Very nice park, most sites back to a beautiful quiet river. Sites are large and mostly back in. Owners very friendly, and accomodating. Highly recommend this park. We camped at Moose River Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Convenience store within walking distance (1/4 mile or less) Whites grocery store about 1 mile towards St. Johnsbury. Cabot cheese factory about 18 miles, no tour, movie only and gift shop. You can buy the same Cabot cheeses at Whites groceries for less than at the factory. Granite museum in Barre, a little interesting, but save your money.

We stayed here last year for almost a week and loved being next to the "river" that flows behind the park. It is super peaceful. This year was a 2 night stay enroute to Bar Harbor. We camped at Moose River Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Moose Lake restaurant in Concord has some reasonably priced and decent food. It closes at 7 except for Friday and Sat which is then 7:30. The town of St. Johnsbury has some nice shops. If you have a dog, there is a huge dog park, (dog mountain),a few miles away that is a fun place to explore. Cabot creamary, covered bridges, "the bird man," (ask at the desk about him). Cheap golf in New Hampshire at the Maplewood Golf Club thru Golf now.

This is a beautiful campground. We had a site on the river and it was perfect. Quiet, mature campers. This campground is full hook up, including cable and wifi. No need to walk anywhere to get access. Loved the river side site. Nice sound to fall asleep to. Pets are allowed. Very clean and well maintained. Very friendly staff. Would go back in a heart beat. We camped at Moose River Campground in a Motorhome.

Grocery store and town close by. Great central location for visiting Cabot Creamery, Ben and Jerry's factory and Franconia Notch State Park (beautiful). Also, if you're a dog lover you are only 5 minutes from Dog Mountain (a must see for you and your dog).

Service deserves a higher rating than excellent. All of the personel are always at their best. We shall return again and again. Close to all our needs. They accept dogs and the dogs are welcome everywhere on the campground (on a leash and with a responsible owner). Ask for a creek lot - they're great. We camped at Moose River Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We had a wonderful 2 week stay the Owners, Staff and Seasonal Campers made us feel like family. The camp ground is very well maintained nice grass around all sites the WiFi was super fast, they had bonfires, music and potluck dinners on the weekends. The area is rich in history and culture we would recommend the Fairbanks Museum in St Johnsbury, Cabot Creamery the Dog Chapel, just to name a few. We promised the owners we would return and we absolutely will. We camped at Moose River Campground in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

Moose River Campground is perhaps the prettiest, most attractive campground I've visited on my year-long tour. Surrounded by the Vermont forests, the sites are large and roomy, separated by well-trimmed grassy lawns. Flower gardens are scattered throughout the park, and the Moose River bubbles alongside. I arrived the Friday of Memorial Day Weekend, and was treated to two nights of free concerts and bonfires, mainly modern country music with a good dose of rock. Marilynn would have loved it! The owners of 20 some years actively manage it and live on the grounds. They make sure it is a place to come back to, with friendly and helpful interaction with guests. With this attitude, you can be sure that the park is filled mostly with long-termers. Although children can find things to do, the park bills itself as a place for adults. The only negative aspect of my stay was something totally out of their control: cellular service in the area is utterly deplorable. This meant that my mobile hotspot was worthless. The campground does provide a cable-driven, password-protected wifi, but only for two devices. I connected my computer to it, and was able to get moderately satisfactory internet. But I chose to use the second connection on my tablet, which chose that week to quit working, and hence had no connection for my phone or its GPS. Ah well, I knew how to get into town, and when it came time to leave, I did have an atlas. We camped at Moose River Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a very quiet campground located right on the Moose River. If you like the sound of babbling water, ask for a site on the river. We stayed Memorial Day Weekend and enjoyed a pot luck dinner with free hamburgers and hot dogs, Bingo, a live band one night and a DJ the next night with a huge campfire for all to enjoy. Very friendly and accommodating owners. Great place for dog-lovers as Dog Mountain in nearby. We camped at Moose River Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

We stayed this past weekend, our second time and we'll go back again next year (for an annual event nearby). Being on the weekend made the rate $5 more than weekdays ($40). It's a small campground, maybe 50 sites. Half of the sites are right next to the river, which was really nice. Except for a few tent sites, all the sites have full hookups. They also have fixed trailers you can rent for the night, which is great if you want to stay with friends who are camping. The owners are wonderful folks, making sure everyone has a good time. They have a strict policy about dogs being on leash, which is good, since it helps make sure they're picked up after. The campground is very dog-friendly. The bathrooms are clean and spacious. Saturday night bonfire can be fun for folks to get together, though they didn't have it when we were there this time, due to the heavy rain. The place is well-kept and nicely decorated and landscaped. It's also outside of St Johnbury enough that you're not in the "city", but it's right off the highway, so easy access. We camped at Moose River Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This was a great place to stay for our first venture out in our new Travel Trailer. The owners were very welcoming and helpful, as were the other campers. Saturday night bonfire & DJ is the best! The ground were clean and well maintained, sites were excellent and hospitality #1. Will be returning! We camped at Moose River Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Small park with lots of seasonal campers but the lady who runs this place keeps her fingers on it all. Plenty of room for big rigs but reservations are probably important, the place filled up every night I was there in early September. The place is immaculate, both wifi and my satellite worked well, and St. Johnsbury is an interesting stop if you're into the history of the area. Would definitely stay here again. Loved the park. It was a small park and all the seasonal campers were friendly. Everything was well groomed, sites were a good size, and restrooms/showers were very nice. The bonfire was great, as was the sip and paint we joined in on. I would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it for a relaxing vacation. Not really a lot to do in the area, but there is a lot of enjoyment in just relaxing or taking part in their activities. We camped at Moose River Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Stayed for 12 days owners are very hospitable and make you feel at home. We will return again next year for a longer stay. All facilities are very clean and easy access. The camping is 15 miles to Kingdom Trails and less than 2 miles to the grocery store.

Water lots a good size for your average size trailers (30'). The center lots are for big rigs. Not suited for young kids. Great place for hikers, mountain bikers and just relaxing. We camped at Moose River Campground in a Travel Trailer.

I was so enthralled by this place. It looks like a manicured golf course. We had a site by the river which lulled us to sleep each night. The Campground was having a wine and cheese party the night we pulled in and it was wonderful to meet your neighbors and have some fun by the bonfire. It was so nice that I made a reservation for my brother and sister-in-law to have a getaway for a few days there. They thoroughly enjoyed it. We will return year after year (God willing)!
