21 RV Parks near Bristol, Vermont
Aug 2017 - $30.00
Definitely geared more toward tent campers, but you could definitely make it work with a smaller RV. Our site was very large, grassy, and well-shaded, with beautiful wildflowers along the perimeter, and a babbling brook running along one side. However, it was definitely not geared toward RVs. Took quite a bit of finagling to back in, and the electric box was on the "wrong" side, so we had our door facing the outer perimeter of the site, and had to walk around the camper to get to the picnic table, fire, etc. Was also quite a hike to the bath house, but we knew that going in. That all said, it was a beautiful, peaceful, spacious site, and we were able to make it work. Saw a few larger sites in the field section, which would have been easier to back into, but none of them had shade or electric. We knew the trade-offs we were making in order to have those things when booking, and were pleased with our site choice overall. This is a very small campground on a private farm, and while the setting is beautiful, there aren't many amenities. We knew that going in, and we weren't expecting the Taj Mahal. However, I was still a little taken aback by some of the facilities. Bath house was, um, quite primitive. It is solar-powered, but situated in a pretty wooded area. Was very dim inside, even when we visited during the middle of the day. There were 2 toilet stalls with plywood doors, one shower stall, and one small sink (ran out of hand soap halfway through our stay, and owner added some water to make it last a bit longer). Definitely brought me back to my days of summer camp :) While quite buggy, and not very clean overall, everything was in working order, and we were fine using it during our stay. There is a small, cute wooden playset near the bath house that could also use some TLC (one swing broken, huge wasp nest under slide). That all said, you'd be hard-pressed to find a campground in a more beautiful, peaceful, quintessentially Vermont setting. - Jenventola
Oct 2018 - $37.00
We stayed at the Green Mountain Family Campground for one month and we could not have chosen a better place as our base camp for exploring Vermont. All the sites are spacious, the campground is clean, friendly and well maintained. The hosts go out of their way to make sure your stay is a great experience. We have been traveling from Texas for over 3 months and this is by far the best campground we stayed in. Looking forward to our return trip to the area and staying again - highly recommend! - JTA
Jul 2018 - $40.00
A small and simple campground! Upon arrival we were greeted by the owner and he checked us in. He also gave us a guide to our site where he provided a 50 to 30 amp adapter for our site. The hook-ups were easily accessible on the site. The water pressure was good and so was the power. Wifi really worked well on our site. There is a small pool that did the trick after we set up. Although we did not use the facilities we did take notice on there cleanliness. - clw_man
Jun 2017 - $42.00
The park is now under new ownership, so I don't think the previous negative review is not applicable any more. We came here into a full service site while we searched the area for a summer cabin. We have been here for over 2 months now on a very reasonable monthly rate of $600.00. The wifi is the best we have had in over 12 years of RVing. The new owner, works night and day trying to upgrade the park and is very responsive to our needs. There is occasionally a problem with old wiring to some sites, but he is diligent at getting the repair made ASAP. We would definitely stay here again. The grounds are lovely and the sites are well spaced. It is a rural location and we enjoy taking walks around the the park. - User3667
Aug 2018 - $40.00
An excellent campground. Resident owners are friendly and diligent. Spacious riverside units. 30A power. Made our travels in Vermont that much special. We will return. - dhroberts
Jul 2017 - $42.00
This park is amazing! Right on the river and is beautiful. Level sites, clean bathrooms and great fishing. Would stay here again! - Leopita
Sep 2015 - $42.00
If you're and nature lover and looking for piece of God's country this is it! The river is beautiful, we watched osprey and eagles, herons and ducks, fly fishing, tubing, kayaking all right from our campsite.
Sites are right on the river, large, level, grassy and well maintained with water and electric. The grounds are beautifully landscaped.
The owners are welcoming, helpful and care that all campers are respectful of their neighbors and enjoy their peace and quiet.
Visitors are welcome, but if your looking to have a party this isn't that kind of place and that's what I loved about it, quiet and friendly.
