This is a nice park about 25 minutes from Montpelier, VT. The park itself is set on lush rolling green landscaping with a really pretty pond. The grounds are kept very neat. There is a small swimming beach at the pond. There's also a long dog walk around the back and it was nice to have a good amount of walking for the dogs. The sites are a bit close together and we were on a full grass site. This makes leveling a bit tricky. We also had to drive through the grass to get to the site. I can imagine this would be problematic on really rainy/muddy days. 50 amp FHU with strong cable. The free wifi was really bad so we didn't use it. Cell hot spots were good. T mobile 15+ d/l, ATT 22d/l, and Verizon 29d/l. The bathrooms are not the greatest. They were old and had quite a lot of bugs/spiders in them. But they did keep them clean. There's also a small laundromat which we didn't use. Bulk propane is available and was reasonably priced and easy to get to. Location is right off the highway and roads in are in good condition and easy for even large rigs. Sites were easy to get into even w/ the oddity of driving through the grass. Roads inside the park are gravel. Grocery and shopping is convenient and there are plenty of things to do in the area. We camped at Lake Champagne Campground in a Motorhome.

Enjoyed our 5 night stay. Our site was an end site next to a field that is not part of the campground. WiFi worked well. Very well-run campground. We camped at Lake Champagne Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This is our third extended stay in this campground as we have family in the area and come through at some point every year. See below for my review from last year. The daily rate is a reflection of this extended stay. We stayed in the A15 - A30 row of sites although a different site than last year. Site was level and allowed for good satellite reception. As with last year the water pressure can be low at times when the campground is full. Other than that, utilities and standard definition cable work well. Wi-Fi continues to be very good for a campground. It can be a bit slow during full weekends and peak times but otherwise quite good. Adequate but not great Verizon coverage. The campground map is a bit deceiving regarding this row of sites. The map makes it appear as if the lower road can be used to access the sites but that is not the case. One must take a right at the dumpster location to approach this row of sites from the proper direction. We enjoyed another peaceful, relaxing stay at this lovely rural campground. It was very hot the last couple weeks we were there and many campers took advantage of the cool pond, the kids in particular. They continue to mow a beautiful walking and dog walk path around a distant hill which is a great walk for everyone. We'll be back. We camped at Lake Champagne Campground in a Motorhome.

Grass sites, hard packed gravel roads. Well kept park with plenty of grassy areas to walk the dog. Cable tv, wi-fi was good with extender. Pretty, scenic views. Adequate shade. Planned to stay one night then added two more due to concern regarding tires on dolly. We bought new ones and had them installed in town. Enjoyed walking the roads of the campground which covers a good distance because it is spread out. We camped at Lake Champagne Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is our second extended stay at this CG. It is easy on and off I-89 with gravel roads throughout and sites that are either gravel or grass. The campground is hilly but the sites are mostly level and roomy. A few require a bit of moving around to get the right spot but most are good. We drive a 45 foot MH and had no difficulty navigating the park. We did not have the tow attached but rigs do come through with tows that stay on for an overnight. Utilities work well enough with occasional low water pressure and sewer connections that are not threaded. Standard def cable TV works well and Wifi works very well for a campground. The grounds are absolutely lovely with lots of open space and fields. There is no enclosed dog park but they have a dog walk which goes around the perimeter of a very large field, the top of which has a great view of the campground and beyond. There is a small older pavilion for occasional activities and a fresh water pond for swimming. No specific activities for kids but there were many riding bikes, playing in the pond or fields or playing volleyball. This is the first year the current owners have had the place and are working hard to keep it spic and span and make improvements. They are very friendly and helpful as are the rest of the office staff. The park is about half seasonal guests and have short stay. We already have plans to stay here again next year. We camped at Lake Champagne Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The little town of Randolph is quaint with a good Shaw's Market and a great farmers market during the summer and fall. Main St. Tap and Grill is a nice little spot with limited but good menu.

