Big rig friendly with level sites. Easy access to US 40. WiFi, showers, laundry, dog park, and cable was good. No problem with satellite. We camped at Vernal / Dinosaurland KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Very nice campground and well maintained. Made the reservation online and stated that I wanted a satelite view. We arrived midday and office was closed but a map and information were ready for us. We had a pull through site on the first row that was good for satelite. Site was gravel, fairly level and roomy with a paved patio. Utilities were in a reachable location. Water pressure was good and electric was stable. Staff was friendly and helpful with our needs and questions. There is a well stocked store. We only had 2 days here but would like to return again. Our only complaint was the added traffic and vehicle noise from the permanent residents that occupy the rear portion of the property. We camped at Vernal / Dinosaurland KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

We came to the area for Dinosaur national monument and stayed mid-week. the park was about half full. We called when we were an hour out and they got us right in. The campground is well kept with mostly pull through sites. ours had a concrete patio. The host guided us to our camp site and checked back after a bit. we found the park easy to navigate with our car in tow. the site was plenty large for our 35' and toad to stay connected. We typically avoid the KOAs as they are usually over priced for us. but we like to get a pool for the kids and this one was the best in the area. there was a bounce pad, nice play park and the pool was clean and warm. the hosts were very friendly and made us feel welcome. Verizon and ATT were spotty neither worked very well but it did work well in town. The wifi at the park was acceptable from our site. We camped at Vernal / Dinosaurland KOA in a Motorhome.

Very spacious site with full hookups. We were backed into an area in the back with lots of quiet. This was a park VERY set up for kids. Pool and big outdoor area for playing. They even had a large inflated rubber semi dome for kids to jump on. This park is very close to Dinosaur National Park. It is fairly close to Flaming Gorge National Monument. I recommend highly going to both. The drive up to Flaming Gorge is beautiful. Dinosaur is a large park with varied terrain. We went on a ranger led hike while there. We camped at Vernal / Dinosaurland KOA in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This park has three distinct sections: "premium", "standard", and "Big Rig". The first row has patios and extra amenities. The second is comprised of shorter and narrower sites packed tightly into a row of mature trees. The back row (where we were) is a wide open field with relatively long pull-thru sites. Interior roads are paved but crumbling (potholes) and relatively narrow. Our site was plenty long and almost level, but the gravel strip was narrow and it was tough to make the 90-degree turn without driving on the grass (expanding the entry and exit aprons would be a big improvement). We were far enough away from the tree line that we were able to get DirecTV. Park Wi-Fi was decent, with minimal slowdowns at peak periods. We got a good VZW signal. OTA TV access was good. Good power (no real voltage drops at peak times) and an adequate laundry. Parking along the front side of the office made navigating the tight 90-degree turns to exit harder. We camped at Vernal / Dinosaurland KOA in a Motorhome.

This is one of the nicest KOA Parks we have ever stayed in. Sites are all very large mostly level pack gravel surface. There are both pull through spots and back in spots available. Our back in spot was in a newly renovated area in the left rear of the park. It was exceptionally large with shade trees and grass and no road noise. As it had just been recently redone there were some dirt areas where the grass had not filled in. The utility tower was towards the rear of the site but was easily accessed with our mid coach electric cord. Water pressure was high and sewer attachment was easy to access and drain using one hose. Pull through sites are closer to the front of the park and had more than enough room even for large rigs. Many had cement patios with a shade cover. Cable was available but we got good OTA television service. Both AT&T and Verizon had good reception for cell and data. There is large open areas for dog walking as well as a shaded dog park. We did not use any of the facilities however the pool was open and looked well maintained. Vernal is just a short drive and has large shopping areas, multiple commercial and regular fuel stations and many restaurants. We would stay here again if we were in the area. We camped at Vernal / Dinosaurland KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Dinosaur National Monument was about a 20-minute drive and well worth the time. The Quarry should not be missed and the petroglyphs along the cupboard Creek Drive or easily accessed and exceptional. Both the Heritage Museum and the Dinosaur State Museum in the town of Vernal were exceptionable. Children would love the Dinosaur Museum as there are life-size replicas as well as an interesting layout and many child-centered activities.

