There was no one in the booth when we arrived at 3pm so we had to come up with $30 in cash. The sites themselves were large which was nice, but they were not level. I was really disappointed there was no view of the water although I took a short nature walk and had beautiful views of the bay. Full hookups was really great and our ATT signal was very strong but we were close enough to the highway that we could hear road noise. Overall I just felt it was overpriced for a one night stop over although I could see the value if you were going to take advantage of the water. We camped at Willard Bay State Park, Cottonwood Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We typically enjoy state parks, so that was the reason for choosing Willard Bay for our 4 night stay in the area. This park does not give the state park system for Utah a very good impression. First, the positives... Nice beaches on the lake and the day use areas looked very nice. The roads are easy to navigate, and the sites are spacious, paved and level. Each campsite has a nice covered picnic table. We had a full hook-up site with 30 amp. Enough to run one AC. The campground appears "shoddy" as the grass/weeds are not trimmed. It is very close to the interstate, and as others mentioned there is a lot of highway noise. We were overrun with flies and knats and were constantly spraying the area and using citronella candles while outside. The bath house appeared extremely old and not well taken care of. When we arrived, we were given a card to put on our dash and told the rules were on the back. No campground map was issued, so we relied on the verbal directions given at check-in to find the proper campground. We might consider this campground as a one night stop if passing through the area, but would not recommend as a destination stop. We camped at Willard Bay State Park, Cottonwood Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We had site 71 which unfortunately backs up to the low rent non electric area. It appears private as there are large trees between the area's but don't be fooled. We endured yelling and screaming and loud thumping music starting at 8:30 every morning and it was LOUD! Multiple complaints and the park ranger refused to shut them down. Multiple days of this. We traveled from NY to visit our relatives and the trip was ruined. If you get quiet neighbors, its a nice place. If not, find another campground because they won't do anything about it. Never again Willard Bay! We camped at Willard Bay State Park, Cottonwood Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Mixed reviews here. We had selected site 57 online. Mistake! Might have well parked on I-15 as far as noise is concerned. Later moved to a location further back which was a big improvement. Sites are a good size with fire rings, picnic table. and covered patio but the grounds were not well maintained. No 50 amp service. Bathrooms were unattractive and not particularly clean. Showers were suitable for solitary confinement prisoners in a very old prison. Interior roads were good and no problem to navigate. Host was very helpful in arranging a new site needed due to an RV maintenance problem. We camped at Willard Bay State Park, Cottonwood Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Really enjoyed our stay here. We actually extended it after getting here. Close to the water, large wooded sites, and convenient location make this a good spot. Proximity to the interstate is unfortunate but it wasn't so bad that it disturbed our sleep. Advertised Wi-Fi is worthless. We would definitely stay again. We camped at Willard Bay State Park, Cottonwood Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Good overnight stay with easy freeway access. Yes there is some road noise. Have easy circle in pull thrus as well as angular back is. Site was level. Unusual to find a state park with 50 amp and sewer at each site. Restroom was plain but clean. Park could use some grass and brush trimming. Good for an overnight when traveling thru. Somewhat pricey for a state park when you include the $8 online reservation fee. Would stay again if passing thru the area. We camped at Willard Bay State Park, Cottonwood Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

The park rules are sometime enforced, depending on who you talk to. The Park Ranger we dealt with was very unprofessional and rude. After traveling from Cheyenne WY, we arrived approximately 1 hour early from the official check-in time. The person at the toll booth checked us in, but advised we may have to hang around the park awhile, if our reserved campsite was occupied. It was empty, so we pulled in and begin sitting up. A Park Ranger arrived and told me we would have to leave as it was before the check-in time of 3 PM. To make a long story short, we stayed, but this ranger was confused as to the facts surrounding our checking in early. The park is generally poorly maintained, the bathrooms are not properly cleaned, and in general, the park staff could use some Customer Service # 101. We camped at Willard Bay State Park, Cottonwood Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice state park close to the water. Highway is close, but with the windows closed the noise is not too noticeable. Being mid week and cool weather, the campground was not busy and consequently quiet. Again, given the temp and the inability to utilize the lake, it would be nice if the price was a little lower. Otherwise, nice spot just north of SLC. We had a last minute family gathering for the weekend, and it was great fun. Dutch oven meals, walks to the Bay, Boat Dock and trails, Sunsets in the evening and good old campfires at night. The weather was pleasant and everything was peaceful. The only bothersome item is the inbound gate closes at 10pm, so if you were out till after it closed, you'd have to park out and walk in. There is a Host on-site and the restrooms were kept tidy. We camped at Willard Bay State Park, Cottonwood Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We used this park as to stay while snowboarding at Powder mountain and Snow Basin. We were the only ones in the entire park (January 2010), snow was on the ground and the lows were in the mid teens at night. The water worked all night even though I only put heat tape on my hose. I didn't like the location of the sewer (about 8 feet behind the power pedestal at site 7) so we used site 5's sewer as a dump on our way out. We didn't notice the highway traffic noise even though the park is right next to I-15. We camped at Willard Bay State Park, Cottonwood Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We had a family reunion here with 4 RV's. Weeds everywhere and no grass to speak of. The host kept telling everyone to stay off the grass. What grass? They have a sign up saying the gates close at ten and we would have to park outside the gate and walk to our camp. The state of Utah should be ashamed of this place. Next to the freeway with loud truck noise all night long along with the train that goes by a couple of time during the night. We will never stay here again. The ranger told us the reason the gates are closed at 10 was because their is a 10 PM quiet time. What about all of the freeway noise. What a joke. This campground has many positives but some negatives that would cause us to question staying here again. The road noise is constant but you get so you can ignore it. My main complaint was that we had several "extended" families camped aound us. All had dogs that they neither kept on leashs or picked up after them. This seemed to be the rule rather than the exception. All the camp hosts or Rangers had to do was ride through the park and see the rules were not being followed. As far as I know none of the offenders were reprimanded or cited. We camped at Willard Bay State Park, Cottonwood Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
