This was conveniently located to Dinosaur National Monument and stock-up shopping and the campground met out needs well. We had no difficulty maneuvering our 35 ft. Wheel and ther was good shade. We camped at Fossil Valley RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Price is weekly rate. Easy to get in/out off of US 40 in Vernal. Interior roads are a mix of paved and gravel. Sites are gravel, level, with picnic table, and utilities worked well. Wifi varied from useless to decent. Verizon signal strong. Mostly treed so lots of shade and only a few sites get satellite reception. Sites vary in size and ease of navigation. Owner is very friendly and very helpful. I have to mention that there are times, day and night, when locals with very loud vehicles go by on the highway with engines revved very high generating a lot of noise. This is obviously no fault of the park but if you are a light sleeper it can be disturbing. We camped at Fossil Valley RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

First for the good: The grounds are clean (well except for all the tree branches on the ground from a storm which weren't picked up 2 days later). The washrooms and laundry are sparkling clean, although they charge 25 cents for 5 minutes of showering! The location is great; right in the town of Vernal. That's it. The rest is bad: The sites were short and narrow. We could barely fit our long bed truck and 30' fifth wheel on the site. We could not extend our awning due to a tree. The roads are navigable, but very tight. There is no place to walk the dog. There is no cable TV. Digital channels were pixelated and unwatchable. Road traffic can be heard due to the proximity to the highway. We awoke one morning to the loud sounds of a garbage truck at adjacent retail property. There are quite a few permanent sites. Some are kept well, but a number of very old rigs with tarps for roofs. We will never stay at this park again. We camped at Fossil Valley RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

No one in office. Self serve. We had a reservation and the sign said to just pick a site. If you don't have a reservation you self register. The sites are very shady. Enjoyed watching a 45 footer move from site to site until his roof top satellite found service. Nice grassy spots with plenty of shade. Part of the park seems to have permanents. Would stay here again. We camped at Fossil Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

Nice little park located right in town. The park is a little dated and the sites are close together, but easy to get in and out of. I have a 42' 5th wheel and didn't have a problem maneuvering through the park. Showers and laundry are clean and up to date. The owners are super friendly and will go out of the way for you. The wi-fi worked pretty good and the cable tv had limited channels. Not sure if a dish would work here with all the shade trees. The park is close to all kind of stores and close to many of the attractions in the area. Would stay here again. We camped at Fossil Valley RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The easygoing atmosphere is OK . The spaces are very close together. Extra charges for air, heater, showers, etc. are annoying. The cable TV is no longer provided and trees prevent sat TV. WiFi is very marginal. We camped at Fossil Valley RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

The owner manager was so nice and helpful. We pulled in to the park with some type of vehicle fluid leaking from our RV and he told us about it right away. He also told us where to find a Ford Dealer for repairs in the morning. The park was super shady on a hot day with grass between each site. The sites were spacious enough. It was centrally located in town. The free wifi was pretty good. Antenna tv worked fine there. The sites were all gravel but very level. Not buggy at all. We camped at Fossil Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

It was a good central location to visit Dinosaur National Monument, Flaming Gorge Recreation Area for the day, and don't miss the McConkie Ranch Petroglyphs 15 minutes from town. Vernal Utah is a cute little slice of Americana with everything you need nearby.

Pk is in middle of town. Had FHU 50A pull thru, no cable, WiFI worked well. roomy level site. A nice small park has some permanents but sites all kept clean. Owner very friendly. Even let my husband hose off the bottom of MH. Nice grass between sites. We would come here again. We camped at Fossil Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

Park located in the middle of town on Hwy 40. Fairly level gravel sites with green grass between the slightly narrow sites. Some road noise but still easy to sit outside to enjoy our BBQ; due to the very tall shaded cottonwood and maple trees. Backs up to a high school soccer field. No cable, but Wi-Fi worked well. We camped at Fossil Valley RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Watch for the park entrance sign as it could easily be missed. Between a Mavericks Gas Station and O'Reilly Auto Parts, and directly across the street from Smith's Grocery .

A short distance away is a Wal-Mart.

There are many shops, stores and fuel locations...plus many site-seeing and museums to visit.

Fossil valley RV park is fine for what it is - a park located in the center of town that can serve either as a stop-over after being in the wilderness or as a central point from which to travel and explore the region.

Vernal is a medium sized town with every amenity you can imagine - the Smiths grocery is walking distance across the street from the RV park. Vernal is also near the Flaming Gorge, 2 state parks just to the North (on the way to the Flaming Gorge) and just west of all the fossil sites to visit in eastern Utah and western Colorado.

Sites are tight, but you're not there to spend the day in the park; stay there for the location and what Vernal has to offer and the rate charged which for the area is very competitive. We camped at Fossil Valley RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Easy access, fresh unlevel gravel sites, paved roads.

You will pay 25 cents for each 1 1/2 minutes of water in the shower.

Meaning, by the time it's hot and you do your thing, a buck and a half.

A Chisel. We camped at Fossil Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

Only stayed one night. Park office not always manned during the day. Nicely shaded sites. Good WiFi. Right in the downtown area of Vernal, just a little hard to find, only small signs visible from hwy. I paid for 50 amp electric only. Water & sewer are $1 more each. Air-conditioning was $1 additional. We camped at Fossil Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

Fossil Valley RV Park is right in the middle of town on Hwy 40. The staff is extremely friendly and freely offers travel and sight seeing information. Level gravel sites with lush grass between the sites are well back from the road with no road noise, and there are no train tracks anywhere! It is directly across the street from Smith's Grocery and right next door to a Maverik gas station. The sites are all large and very well shaded with mature cottonwood and maple trees. All tree limbs are pruned to accommodate any height rig. You won't be sorry you read this and picked this park! We camped at Fossil Valley RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Shaded, level sites, convenient location in town. No cable, adequate wifi (we were very close to the office), showers were 25¢ per 1.5 minutes. Since the park is set at an angle to the road and we were close to the front, the road noise was significant; earplugs were necessary to sleep with the windows open.