The park is located in a very quiet and beautiful area. We had a pull-thru in the "A" section and the site was level and large. The park is also set up so there is no obstructed views of the open fields and area which is very nice. The park was pretty full during our 4 days and it remained very quiet. Rest rooms were dated but very clean. Only negatives are the distance to the restrooms from the site as well as dumpsters for garbage. The park has lots of room to walk and a great field for pets. We camped at Lake Champagne Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Our overall thoughts mirror RobS80. A few more comments: The wide open view rates excellent and was the best part for us. If you have a dog or kids, they will love running a playing in the big fields. There lots of amenities spread out over their property. We would definitely stay here again. The reasons we rated this just "Very Good" are minor but important if you are in the top row of sites. The tall pine trees that provide screening and shade also block satellite reception due to their height. Also the PTs are grass and the exit from your space is on to the slightly sloping grassy hillside. Not a problem for us, but certainly an odd egress. One other minor surprise was that the new owners have moved in to what was office and the clubhouse had their classic car parked in it. The lady who checked us in couldn't have been nicer but somewhat clueless about things such as where the boathouses and dumpsters were located. The nearest bath house was far enough away that either we had to drive our car to it or take a healthy walk. Also a bit funky in that there is only a cloth material separating the mens & womens from the laundry which is located in between (in other words, no interior doors between the laundry and restrooms). The wifi was excellent and AT&T coverage was sufficient. Hopefully the new owners (who we never saw over 5 days) will invest in the property as it is a terrific piece of land that can have much more done to enhance it even more. We camped at Lake Champagne Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a really good central location for exploring Vermont and traveling North & South through the state. There is a Military Cemetery and Memorial just down the hill from the campground

This was a well run campground. Check in was easy and owners very nice. Our site was a pull through with full hook up, we only needed a little leveling. We had cable, excellent Wifi, and a beautiful view of the lake and surrounding mountains. Sites were long enough for our trailer and truck. We had plenty of room to run out our awning without intruding on our neighbors site. The bath houses were quite a walk down the hill but we did not need to use them. Bath house was an older style but clean. Nice big field to walk dogs. Centrally located to visit sites in north and south Vermont. We camped at Lake Champagne Campground in a Travel Trailer.

They claim "3rd generation wi-fi" and it was really excellent. This campground is huge with different areas. A lot of "classic" sites, one next to the other, which seemed spacious enough. Section C was for those, like us, who enjoy privacy. Our site site was W/E but we could handle the absence of sewer for 5 days in exchange for privacy. The site was level, very private, no lights at night and the only reason we did not give a 10 was neighbors with noisy kids. We had the bad idea to leave our site from a back road. This would have been ok for a 4-wheel drive not an RV. Better stick to the mapped in-roads. The place is beautiful with a lot of walking possibilities. Bathrooms are clean and at the right places. The laundry room exists but the machines only wash with cold water, i.e. it's as if it doesn't exist. The owners and staff are very friendly and try their best to accommodate. They allow departure until 1 PM. They organize little gatherings, pot-luck, music etc. which are nice. Overall one of the best campground experiences for us. We camped at Lake Champagne Campground in a Motorhome.

Beautiful location in Central Vermont. Obvious pride of ownership. We stayed two weeks and are considering spending a summer here. There are a lot of seasonal sites that are fully occupied but well kept up and the people are very friendly. Great location; very quiet and private but easy for day trips to all parts of the state. We extended our stay and had to move between two sites...no problem. Great wifi! We camped at Lake Champagne Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

One comment about the lower sites; when you turn to your site you will be at an off-angle going downhill. If you've ever driven a tractor on a hill that's the feeling. Nothing dangerous but I discussed with several other guests and they were also concerned at first. We made it with no problems

We stayed in site #A8, a pull-thru with W/E/S/C. This site was just okay; there are ones with better views closer to the lake. Ours was all grass and very soft from recent rains, which we didn't care for. Their wi-fi was good and we had full LTE cell service (AT&T). There is a nice clear lake for swimming and fishing. The campground was fine, but to be honest, this is not at all a resort (listed in the official name) and the lake is small and sort of an afterthought. We were a little disappointed. When we checked in, they could not provide a map of the campground. There were new owners. When asked about tv channels, was told to look on the web site. Sites were nice, but there was nothing extra to do. The swimming was in a small lake. Selling the place as a resort, it fell short. Would not go back. This is a very scenic campground nestled in the Green Mountains with a large pond. The site was grass and, of course, it rained quite a bit and we started to sink. Were able to find some flat rocks to place under the jack pads and there was no more problem. There are only a few sites for big rigs. Very quite and peaceful. Verizon was weak but our hotspot worked OK. No cable but good antenna service. We would stay there again. We camped at Lake Champagne Campground in a Motorhome.

About a half hour drive to Shelburne, the Shelburne Museum is worthwhile-takes 4-5 hours to see all the buildings. Also a 40 minute drive to the Lake Champlain ferry over to Ausable Chasm.