Lots of places to visit and things to see, wonderful place to call home while you enjoy day trips. - cddebbie
Jun 2018 - $45.00
I was actually referred here by River Bend Campground in New Haven, as their one pull through site was being used. It really seems the campgrounds in this area are geared to seasonal resident. The staff was friendly and helpful. the campground is very well maintained and tended. Sites were level and in great shape. They have one site for non-seasonal campers, so it is hit and miss if they have an opening. - BounderPounder
Mar 2018 - $19.00
This park is fun to be at! It's right on the lake and there are walking trails, kids park, and a walk-in swimming pool. The sites are very spacious. The only thing is if it rains the water doesn't drain well and you better bring your rain boots because the lawns are filled with water. The kids love it here. - Debbie_mimi
Sep 2015 - $27.00
We stayed on a weekday so the park was mostly empty. Great water and mountain views. Good canoeing. Our site had no hookups. We did not use the public toilets, so I have no comment. Fresh water and dump station access was good. Access roads within the park were good. Every site was level. There no TV reception using a standard amplified antenna. - R V Camper
Sep 2015 - $27.00
Rate reflects required reservation fee which makes it a bit 'high' for no hook-ups. Add $2 for site with 'lake view' and No senior discounts. Activities and sites etc. remain as previous reviews. Most all sites in the big loop are in an open area good for solar and satellite, and would accommodate most any size rig despite the on-line suggestions. Fuel and grocery services are a bit away. Pool is only 3 feet deep, left over from the Girl Scout Park days. I liked this park as evidently do many 'locals' on the weekends, and would stay again for several days to make the daily average fee more reasonable. - SailorGolf
Sep 2015 - $45.00
I found this campground a quiet gem. It is a CG on one side of the street and the marina across the street on lake dunmore. The CG has electric and water at the sites. The driveway has gravel but grass all around. The sites up front are level but in the back of the. CG where seasonals are it is hilly. There is a nice babbling brook on site also. The CG is clean and well maintained. Everyone was friendly, from registration to the girl at the small camp store. There is a beach and marina where you can rent motorized boats, canoes and paddle boards. The lake is lovely and clean...even though we caught no fish! There is a pub style restaurant right on the water . I would definitely return here. - Winnebago Wanderers
Aug 2009 - $30.00
We have camped here a couple of times this year. This campground draws my family back often it seems. We have friends that have a seasonal there that love it lots. They are trying to talk us into a seasonal here. My wife and I have talked about it and thought we just might. This last stay this year we were going to talk to the part owner until we found out about the bugs. That entire area including kampersville is horrible with bugs. So we now will be staying a month early in the season when they're not around. They try and spray twice a week it helps a little. This campground is very nice. They have a beach with water toys for the kids and sandy area for them to play in or lay in your chairs. Boat rentals and dock space is also available. Our site that we have stayed at every time we go is perfect. We have a river behind us and the lake in front of us. Our site is BIG with plenty of room to roam. I backed our fifth wheel into the space and it was perfectly level without any blocking. The staff is very pleasant and eager to help in any way. The bathrooms/showers are nice as some of the buildings are brand new. We can't wait to go back next year and enjoy another stay. - HappyCampers5
Jun 2008 - $32.00
Park has nice sites, some open, some shaded, we were right by the river, other campers not to close, had privacy. Clean bathrooms, showers available. Nice miniature golf course. Walk across road to large store everything you need, as well as rec room with pool table, TV area, wireless computer hook up, lounge area, inside and on deck. Nice beach on Lake, with plenty of grass area for cookout. Rented boats available, large water trampoline for kids. animals aloud. Quiet, clean , would visit again. Dump Station. Nice owners friendly, A++ - Bairdred
Oct 2016 - $20.00
