Beautiful park! Hosts are very friendly! The camping fee INCLUDES taxes. Wonderful pull-thru site. Very pet friendly! When you arrive, the door says office upstairs, this is a real steep staircase, so I went in to register since my spouse cannot do stairs. Immediately the owner told me to have my spouse pull around to the back where it is totally handicap accessible. If we could we would have stayed here more than a week! We camped at Greenwood Lodge and Campsites in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Robert Frost home in Bennington, as is Abe Lincoln's son's home. Lots of shopping and history in area. Vermont Route 9 arrives in the village with a view of the Old First Church, built in 1806, and restored in 1937. Frost lies in eternal slumber, just behind the church. The owners of this park can tell you more!

Located next to the old Prospect Mountain ski area, this campground has a great mix of wide open spaces and smaller rig camping tucked into the trees and hills. Several nice ponds are located on the grounds and a river walk thru a meadow is a nice touch. Our pull thru site was long and level with reasonable spacing. Water pressure was very good and the 50a electric stable. Our site did not have sewer but there is an easily accessible dump station. Wi-Fi was decent. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. Work was actively being done to upgrade the septic system. The lodge was undergoing some renovation and operates as a hostel also. We will definitely come back again. We camped at Greenwood Lodge and Campsites in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

If you have a big rig, ignore your GPS directions to enter the campground on Greenwood Dr. This has a steeper drop and is difficult to make a right turn out of when leaving. Use Prospect Access road located just a little further West and across from the country store. It's a piece-of-cake to come and go. This is a great base camp to explore Bennington and Vermont Shires from.

This park covers 200 acres with a lake, river walk, free use of canoes, wooded campsites as well as pull throws in the open. The park is very well managed. Utilities hook ups are excellent. Very quiet park out in nature. Close to historical Bennigton, VT. We camped at Greenwood Lodge and Campsites in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

There is much to see and do in nearby Bennington.

This campground is a true mountain getaway. There's trails, swimming, paddleboats, volleyball, and of course the usual camping amenities. In the common area of the office building (where the owners also live upstairs) there are boardgames and brochures for local attractions.

Verizon coverage is weak at best and AT&T is non-existent. Camp wifi is about 1 Mbit when camped very close to the office. Within the office/common area that goes as high a 3 Mbit.

The proprietors are very nice, upbeat and helpful. There is a leash-free area for dogs with access to the swimming pond. It really is a very nice place to camp for a restful, peaceful stay.

Bennington is the nearest town and is about 8 miles away. There is a general store down the access road and across the state highway with some basic provisions.

Driving from the west involves climbing up an 8% grade for about 3 miles. Coming in from the east has several hills over the course of about 30 miles to the interstate, but none are quite as steep. We camped at Greenwood Lodge and Campsites in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

A number of restaurants in Bennington. The Blue Benn Diner has generous portions, priced reasonably but is very small, popular, and busy. Jensen's just a few doors down is a good backup. Their fried chicken is very good.

I actually stayed at this campground last September. It is a lovely place, and the owners are friendly and helpful. The sites are large, and the ones surrounding the pond are especially nice. There are many trails for dog walking. I was there during an especially cold spell, and the campground is half way up a mountain. The temperature would drop about 10 degrees from Bennington to the campground, but on a hot summer day I think it would be very refreshing. The handicapped facilities here are fantastic---I have severe arthritis and have mobility issues, and I was very appreciative of the fact that the handicapped bathroom was so thoughtfully laid out. The regular facilities were spotlessly clean, too. We really enjoyed this campground and would definitely return. We camped at Greenwood Lodge and Campsites in a Tent Trailer.

If this campground had sewer, it would be perfect. The owners are very pleasant and the campsites are well developed. Big grassy areas to walk the dog beside the roads and trails. The scenery in the fgall is beautiful. Close to Bennington and Manchester so you can go either direction to find shopping or attractions. We would return again and again. We camped at Greenwood Lodge and Campsites in a Fifth Wheel.

I liked this park and the owners. They have three lakes and boats/canoes available for use at no cost. Lots of open area to walk the dog. Easy park to navigate a 40' coach in. This area is very scenic with lots of hills and covered bridges. We camped at Greenwood Lodge and Campsites in a Motorhome.

Located next to an old ski area. Its owners are nice and the place is very clean. Sites and roads are gravel. However, if you are a big (45 ft) MH you will find your options for sites some what limited, so call in advance. That said, it is a good stop over to the east of Bennington, in fact, I think it actually is located in Woodford. We camped at Greenwood Lodge and Campsites in a Motorhome.

Breathtaking view of the greenbelt region of Vermont and the Appalachian Mountains. This campground was very accommodating and after we stayed we wished we had longer. Many things to do in the campground, canoeing, paddle boats, etc, and there was no extra cost at the time, a plus in an economy that is on the cusp of getting better. The service, campsites and view were everything and owners were a wealth of information. I highly recommend this campground. We camped at Greenwood Lodge and Campsites in a Travel Trailer.

This is a nice park that is far enough off Highway 9 to greatly reduce highway noise. Access is easy if you use the Prospect Access. Road to the park is gravel in fairly good condition and interior roads are gravel in good condition. The park is very neat. The pull-through sites are a little close together, but at least there is a strip of grass, a picnic table and fire ring at each site. They are long enough to park the toad behind. Our site was not level. Utilities worked well: there is no sewer hookup. Wi-Fi worked well and there are six or so TV channels: no cable TV. Payment is by cash or check only. This park would be a ten for me if the sites were a little more level and there was sewer hookup. We will always choose this park when we are in the area. We camped at Greenwood Lodge and Campsites in a Motorhome.

This was a one night stopover for us on our way to Maine. It was middle of the week and raining, so the campground was not very crowded. There are nice trails around several ponds where we could walk the dog. We camped at Greenwood Lodge and Campsites in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a nice park in the woods of Vermont. It's close to everything but far enough away to be isolated from the noise and lights. Tent sites are spectacular! Each one is isolated from the others and each has a great view. However, we stayed in a motorhome in a pull-through site very close to the other sites with no trees or foliage. View was good and the site was very quiet. Ease of access and egress was very good and the dirt roads are easy to navigate. Wi-Fi is excellent and the dump station was convenient (there's no sewer hook-up at the sites). We would stay here again. We camped at Greenwood Lodge and Campsites in a Motorhome.

This is a really nice campground, run by a couple who live there and are helpful and friendly. There are three ponds and plenty of room to walk around. The main pull-through sites are fairly close together, but usable. There are no sewer hookups at the sites, but there is a dump station on the way out. The remaining sites are spread out through the wooded area, but are small and appear to be mainly for tents or smaller RV's. Very good Wi-Fi is provided. We camped at Greenwood Lodge and Campsites in a Fifth Wheel.
