thousand Lakes" comes from, as there's not a lake to be found for miles. Overall, a nice experience. Pretty tight between sites, a picnic bench provided, a nice grassy area, pool and dining hall.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The gift shop was very reasonably priced for all kinds of stuff and had some great local crafts, mugs and clothing. The park is a ways away from Capital Reef, but very quiet and well kept. We enjoyed our two days there. We camped at Thousand Lakes RV Park in a Motorhome.

We enjoyed our stay here and it was a great location for visiting Capitol Reef. We work during the day so most of our time hiking in the park was in the evening so it was nice to be close enough to hop on over there for a hike or two. Verizon data did not work here, but my Verizon talk/text did work. AT&T data worked well so we used that for work. We were fortunate that they gave us one of the nice and large back-in sites; the interior pull-through sites looked a lot smaller. The only reason I did not give this place 5 stars is because they charge extra for children. Hotels don't charge extra for our kids to stay in the room with us, so I don't understand why some RV parks charge extra for kids to stay in our RV. Anyway, if a place charges a "kid-tax" I can't rate them as excellent because that does not seem very family-friendly to me. We camped at Thousand Lakes RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice enough campground near Capitol Reef NP. Mostly level gravel full h/up 50 amp sites. Wifi worked great and good cell and satellite reception. Very nice people and well stocked store with reasonably priced souvenirs. Would stay here again. Has cabins and tent sites also. We camped at Thousand Lakes RV Park in a Motorhome.

A very nice, neat park. Well cared for. Wifi worked great, gravel sites needing minor leveling. Great views. Best CG in area in MHO. We camped at Thousand Lakes RV Park in a Motorhome.

Used the park for an overnight while passing though the area. Level gravel sites. Good working electric. Bathrooms and showers have a rustic look but were modern and clean. Staff was friendly and respectful. Being April, it appeared there were mostly traveling retirees staying while we were here mid-week. We had a back-in W/E only site. Back-in sites are designed so you can park your vehicle next to your rig (in front of your picnic table). Since both occupants on either side of us chose to park this way, it made our site feel a bit squeezed in. There is a nice grassy play area in the middle of park which was a nice spot to sit and relax with our dogs. Kudos to the park as it was real grass, not just a weedy field! Would stay here again if in the area but would probably opt for a pull-through to avoid possibility of neighbors that park cars tangent to their trailer. We camped at Thousand Lakes RV Park in a Motorhome.

As many know, I do not give out 10's but this rv park is a very high 9. Sites are large and nice - gravel and grass. Staff is great. And prices very reasonable. In the 178 different rv parks we have stayed they have, by far, the finest gift shop of any. And reasonably priced. Laundry was great - did not use the restrooms. Highly, highly recommend Thousand Lakes. We camped at Thousand Lakes RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Capitol Reef, of course. And the Escalante Highway drive Torrey to Escalante (not recommended for RV's).

After reading all the rave reviews, we were slightly disappointed in this park. Our site was level and wide enough for our slides but too short to park our truck either in front of or behind our 40' trailer; we had to park across in front of the trailer in order to stay off the road. The roads were well-maintained gravel. There was plenty of grass due to plentiful water and it was neatly mowed. The laundry was very small with only 2 washers and dryers. The restrooms were clean but very small and could use an update. The store had a huge selection and unbelievable low prices. The staff was helpful and friendly but we were not escorted to our site. The views from the campground were fantastic. The wi-fi was extremely slow and there was no cable but we were able to pull in several stations with the antenna. We camped at Thousand Lakes RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

There were several small restaurants in Torrey but the Red Cliffs Restaurant was really great. They had gluten-free pizza and pasta plus a wide selection of burgers including bison and elk.

Good Sam rate for a level, pull-thru, FHU, 50 amp site for our 33' motorhome. Most sites have trees and some shade. Roads and sites are gravel. Park WiFi was slow and connection was unreliable. Verizon cell worked, but MiFi reception was poor. Satellite TV reception was good. The park was quiet at night. We enjoyed our three night stay while visiting Capitol Reef National Park. We would stay again. We camped at Thousand Lakes RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Though groceries are available at the general store in Torrey, it would be better to stock up before arriving at the park.

