Willard Bay State Park (North Marina) Campground is located 15 miles north of Ogden and is immediately adjacent to heavily-traveled I-15. Our full-service, pull-thru campsite was spacious and set amidst a canopy of tall shade trees. Most sites - including ours - had a gazebo-covered picnic table that was set on a concrete pad. Physically, there is so much to like about the CG; however, intense 24/7 I-15 road noise limited our stay to one night. We camped at Willard Bay State Park, Cottonwood Campground in a Travel Trailer.

An outrageous price for a state park without any WIFI and only 30 amp, but the location worked for us. We did have a pull thru spot where we could leave our fifth wheel & truck hooked up together. It was a large site and we had no neighbors within eye sight (probably because it was late Sept). We could hear the highway noise some, but it did not bother us inside the fifth wheel. Gazebo area at our site. We camped at Willard Bay State Park, Cottonwood Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

This is a nice campground with campsites large and well defined, and if campers have a boat, it's a good place to stay as it's convenient to put your boat in less than a quarter mile away. Each campsite on our loop has a covered table on a cement pad, fire ring, in addition to a pull through for an RV. And it's a good value for the money. Having said that, I-15 is a couple hundred feet to the east and constantly busy. In addition, train tracks are a few more feet to the east with a road crossing a few feet north. So if you're a camping in a tent, there's no way you're gonna miss hearing the sounds of the freeway 24/7, or the train, especially when the whistle blows for the crossing. We camped at Willard Bay State Park, Cottonwood Campground in a Tent.

Overall Rating:

The campground is nicely laid out with plenty of space between spots and knolls and trees for privacy. Unfortunately, the noise from the nearby freeway is so bad that it makes hanging out outside rather unpleasant. We ended up shutting all the doors and windows and using the AC (since there are full hookups) just to have some peace. It's unfortunate, because between the beach, the boating, and the fishing, this could be a great place. We camped at Willard Bay State Park, Cottonwood Campground in a Travel Trailer.

The fall foliage was stunning. VERY close to a busy freeway, so noise is a factor. Also close to a train track/crossing, although I only heard two go by, one at 8:30pm and the other at around 8:30am. Signage at the unmanned check-in kiosk was confusing, stating rates for the high season but nothing for off season. I Googled the park and determined the rate is the same year round. Interior roads were somewhat confusing, but wide enough to navigate. We camped at Willard Bay State Park, Cottonwood Campground in a Motorhome.