Tips for other Campers:

Red Canyon was beautiful. Dinosaur National Monument was a bit disappointing, but ok since we were in the area. Fantasy Canyon was interesting but REALLY off the beaten path. Flaming Gorge Damn was a pretty area. Ouray National Wildlife preserve was interesting. Saw deer, wild horses, porcupine, and other critters. Breakfast at Naples Country Store was great.

Nice KOA. Owners have been putting in lots of improvements like widening the sites, making premium sites, dog park, bathrooms. It's a nice place. Our was a long pull-thru. The dog park was small but kept up with a very large grass area around it to walk the dog. Bathrooms were clean. Front desk people and hosts and hostesses were friendly and helpful. Close to town and quite at night with little or no traffic. Down the road is the Dinosaur NP and the Green River. We'd stay here again. We camped at Vernal / Dinosaurland KOA in a Motorhome.

This park worked a great as a "home base" while doing day trips to Dinosaur National Monument and Flaming Gorge NRA. Site was a bit narrow for slide-outs, but I was able to fit. I did not use the park's WiFi, so cannot comment. My satellite dish worked fine and I was able to get several local broadcast channels with my antenna. Staff was very friendly and helpful. My only complaint was the main road through the park, which doubles as an access road to mobile homes behind the park and added to traffic (not obeying the speed limit) near my site. We camped at Vernal / Dinosaurland KOA in a Motorhome.

Dinosaur National Monument has a lot more to offer than fossils. I enjoyed beautiful views of the Green River, an extensive array of petroglyphs and several hiking trails. Flaming Gorge NRA is another beautiful place. Unfortunately, it rained the day I visited, so my activities there were limited.

Good Verizon and AT&T connectivity. Fairly good wifi (although it kept dropping the connection). DTV Satellite worked from our site (26) and cable was fairly broad selection. Park was attractive although lacked scenic views. Nice dog park, our site had concrete pad with table and fire pit. It was spacious with fence to separate the spaces. Lots of activities like pool, putt putt golf, play area for kids etc. Location was near town yet quiet. We camped at Vernal / Dinosaurland KOA in a Motorhome.

Nice quiet park just far enough from town. We had a level site that had a patio with a triangle shade over it that was a nice touch but the pole holding the shade near the camper is right in the middle of the site. The shade provided only a little cover. Not much other shade in this site. The staff was very helpful and the park is very well maintained. WiFi and cable worked well. We would definitely stay again. This was a great stop to explore nearby Dinosaur National Monument. Our grand daughter especially enjoyed the crystal clean swimming pool. Our dog enjoyed the K-9 Camp and small agility course. Service was excellent with a nice camp store & an escort to our site. Yes, shade would have been nice, but the sites were grassy & the hookups efficient. We were trying to get from Grand Junction, CO to Manila, UT (Flaming Gorge) but a front came in and dropped snow in several of the passes north and south of Vernal. The staff at Vernal was really helpful in helping us evaluate the situation and suggesting a safe route to Vernal. They held a spot for us without the normal deposit. We made it to Vernal safely, the storms cleared and we were able to get to Manila the next day. So a 10 for service! The RV Park is nice, nothing fancy, certainly fine for an overnighter or to explore the Dinosaur National Monument. The roads and sites are gravel. Some overhanging branches to look out for and a couple tight turns. Our site was a bit narrow but level. The utilities worked fine. No cable bot over-the-air worked good. Some grass. Picnic table and fire pit. We camped at Vernal / Dinosaurland KOA in a Motorhome.

We were there early in the season when only a 1/2 dozen other campers were there. As a result we had lots of space, it was super quiet, and the wifi was fast. We stayed here to visit, Dinosaur NM, Flaming Gorge, and hike to the dinosaur tracks and also the petroglyphs. Plenty of room for big rigs to maneuver, and pull thru 50 amp sights plenty long too. Really nice people run this campground. We camped at Vernal / Dinosaurland KOA in a Motorhome.
