Jul 2016 - $37.00
Our site overlooked a very nice creek and it was quite large. The owners were very helpful as we needed repair on a tire and they had someone come to see us right away. - Barb Stout
Jul 2016 - $37.00
We stayed here four nights on our way back from Acadia National Park in Maine. It was the 4th of July weekend so lots of locals were there. Nothing very special about this place but it was ok for what we needed. There is a creek that runs next to the park and it is beautiful.
The major negative is the internet. They have about 6 different "sites" to connect to but it was hit or miss, mostly miss, with all of them. Forget getting internet from your camper. They claim it is an older system that they will be replacing. The internet even right next to the pool or office many times did not work.
We are told they are new owners since March 2016. They are nice but very laid back...almost too much. Never really saw them.
They did have a live country band Saturday night and they were great. A train does come through in the evening so just a little warning. One night it came passing through at 4:00 AM.
I would stay here again if we were passing by but wouldn't go out of my way to stay here. It was recommended to us by an RV blog to stay here. I think there are better places. - aka4170
Jun 2016 - $42.00

Sep 2016 - $10.00
The park is, for the most part, laid out in terraces so everyone has a beautiful view. Large grassy pull through sites with FHU. WiFi was great. - Duramax1217

Beautiful grassed campground with a nice view of the Green Mountains. - Dragoon
Sep 2006 - $14.00
This is a very small, well run park. Our family loved it. While there is no swimming availability at the camp ground the owners are very willing to give directions to local swimming holes and rivers. The owners were wonderful to us, helping us out in any way we needed. When they found out that we were in the area to do some genealogy they introduced us to a local historian and gave us lots of information on the area. The grounds themselves are lovely. We stayed in a shady site that was more than generous for our pop-up. This is not the place to go if you want tons of activities for the kids or big swimming pools and entertainment. It is camping like it was meant to be: clear stars at night, peaceful woods and fields and family around the campfire. The kids loved the hike to the cliffs. The bathrooms were flush toilets and free hot showers. Very basic, but clean and with plenty of hot water and toilet paper! We will definitely stay here again!! The web site was great with pictures of each site and really a true to life description of the whole campground. No hype and down to earth. - nony0
Sep 2016 - $45.00
We found the check-in to be very easy. The road into the campground was beside a mobile home park which was not very attractive but once in the campground it was nice. We were in a 43 foot motorhome with a tow vehicle and found it easy to navigate to our site. The campground is beside a lake which allows catch and release fishing. There is also swimming allowed in the lake and there is also a small water park in the campground. It was a very quiet and relaxing campground. The owner/manager was very nice and helpful. Most of the sites are back-in sites with plenty of room for our tow vehicle. It is close to many interesting things to see and do and only 30 miles from Montpelier. We will definitely return when in the area. - John & Bobbie
Jul 2016 - $41.00
The views from this park are excellent. The hosts are friendly. Our site was level, and the hookups were well placed. They had cable, and we were able to get satellite signal with no problem. They had WiFi with good signal strength. Those are the good points. The bad points are you are in a valley surrounded by forests. Cell signal was nonexistent on our smartphone but if I stood outside I could use my little throw away phone. Same service so go figure. There is not much to do in the immediate area, nor are there many restaurants. If you stay here I strongly suggest getting the gate card. There is a $10 deposit, which is refundable when you turn it back in. We didn't take it because we tend to leave early before the office would open and understood there would be someone in the office to open the gate until 8:00pm. The few times we left we interrupted the hostess while she was talking to other guests to go into the office and push the button. The last time it was the host and we interrupted his yard work. He said "That is why we recommend guests get the gate pass." There is also a five dollar a day extra fee if you run your air conditioners, heat pump, or use your washer/dryer. This use is monitored according to their rules sheet. So don't try to use them without paying the fee. - Connie's Co-Owner
Oct 2015 - $38.00
Was a small park. Dog's were allowed in the bathroom, when reported owner he said we are "dog friendly". Nice wide and deep sites, good Wi-Fi. Walking path around lake. On check-in owner said we were lucky someone left early and we were placed in the middle of a group of nice people in a A-Liner rally in site 22. The owner I guess had forgotten he had told us we were in site 38 at time we made our reservations. Site 38 was occupied when we checked in they must have offered him more money who knows we had a nice site just be aware. - Tour n

