Some of the sites were small or the utility boxes were in the wrong location for some rigs. A bundle of wood was $4.00 and there was also a one time entrance fee of $5.00. The park was clean and safe. I only used the Campground A bathroom facilities and they were clean and well stocked with supplies. There is road work outside the park and some spots are taken by workers. The prices for supplies in the camp store were high and the nearest grocery/shopping area is 15 miles. The onsite restaurant is just OK. The mashed potatoes are instant and way too watery - the burgers were good. Since we were there during low season the stores, paddle boats and fishing boats were only available Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I gave this campground an 8 because they weren't very good at enforcing the rules. One camper's dog was allowed to run free and another had a generator that ran at night. When we asked a park ranger about enforcement, he stated that at this time of year, if there are no complaints, they tend to look the other way. We had a great time and will definitely return. This is a beautiful park but has its problems. Sent in and told to choose our site with no map: not a good idea. We went down the wrong loop and had quite a time getting out with our 38 ft fiver. Stayed on loop C which has beautifully full shaded, but not level sites. It also is the only site without a comfort station. So if you don't want to use your shower, it is a long walk to the loops with facilities, which are in need of repair and some consistent cleaning. No WiFi and cell service is marginal at best. Nearest gas station is 8 miles one way. Nearest Walmart or grocery store is 17 miles one way. Come prepared. But this park is gorgeous. The views are amazing. What a beautiful place! The park is very well sited to preserve the natural surroundings. We found several sites that would accommodate our toy hauler. However, large rig owners should be aware that many of the nominally 40' sites will not accommodate a rig nearly that large. Also large rigs should choose their access route carefully. Not all routes are pleasant. We had AT&T cell coverage in the campground. There is Wifi at the lodge. We camped at Breaks Interstate Park in a Fifth Wheel.Undo

You choose your site but be careful as interior roads on the B loop are very tight and some sites are difficult to get into. We found a nice pull-through site in Loop A but had to use the blocks to level out the rig. We chose not to use their showers because they were old and disgusting. We left after 4 days (had a 7 day stay planned) as the rain was horrible and the ground was already saturated. We would not stay here again. It is tough to get to and the hiking trails were in disrepair (I'm a trail maintenance guy from western NC), rocky, wet, and dangerous. We camped at Breaks Interstate Park in a Fifth Wheel.Undo

This CG is owned jointly by VA and KY and both states should be ashamed. The park doesn't take reservations although many were "rented" when we arrived and were not available even though no one was occupying them. On Memorial Day the staff seemed to cram as many campers into sites as possible. The single site across from us had three campers on it and this was true of many of the sites. There was a class A parked outside the restroom with an extension cord running into the bathroom the entire weekend. There were no locks on the doors in the womens toilet stalls. We were told that there was no full hook-up site available when we called but, when we arrived, the ranger had one that she was "holding back" but we could have it. The laundry room was locked and we had to drive to the visitor center to have someone open it even though it was two hours past opening hours. The staff were hard to find but friendly when you did find someone. The hiking within the park was excellent with well-marked trails. We camped at Breaks Interstate Park in a Travel Trailer.Undo
