What a great campground, very spacious sites, good wifi, owner was absolutely wonderful, always checking to make sure everything was going fine and we didn't need anything. Perfect place to stay with dogs, big open field to let them run off leash and trails into the woods along a stream for them to swim. Only drawback is that only a limited number of sites have sewer. We camped at Barrewood Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Pricing reflects PA discount available Sunday through Thursday. We had planned to stay here 4 nights but ended up staying 8 partly because of the very helpful owner, strong free WiFi, fair pricing and (finally!) the appearance of some nice fall colors. The owner really makes an effort to keep the park looking nice, the restroom clean and everything working as it should. Newport Vermont, the closest good-size town, sits about 23 miles to the north on the shores of Lake Memphremagog-the majority of which lays in Quebec, Canada. Not all RV sites have sewer but Mark is hoping to remedy this in the near future. If you don't get a sewer site they will even loan you a blue tote. We opted for a site (#3) that didn't have sewer because it was huge and backed up to a nice creek, which our black lab enjoyed. Our AT&T phones worked well and there was no problem getting DirecTV. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this beautiful park. We camped at Barrewood Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

After searching weeks for fall foliage, we found the best color around Island Pond in the northeast corner of Vermont October 2nd. The drive south on Highway 102 along the Connecticut River was also picturesque.

Still an excellent campground for a relaxing stay. Mark is a wonderful host, full of suggestions for touring the area. Baths are small but well-maintained. Single washer and dryer. Only a few sites with sewer hookup. Grass sites with some shade. Antenna no problem. Good AT&T service. Lots to do in the area (Newport & Derby Line, Jay Peak). A little highway noise. We camped at Barrewood Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

We camped next to the stream, and it was beautiful and quiet. The host was a very friendly person who made us feel very welcomed. The bathroom and shower were very clean and nice. We were just surprised that the rates have gone up considerably, but it was worth it for a one night stay. We camped at Barrewood Campground in a Motorhome.

I can echo what the previous reviewers had stated. The sites are well maintained and spacious. The owner and staff are extremely friendly and helpful. We enjoyed visiting with the few seasonal RVers that spend the summer here. They even brought us some wood, and we shared a campfire a couple nights. They have just installed Wi-Fi and it worked very well. However, our Verizon cell phone would not work unless you walked to the top of the hill nearby. Had reservations for three nights at the Passport rate and wished that we could've stayed longer. We would definitely come back here again! We camped at Barrewood Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We thought we would stay for 2 nights and ended up for 6. The owner was as helpful as could be. He let me borrow a skill saw and his wife brought out home-grown tomatoes. The neighbors were friendly, too. We would definitely stay again. We camped at Barrewood Campground in a Motorhome.

Pretty country style campground that is well maintained. Transit sites seem easily accessible. Campground offers hiking, fishing and a short drive to Jay Peak. Seasonal sites seemed well maintained. Bathrooms kept very clean. Owners friendly and will go out of their way to make sure your stay is enjoyable. Nice office/pavilion and shuffle board. Campground has small pool and playground. Grocery stores are a short drive away. I thought the campground rates were a good value. We camped at Barrewood Campground in a Travel Trailer.
