We stayed at Limehurst Lake CG for a week while waiting for the fall leaf change. This is a wonderful, quiet, well cared for campground with mostly level sites that are nicely spaced. The sites are grass that is well manicured and the CG interior roads are gravel that is kept smooth and dust free. We had a full hookup, 50 amp site that allowed us to use our sat dish for TV. The CG sits right next to a private lake that is clean and fishable. The owners are extremely helpful and friendly, as were the other campers. We were concerned about some previous reviews, mentioning the extra $5 per day charge for using air conditioning, heaters, or washers, but since we are here in the fall we never needed our AC or heater. We did pay $5 for one day to wash clothes, but still felt the price was commensurate with what the CG provided. We will be back. In fact, we have already made reservations to return for two weeks. We camped at Limehurst Lake Campground in a Motorhome.

Loved this place. You can tell that the new owners have put a lot of love and care into it over the past 5 years or so. It takes a lot to fix things up when it's just you and your family putting the hard work in. For me, it was just the right size. You don't have to walk forever to get where you want to be, but you are not completely stacked one on top of the other either. There is a trailer park you have to drive through to get to it, but that is simply out of their control. My kids love playing on the beach and I loved the quiet. I would definitely come back!! Friendly owners with great service. We camped at Limehurst Lake Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed for 7 nights. If you pay for 6, you get the 7th free. We opted to pay $5 extra per night for a/c. Apparently electric is super expensive in Vermont! Tax is 6%. All in, we paid $321 for the week or $46/night including a/c and tax. We also gave $10 cash deposit for the gate card and returned it for our deposit prior to leaving. No problem. The trailer park prior to arriving at the entrance to the campground did not concern us nor did the small hill and turn immediately after the entry gate. This park is big rig friendly. Sites are spacious and grassy (but the ground is solid under the grass and did not get soggy with rain). All hookups worked perfectly. We had clear sky for DirecTV signal. Verizon cell was a bit moody. It seemed to work better when standing outside. Verizon data was OK. CG WiFi was better than most. There is single stream recycling. Owners are friendly and have a little campground store at the office. The lake is pretty. We felt this CG was in a good location to get to all of the sites we wanted to visit including Montpelier, Stowe, Camel's Hump, Cabot and Lamoille Valley Rail Trail. If we returned to the area, we would evaluate all options first but would definitely consider staying here again. We camped at Limehurst Lake Campground in a Motorhome.

There is a well-stocked Dollar General 2 miles away. Check out the awesome Lamoille Valley Rail Trail for cycling (and they're expanding it!). Don't let driving distances dissuade you from going to various attractions. Vermont doesn't have traffic (none that we encountered) and the scenery is spectacular. Cabot Creamery has a ton of free samples making the tour a good value. You must try a yummy maple creamee (soft serve ice cream).

Park is well manicured and has a lake with rental boats. Security gate. Campground requires an additional $5 if a/c, heat pump or heater is used. Verizon signal strong. Did not use available wifi. Water pressure was good, power stable, grass site level, convenient sewer connection. Picnic table and fire ring available. Laundry very clean. Multiple seasonal stayers. We camped at Limehurst Lake Campground in a Motorhome.

Stayed two nights to visit local attractions. Small pretty campground with sites over looking a lake. Sites are back-in, very spacious, open and attractive with grass and some trees. Interior roads are gravel and sites are grass. WiFi very good for email and internet. Security gate at front office then a very steep short hill to the sites. Cable available and open sites allow satellite access. No pool but beach swimming in lake. We camped at Limehurst Lake Campground in a Motorhome.

We found the check-in to be very easy. The road into the campground was beside a mobile home park which was not very attractive but once in the campground it was nice. We were in a 43 foot motorhome with a tow vehicle and found it easy to navigate to our site. The campground is beside a lake which allows catch and release fishing. There is also swimming allowed in the lake and there is also a small water park in the campground. It was a very quiet and relaxing campground. The owner/manager was very nice and helpful. Most of the sites are back-in sites with plenty of room for our tow vehicle. It is close to many interesting things to see and do and only 30 miles from Montpelier. We will definitely return when in the area. We camped at Limehurst Lake Campground in a Motorhome.

The views from this park are excellent. The hosts are friendly. Our site was level, and the hookups were well placed. They had cable, and we were able to get satellite signal with no problem. They had WiFi with good signal strength. Those are the good points. The bad points are you are in a valley surrounded by forests. Cell signal was nonexistent on our smartphone but if I stood outside I could use my little throw away phone. Same service so go figure. There is not much to do in the immediate area, nor are there many restaurants. If you stay here I strongly suggest getting the gate card. There is a $10 deposit, which is refundable when you turn it back in. We didn't take it because we tend to leave early before the office would open and understood there would be someone in the office to open the gate until 8:00pm. The few times we left we interrupted the hostess while she was talking to other guests to go into the office and push the button. The last time it was the host and we interrupted his yard work. He said "That is why we recommend guests get the gate pass." There is also a five dollar a day extra fee if you run your air conditioners, heat pump, or use your washer/dryer. This use is monitored according to their rules sheet. So don't try to use them without paying the fee. We camped at Limehurst Lake Campground in a Motorhome.