There was no one in the booth when we arrived at 3pm so we had to come up with $30 in cash. The sites themselves were large which was nice, but they were not level. I was really disappointed there was no view of the water although I took a short nature walk and had beautiful views of the bay. Full hookups was really great and our ATT signal was very strong but we were close enough to the highway that we could hear road noise. Overall I just felt it was overpriced for a one night stop over although I could see the value if you were going to take advantage of the water. We camped at Willard Bay State Park, Cottonwood Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Okay for an overnight stay but nothing special. Camp host was very friendly. Lake available for people who wanted to fish but the dumpsters were so smelly near the lake that it wasn't pleasant to be nearby. Did have a short walking trail. We typically enjoy state parks, so that was the reason for choosing Willard Bay for our 4 night stay in the area. This park does not give the state park system for Utah a very good impression. First, the positives... Nice beaches on the lake and the day use areas looked very nice. The roads are easy to navigate, and the sites are spacious, paved and level. Each campsite has a nice covered picnic table. We had a full hook-up site with 30 amp. Enough to run one AC. The campground appears "shoddy" as the grass/weeds are not trimmed. It is very close to the interstate, and as others mentioned there is a lot of highway noise. We were overrun with flies and knats and were constantly spraying the area and using citronella candles while outside. The bath house appeared extremely old and not well taken care of. When we arrived, we were given a card to put on our dash and told the rules were on the back. No campground map was issued, so we relied on the verbal directions given at check-in to find the proper campground. We might consider this campground as a one night stop if passing through the area, but would not recommend as a destination stop. We camped at Willard Bay State Park, Cottonwood Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We had site 71 which unfortunately backs up to the low rent non electric area. It appears private as there are large trees between the area's but don't be fooled. We endured yelling and screaming and loud thumping music starting at 8:30 every morning and it was LOUD! Multiple complaints and the park ranger refused to shut them down. Multiple days of this. We traveled from NY to visit our relatives and the trip was ruined. If you get quiet neighbors, its a nice place. If not, find another campground because they won't do anything about it. Never again Willard Bay! We camped at Willard Bay State Park, Cottonwood Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a great location to Ogden where you can stock up on groceries and get whatever you need. Also the Flying J right at the entrance to the park is good for getting gas and filling up propane. The sites are fairly large, level and private and the beach is beautiful and clean. The downsides are the staff doesn't maintain the grounds. Overgrown weeds etc. lead to a bit of a junky feeling around camp. Also there is no rule enforcement. I saw a park ranger drive by 1 time in a week. Road noise was really bad so don't plan on quiet here but inside the RV it was not noticeable. I've read some reviews talking about bug problems but I did not experience that. Having 50 amp full hookups at $30 is great for a state park. Connectivity was excellent. Verizon 5 Mbps+ download, AT&T 30 Mbps+ download, T-Mobile (can't remember the speed but fast enough to stream) - All unboosted. TONS of OTA channels. I would stay here again if I had a need to stay around Ogden. Site accessibility (good roads, easy to navigate, level site) - 4 Campground location (Easy off the hwy, but road noise was bad) - 2 Nearby amenities (Everything 15 min away) - 4 Site Privacy (large sites, good privacy) - 4 Campground amenities (50 amp FHU, no cable) - 4 Dog friendly (Dogs allowed everywhere but not a lot of walking trails) - 3 Activities (Awesome beach, short walking trail) - 3 Cost ($30/night for FHU, no cable) - 4 Staff (Friendly but limited site maintenance and no rule enforcement) - 2 Connectivity (Decent Verizon, excellent AT&T, T-Mobile good, tons of OTA channels) - 4 Total rating = 3.4. We camped at Willard Bay State Park, Cottonwood Campground in a Motorhome.

Bonus shout out to Sierra RV, which is about 10 miles away. I had an issue with my RV door handle. The spring popped out. I took it there, they fixed it for me, no charge. Very nice RV shop there, and HUGE, clean, new with tons of bays. If you need anything done, give them a chance.

We camped here for three nights on lot #69, 6/05/17 thru 6/08/17, would have stay longer, but site was reserved. Verizon cell was full five bars, air card was same. Site was a pull thru with 30 amps., water, and sewer. We were in a 35' Motor home had no problem keeping cool. Noise was no more than any CG close to a Hwy. We camp here about every three years. Could be a nice location but too close to the freeway, substantial noise! We spent only one quick night with air conditioning running, and for that it was adequate. I would consider this place again for an en route stop, but would never choose this as a "destination park" - it would not be enjoyable outside due to the constant noise. Note that many of the pull thru's require that you go the "wrong way" down the loop so be aware as . Note also that it is 30 amp service, so with temps in the 90's, ran the generator until sundown so we could run both AC's. We camped at Willard Bay State Park, Cottonwood Campground in a Motorhome.

Mixed reviews here. We had selected site 57 online. Mistake! Might have well parked on I-15 as far as noise is concerned. Later moved to a location further back which was a big improvement. Sites are a good size with fire rings, picnic table. and covered patio but the grounds were not well maintained. No 50 amp service. Bathrooms were unattractive and not particularly clean. Showers were suitable for solitary confinement prisoners in a very old prison. Interior roads were good and no problem to navigate. Host was very helpful in arranging a new site needed due to an RV maintenance problem. We camped at Willard Bay State Park, Cottonwood Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