This is a great state park as long as you can be happy without hookups. There are several spots that work for large RVs in the open camping on the west. East side campground road is narrow and treed but great for smaller RVs/tents. Site 21 is creekside and very private and has been voted best campsite in VT. Clean beach for swimming, great hiking trails close by. Staff was excellent and helpful. Cell service was sketchy. - viadelmangos
Sep 2013 - $20.00
This is a very nice state park located on Lake Dunmore. The campground is divided into two camping areas, separated by a road. We stayed in the open, grassy, area by the lake. The other camping area is heavily wooded. Both areas have restrooms with flush toilets and hot showers ($). While I don't like having to lug quarters with me to the shower house, at least the water was hot, and the restrooms were Very clean. However, there was no hot water facet in the sink, which I found odd, and a bit inconvenient if you just want to wash your hands or face. There was only one shower in the bath house where we were. For 17 sites I can imagine it would get busy in the summer. As it was, we were one of only two campers there for two days of our stay, so it was not an issue for us, and on the third day we did not attempt to use the showers as we were heading home. The showers were not handicapped accessible, though there was a small bench in the dressing area (none in the shower itself), which was difficult, as I have severe arthritis. But I managed. If it were not for these small issues I would have given the park a definite 10 as it is very pretty, and the rangers are very nice and helpful. Plenty of area to walk the dog, and though dogs are not allowed on the swimming beach, they are allowed to swim by the boat launch area, which made our dog very happy. The camping area by the lake is very park like with beautiful maple tress and plenty of shade. I would definitely stay here again. - nativemainer

Had to move from a nearby CG due to insufficient voltage (Green Mountain Family Campground). Found this on advice from fellow camper. They had a FHU pull thru available. Would stay again. - Retired Lt
Jul 2016 - $44.00
We stayed here for a week Came in on a Sunday. I have been here several times. The last time was about 6 years ago. My kids always enjoyed it here. Plenty of activities for kids of all ages. Nice beach on Lake Dunmore where you can rent **very expensive** motorboats, paddle boards and kayaks. You can also listen to the foul mouths of teens between 14 and 17 cursing loudly in front of people with young kids. They were totally unattended. There is no lifeguard on duty to keep them inline. So don't plan on using the beach. The playground sits below where the septic pump out is located. The equipment is old and falling apart the screws are poking through wooden train benches and the graffiti was absolutely gross! This park has not been maintained and is dangerous. The roads are busy especially in the front end of the park. Once again tons of small children who were walking in front of cars, racing cars on bikes, and driving bikes out in front of moving cars.. Then you have the people who drive like idiots and exceed the speed limit of 5 MPH. We had site #25 and have a 33 foot camper. The worse possible spot for a TT. We didn't have trouble parking but it was tough to empty our septic at the location of the pumpout station. All in all I will not be bringing my grand baby back to this place. It has a lot of potential but there just is not enough people who work there who provide any kind of rule and order. So disappointed. as it has amazing hiking and berry picking not far from here. - FrogWhizzer
Aug 2018 - $34.00
What a great park. Owners are on site, very nice and take pride in their park. Pull through sites are long. FHU all work well. WiFi good. The seasonal are friendly. Had a band on Saturday nite and were very good. Laundry clean. Would stay here again when in the area. - milodog
Jul 2018 - $36.00
Many sites are seasonal but we had a pull-through site in a more transient row. Sites were fairly open and roomy but not spacious. It was quiet at night. There is a trail to the lakeshore. It is very scenic at the homestead with an old barn and the road going in has great views of the Adirondacks. - Hikers
Jun 2018 - $39.00
A nice and quiet out of the way RV park. It is not the best park for big rigs but we had no problem getting our 43' motorhome in and out of the site. We did have to disconnect the tow at the office as the interior road has a pretty tight turn. Nothing though to be alarmed about. Gravel interior roads and pads. Some trees so not sure satellite works in all sites but we didn't try. We have AT&T but only had a couple of bars sometimes just one. The office staff are great and the area is really nice. I recommend this park. - jeffnbarb
