Roads are a little tight, some sites a little tight getting into. We meet another couple here to go to Ben and Jerrys. A little for off the beaten path but a good stay. We camped at Little River State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Vermont has got to be one of the prettiest states. Little River State Park is a beautiful park near Waterbury, in the middle of the state, next to Waterbury Reservoir. The campground is dry camping. Sites are generally large enough for smaller rigs, and a few sites are big enough for big rigs. Our site (site 4) was interesting to get into, we had to back around a corner and avoid some trees. But once we were in the site, it was level, and there was plenty of room to stretch out. The campground is heavily forested, and most sites are pretty dark. We weren't able to get our satellite radio to work. I would assume satellite dishes would have the same problem. Sites are dirt. There was a major rainstorm while we were there, that caused flooding all over the northeast. During and shortly after the storm, our campsite was a lake. Within a few hours, though, the water had drained through the sandy soil, and the storm might as well have never happened. The roads were the same way. The road leading to the park is dirt (but suddenly becomes paved at the entrance to the park). After the storm, there was no evidence of any problem from the water. Our favorite part of the stay was kayaking on the lake. The campground rents kayaks for very reasonable prices. On a nice day, it's the perfect way to experience Vermont. There's also lots of hiking, and mountain biking. We camped at Little River State Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This campground is 3 miles in from the interstate and nestled up against a hillside beside a reservoir. The sites are nicely spaced out, level and many having great privacy. I drive a 38-foot Class A that is very tall at 13 feet and I didn't have any problem getting to the campground or into my site. They put me in a pull through that was way bigger than I needed and there are plenty of other sites I could have backed into.

There are no hookups but they do have a dump station and potable water.

But the best part is how beautiful it is up here. The lake has a swimming area. They even have a ramp to put in a boat if you have one. And I just got done hiking for 2 hours along an amazing trail that followed a beautiful creek. Vermont at its best.

The bathrooms are rudimentary but clean and it looks like they are building another new one. There's no wi-fi but I do get Verizon cell service.

Vermont also has a law that you can only run your generator for two hours in the morning and two hours in the late afternoon, other than that it needs to be off.

I'd easily come back here. We camped at Little River State Park in a Motorhome.

Beautiful large wooded sites, but took a little time to get into. Very quiet and peaceful. Nice restrooms especially the new ones. Could use more showers in the first bath house. Nice programs for kids. Would definitely camp here again. We camped at Little River State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Primitive state campground with excellent sites that are well cared for, and cleaned before arrival. There are new restrooms and showers being built, and programs for all age groups that were well received. Rangers would always be there to help you. The lake was clean and all types of boats permitted. We plan to stay here again. We camped at Little River State Park in a Motorhome.

The only thing that keeps this campground from getting a perfect 10 for a state park are a few tight spots along the interior roads. It is a beautiful heavily treed park. There are not very many big rig sites but enough if you don't mind a little challenge to get in. We camped at Little River State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

A true State Park gem as long as your RV is not too big. Access roads are narrow in places & there are only a few sites that can accommodate a 40' plus vehicle. Well worth the 2.5 mile access road drive. Located in dense forest, seeing your neighbour is very difficult from most sites. The staff is very helpful & maintain the park to the highest standards. We camped at Little River State Park in a Fifth Wheel.