Jun 2008 - $40.00
Nice family campground. Big meadow for large rigs and motorhomes. Plenty of secluded tent and pop-up sites. Lots of riverfront sites for tents, with easy access into the water - jofus
Jul 2016 - $43.00
The office is hidden up a rather narrow and bumpy gravel drive. Go slow, you'll be fine. Grass sites are nice and long with plenty of room. Beware, however, it's only 30Amp service. Which was a little surprising given the cost. We had some warm days, so we had to juggle cooking with air-conditioning to avoid tripping the breaker.
Park owners are friendly and helpful.
Verizon service is pretty good, Sprint is not that great. - 5nomads
Sep 2014 - $35.00
I'm noticing that Campgrounds in Vermont are not all that great. And this is another one that seems tucked away and a little tight to get into. Once in we were fine. But there may be a better choice nearby. However, the host was very friendly and very helpful. We couldn't get satellite but we had local stations on antenna. Maybe if we moved forward or back 6 feet either way we might have had sat. The electric was good as were the sewer and water hookups. I don't thinker we'd go back here as there is another CG close by, but we were fine with this choice. - TRDAWG
Sep 2013 - $35.00
Campground just outside of Barre, VT in Graniteville was very nice and woodsy. Quiet, away from traffic. Nice large sites on grass. One issue: serious voltage fluctuations. Glad we were not there in the Summer. We were there in mid September for leaf peepers. - XQ46
Sep 2013 - $20.00
This is a very nice state park located on Lake Dunmore. The campground is divided into two camping areas, separated by a road. We stayed in the open, grassy, area by the lake. The other camping area is heavily wooded. Both areas have restrooms with flush toilets and hot showers ($). While I don't like having to lug quarters with me to the shower house, at least the water was hot, and the restrooms were Very clean. However, there was no hot water facet in the sink, which I found odd, and a bit inconvenient if you just want to wash your hands or face. There was only one shower in the bath house where we were. For 17 sites I can imagine it would get busy in the summer. As it was, we were one of only two campers there for two days of our stay, so it was not an issue for us, and on the third day we did not attempt to use the showers as we were heading home. The showers were not handicapped accessible, though there was a small bench in the dressing area (none in the shower itself), which was difficult, as I have severe arthritis. But I managed. If it were not for these small issues I would have given the park a definite 10 as it is very pretty, and the rangers are very nice and helpful. Plenty of area to walk the dog, and though dogs are not allowed on the swimming beach, they are allowed to swim by the boat launch area, which made our dog very happy. The camping area by the lake is very park like with beautiful maple tress and plenty of shade. I would definitely stay here again. - nativemainer
Sep 2015 - $45.00
I found this campground a quiet gem. It is a CG on one side of the street and the marina across the street on lake dunmore. The CG has electric and water at the sites. The driveway has gravel but grass all around. The sites up front are level but in the back of the. CG where seasonals are it is hilly. There is a nice babbling brook on site also. The CG is clean and well maintained. Everyone was friendly, from registration to the girl at the small camp store. There is a beach and marina where you can rent motorized boats, canoes and paddle boards. The lake is lovely and clean...even though we caught no fish! There is a pub style restaurant right on the water . I would definitely return here. - Winnebago Wanderers
Aug 2009 - $30.00
We have camped here a couple of times this year. This campground draws my family back often it seems. We have friends that have a seasonal there that love it lots. They are trying to talk us into a seasonal here. My wife and I have talked about it and thought we just might. This last stay this year we were going to talk to the part owner until we found out about the bugs. That entire area including kampersville is horrible with bugs. So we now will be staying a month early in the season when they're not around. They try and spray twice a week it helps a little. This campground is very nice. They have a beach with water toys for the kids and sandy area for them to play in or lay in your chairs. Boat rentals and dock space is also available. Our site that we have stayed at every time we go is perfect. We have a river behind us and the lake in front of us. Our site is BIG with plenty of room to roam. I backed our fifth wheel into the space and it was perfectly level without any blocking. The staff is very pleasant and eager to help in any way. The bathrooms/showers are nice as some of the buildings are brand new. We can't wait to go back next year and enjoy another stay. - HappyCampers5

My favorite campgrounds. Super clean and excellent maintenance of sites. Fire rings with adjustable and removable cooking grates! Water is available as well as a dump station at the bathroom shower building. Very quiet, well maintained hiking trails. Your hosts are wonderful people! - jofus

Had to move from a nearby CG due to insufficient voltage (Green Mountain Family Campground). Found this on advice from fellow camper. They had a FHU pull thru available. Would stay again. - Retired Lt
Jul 2016 - $25.00
Busy place on weekends. Full of tents and happy families. 2 pools and lake shore swimming very nice. Shady sites OK to maneuver into with out 25ft Class C. Park hosted a dance both nights. All ages in together. One neighbor started getting loud and rowdy, but only for a short while. All quiet all over on time and folks were generally quiet in the mornings too. I would go back for sure. Big storm blew over power pole, no elec for a few hours, even the store had no power but all got along and it was a good stay. - cherish