Was a small park. Dog's were allowed in the bathroom, when reported owner he said we are "dog friendly". Nice wide and deep sites, good Wi-Fi. Walking path around lake. On check-in owner said we were lucky someone left early and we were placed in the middle of a group of nice people in a A-Liner rally in site 22. The owner I guess had forgotten he had told us we were in site 38 at time we made our reservations. Site 38 was occupied when we checked in they must have offered him more money who knows we had a nice site just be aware. We camped at Limehurst Lake Campground in a Motorhome.

Don't let the trailer park you pass as you come up the entrance concern you. It is terrible but has no connection to the park. Park is run and owned by a young couple who say they are making improvements. Restroom/showers are older and small but work. .25 per 7 minutes. Used the laundry only because I needed to do two loads. The washer/dryers need a good cleaning and the cobwebs need to be cleaned out of the corners. Floor is unpainted concrete so made sure nothing hit the floor. Lots are grass and wide and didn't feel crowded over Labor Day weekend. The water slide that shows on the website doesn't look like it's been used in years. It's a quiet park even with Labor Day crowd. Close to Barre/Montpelier, Cabot Creamery, Quechee Gorge, Rock of Ages Granite quarry/factory. Enjoyed our stay and would stay again if in the area. We camped at Limehurst Lake Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We really enjoyed the Cabot Creamery tour. There is a covered wagon on the way to Cabot that is worth stopping to see. Also found the Rock of Ages tour very interesting. Tour guide was a retired teacher and did a great presentation. Had dinner at The Firehouse Bar & Grill in Barre. It was a very old firehouse with lots of interesting memorabilia If you are in need of RV supplies M's RV in Berlin, VT went our of their way to try to help us with a carbon detector problem.

As others have said, disregard the mobile home park on the way in. Entrance to this slightly rustic campground is gated and immediately after the gate is a down slope but our 40' had no problems. Roads are gravel/sand but not dusty at all. Sites are grass but ours took no time at all to get level. Sites are well spaced and we had great satellite reception. We are next to the Wi-Fi antenna so our connection has been great and owner also said upgrades to the system are in the works. Unbelievable how quiet the park is, but we are here after Labor Day so it is not crowded at all. Beautiful lake on the property that tent sites overlook, but the RV section where we are at does not; it looks through the fence toward the mobile home park but not an issue. Saw some reviews about the owner being rude but we have found him to be the exact opposite. Took us to our site, answered any questions and gabbed about the park and his plans for improvements...very friendly from our experience. Would definitely return. We camped at Limehurst Lake Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Hannaford grocery store about 10 minutes north. DO NOT TAKE EXIT 5 off of I-89 as your GPS will probably tell you...road grade is not good for RVs and trucks are told to avoid it. GO TO EXIT 6 and then east on HWY 63 to Hwy 14, south a few miles to campground on your right.

Great scenic park on a lake with ducks and forest. Our site was in the open, at our request, and satellite and cellphone friendly. We had full hookups, all of which worked well. This park is well maintained by the hard-working owner. It has gravel roads and crushed granite pads. The pad was close enough to level that we didn't put down jacks, though Rick was ready to help us do so. We were escorted to the site. A sign at the fork showed NO ENTRY and the other part was a downhill, so we stopped and looked things over. Rick came up to wave us in. We would definitely return. Can only echo what others have said, very spacious level sites, good hookups, good cable. Most peaceful campground we have seen in months of travel, no trains or traffic noise. Store is fairly well stocked and operates a small snack bar. Lake is picturesque and lots of kids seem to like playing in it, but the beach is away from the campsites just a bit so no noise from that. Definitely will be back when in the area. We camped at Limehurst Lake Campground in a Motorhome.

Williamstown is just outside of Barre, which is about 20 or so min. from Waterbury or Montpelier and about 40 min from Burlington - all places with tons to see and do! It's also the cheapest place to stay, and super nice! The sites were the most level we've run across in ages, nice space between, great cable, WiFi, cell service, peaceful, nice shade, well kept up...and the people, both the 'regulars' and the owners, couldn't have been nicer! We had car trouble, and "neighbors" gave us a ride, Rick, the owner, got a hold of a great mechanic that came right out and for us. Just super great people. Rick also was great at telling us about covered bridges, etc. We'd come back in a heart beat. We camped at Limehurst Lake Campground in a Motorhome.