Best park store going and the staff is as good as they come. Rest rooms are clean but a bit on the small side. Sites have shade, grass and tables and beautiful views all around. WiFi can get pretty slow when full but works well when the crowds leave. Overall, a very nice park. We camped at Thousand Lakes RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Nice restaurant a mile down the road towards town, Torrey Inn & Cafe.

This is a family-owned/operated campground with terrific views of the surrounding red rock features, and Torrey provides great access to Capitol Reef NP. Sites here are gravel pull-thrus that were easy to level. Nice cottonwoods throughout the CG give some good shade & break up the line-up of rigs. CG is appropriately landscaped and offers horseshoe pits, a pool, a playground, a big green lawn and several other recreational spots. WiFi was slow - we opted to use our hot spot instead; Verizon connectivity was good. Bathroom (only 1 toilet and shower in ladies room; two each in the mens) and laundry facility (2 w/d) were a bit of a hike to get to and were definitely in need of updates. We were only told about the facilities behind the office, but I think there are other bath/laundry places in the park - perhaps designated for the cabin users? We had a nice stay here and would definitely return. If they'd update the bathrooms and laundry room, this place would go from 'good' to 'excellent.' We camped at Thousand Lakes RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Going the extra mile, this CG features a Grill (we didn't order any food from here; menu looked to be grilled steaks with appropriate side dishes) and has fresh muffins available for 8am pickup in the office. If you want to drive for miles - pun intended ;o) - head down to Boulder, UT, and dine at Hell's Backbone Grill. Google it - it's a farm-to-table, exceptionally-rated restaurant in the middle of nowhere... fabulous!!!

Stayed 4 nights, our site was new so no trees, but good view of mountains. Personnel are super friendly and very good at their jobs. Lots of amenities if you wanted to use, great gift shop. Park was very clean and nicely laid out. Great base camp for Capital Reef touring. 2 laundries, nice restrooms. Loved how peaceful campground was. Want to go back again soon. We camped at Thousand Lakes RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Be sure to go to Historic Gifford home for yummy treats and gifts, also "you pick" fruit orchards.

Great amenities for families. Friendly staff. Well maintained. WiFi was weak when park was full, when it was empty it was better but still not good. Everything else was great. RV service next door which we had to use and were thankful it was there. They have nightly food service which we did not use but looked well attended. Out of town. Beautiful views. Amazing sunsets over the Mesa. We would go back if in the area. We camped at Thousand Lakes RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Gift shop on site had the best prices in town. They had a few essential groceries and ice. Loa, 16 miles away, had a Food Town and Lowes type hardware store with reasonable prices. Groceries in Torrey were HIGH.

Beautiful setting & sunsets...very nice and accommodating staff. Sites are reasonably size & good space to pull in and park...Site had concrete pad and was level. F/H/U + wifi all worked well. Pool is small but well kept. Roads were gravel & dirt. Bathrooms were fairly clean but old and in need of an update. No cable but we were able to pull in all the major over the air networks and a few others. We would come again. We camped at Thousand Lakes RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Not much in Torrey but on site there is RV/CarRepair and a beauty salon. Nearest real grocery is 18 miles away....so provision before coming.

When we made reservations, I told them we had a very large 45' motorhome. When we got there we were assigned a fairly short pull through that would not allow me to put out our slides due to tree limbs. They said we have Prevost's here all they time and they fit. Anyway they sent someone to check the site and the although he could cut one limb off, he couldn't cut two limbs off the tree. I was moved to another site that was not overly large, but we fit. The sites are gravel, most with shade. We never got the wifi to work, but that is not unusual for campgrounds. The pool is very small. The on site store has lots of things including local crafts. The prices seemed very good. We camped at Thousand Lakes RV Park in a Motorhome.
