Overall Rating:

Roads to the park are good, the road into the park has a narrow bridge with a weight limit of 27,000 lbs, but we went across it in our Class A as we had already turned onto the road and had no where else to go! The roads in the park are rutted so go slow. There was no check in as we paid in advanced. We did get led to our site but there was some confusion as to what sites were 30 or 50 amp. Sites are very unlevel, you can see the slopes and rolls in the ground. We ended up parking parallel to the hook-ups across a couple of sites - per their instructions - as there was no way to level otherwise. We had water and 50 amp electric, and there is a dump station on site. There was a fire ring and they brought us a picnic table when we requested one. The park is clean and very pretty, the grass really needed to be cut. There are lots of trials for hiking, one that takes you to the Rail Bed Trail and along another creek. There is no WiFi and our Verizon signal was good. No on site laundry. Some road noise but not too bad. Would love to give this a full star rating because it is such a nice place with the trails and river, but the unlevel sites and no WiFi, make that impossible. We stayed July 30 - August 6, 2018 and paid $28.57 a night with no discount. We camped at Onion River Campground in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

This park had heavily-potholed entry roads, traffic noise and no Wi-Fi. Our 30-amp, no sewer site delivered only 109 volts of electricity. The few spots with 50 amp and sewer were occupied by long-term customers. A bridge on the only access road had a 27,000 pound limit, a legalism frequently ignored to judge by the Class A motor homes in the park. Our satellite dish had no problems. Verizon phone/internet service was spotty. We camped at Onion River Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Epicurean restaurant Rainbow Sweets in nearby Marshfield is not to be missed. In operation for 40 years, the owner-chef serves lunch weekdays and has pastries all day and adds dinners on weekends. Berlin Pond has a paved fairly easy 5-mile bike loop shared with vehicles. The La Moille rail trail was an easy ride. Pizza at Mr. Z's in Berlin was very good.

Date of Stay: August, 2006 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Small campground along large stream under scattered tree canopy, some open meadow sites. Minimal road noise, very peaceful with mountain views. Convenient to Montpelier (12 miles), as well as Cabot Cheese tour, Barre granite tour, & several maple sugar shacks. Does have a 1 lane bridge w wt limit of 24,000 lbs (as best I remember), otherwise would be big rig friendly. Open April to October, phone 802-426-3232 We camped at Onion River Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
