The sites in this park are not equal. Some are short, some have the electric boxes on the wrong side, some have rock on the ground where there is no grass. Our site was long enough and the water & electric were in the right place, but we did not have grass and there was no rock. Since it was rainy while we were there, this was really not good. We couldn't let the dog be outside and when we walked her, we all tracked mud back into the camper. I recommend that you check out your site thoroughly before reserving. If you get the right site, this park could be great. Noise from the gun range was rather annoying. It was non-stop all day, every day. Because the area is heavily wooded, we were unable to get Dish TV, but our Verizon MiFi worked well, as did our AT&T phones. We camped at Bull Run Regional Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The "pull-thru" is really just a little loop so you end up literally being parallel to the road which is 3 feet from your trailer. We camped at Bull Run Regional Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is a heavily used community park. The road to get to the park is narrow and has an unusual tight 10-mph turn off of Bull Run Post Office Road. The sites are inconsistent as far as levelness and have unusual hook-up arrangements. At our site the electric hook-up was on the wrong side and in a very odd location relative to the actual parking area. Our site was listed as a pull-through, but it was really just a pull-off adjacent to the road with some leveling issues. We camped at Bull Run Regional Park in a Travel Trailer.

This campground has been a local "go-to" for us over the last few years of camping from our earlier days as tent campers through to the current travel trailer we now use. Do heed the cautions of other reviewers that not all sites are created equally, if you have specific requirements (i.e. power pole location, space for awnings)... ask the office. We have gone through the park and rated each spot for ourselves to determine which ones will accommodate our trailer. (Location of utilities, trees in the way, size of the spot, parking availability, etc.) It really comes in handy on future reservations as the online system doesn't really describe these limitations. We have experienced the staff here to be approachable, friendly, and extremely courteous. Check in after 1pm / Check out is 11am. Late checkout-$10 (if available) is 7pm. One can only request late checkout on morning of the last day after the staff verifies that the spot is not reserved online for that afternoon. (Note: This is a change in policy that used to allow for prepaying for late checkout at check-in time.) The trap/skeet range is active daily and is usually a bit louder on the "tent-only" side of the park. It is not unbearable, and only occurs during the daytime hours but worth mentioning if you are not used to hearing shotguns firing. This park has camping "hosts" that are staying right along with you. These hosts do a terrific job of clearing the sites that have been vacated in preparation for the next visitor. I've seen them rake back the leaves from the "living" area, thoroughly clean the BBQ grills, and ensure that no trace of trash is left behind for another guest to have to deal with. They are also really friendly to chat with and discover their "story". When we were using the shower/bathrooms in our tent days, we found them to be relatively clean. Two dump stations are available free for use if you are staying the night. We camped at Bull Run Regional Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

A quick 15-20min trip to Manassas takes care of any shopping needs that may arise. "Camping World" just took over the old Reines RV in Manassas and has a fully stocked parts/accessory store for those "special, RV" type needs.

Price was a little higher than we like to spend, but it was the best deal near DC. Beautiful setting, lots of trees. Yes, you can hear the gun range but all is quiet when it closes. The hookups were on the wrong side, but we were able to cross connect without any problems. Not all sites are like that. No cable or Internet. Close to Metro station for our trips downtown. Every store you could need is located in Manassas only a few miles away. We camped at Bull Run Regional Park in a Motorhome.

We parked in one of the parking lots and unhooked to find the office and check in; parking at office is tight. The right hand turn into the park comes very quick after the 10 MPH turn off of Post Office road, DON'T miss it. Heck to turn around! The water park was a blast! Drive to the Vienna/Fairfax Metro terminal and take the train downtown, we went 4 days and that is not enough! God Bless the USA

This is a very large, pretty park, but the campground seems "old". It is difficult to find a level site....just about every site necessitates using wood for leveling. If there is heavy electric use (everyone using their a/cs, for instance ), the voltage really drops. Several times, our surge protector shut power off to our coach due to low voltage. There are lots of trees, which makes satellite reception difficult. It is also expensive, due to its proximity to Washington DC. We camped at Bull Run Regional Park in a Motorhome.

This county park in Northern Virginia right off of Route 66 is a great place to stay near Washington DC. It's a good size with many spots, picnic tables, and few short hiking trails. Everyone was friendly and the park is in good shape. The men's bathroom was clean but the women's bathroom had some drainage problems (a giant puddle). As others have said, there is a shooting range nearby that you can hear in the distance. It's not too bad, and we actually went to it. For $35, we took a class on how to use a shotgun and got to fire about 20 rounds at clay skeets. There were no programs in early May, but they do have special weekend events all summer long. The pool looks great for kids, but it doesn't open until Memorial Day weekend. We camped at Bull Run Regional Park in a Cabin.

This regional park is an oasis in the middle of a massive suburban residential and commercial area. The park has lots of amenities, including a water park. The campground is very well maintained and quiet. The utilities on our site were placed awkwardly with hookups on the wrong side. We had to walk to the opposite side of our door to get to the picnic table and grass area AND walk over our electric and sewer hoses. Some sites are configured correctly for utilities. We had a problem with the water connection and the staff quickly resolved the problem. As many reviewers have stated, there aren't many parks near the Manassas/DC area. We will stay here again. We camped at Bull Run Regional Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a large community park just off I-66 about ½ hour west of Washington, DC. The park has huge open areas, picnic pavilions and a water park. The campground is wooded with nice sized site pads. The driveways are asphalt in good condition and the site pads are gravel. We had a large "pull along" site with 50 amp electric plus water. A dump station is available. The bathrooms are nice and super clean. We paid $44.76 per night. We camped at Bull Run Regional Park in a Motorhome.

We just love this park! This is our second stay and we reserved the first two weeks of April 2017 hoping to see the Blue Bells. The park is convenient to the highway and to public transit into Washington DC.

Park roads are good to excellent with just a few potholes.

Full hookup sites are all on one road. NOTE: The hookups for some sites are on the wrong side or at the rear of the site. Suggest you call ahead and discuss if this is important to you.

The park is perfect for those who enjoy nature. Woods, flowers, trails, trees, wildlife. What's not to love!? Sites are spacious and the park is enjoyed by those in RVs of all sizes as well as tents.

We saw deer several times in the park and on the trails. We were also ther as Paw Paws ripened and were able to enjoy them as a snack during our hike.

Please beware of Rocky Raccoon. This masked bandit removed our suet feeder and hanger from a tree and hauled it off to his own home. Rocky returned two days later hoping for an encore but, on encountering humans, fled up a tree. We camped at Bull Run Regional Park in a Fifth Wheel.

A very nice campground except for ease of entry and exit. The sites are all parallel to the road however the site we were able to reserve was too tight for our fifth wheel and caused us to have to back in with difficulty. Having said that, once we were in the site it was a pleasant stay for 6 days. This is pretty much a city park and there is much activity for families but getting into and out of the park is a 3 mile, slow drive to highway. We stayed here in order to see DC every day. The train was 13 away at the Vienna station but the traffic wasn't bad at the times we went. Management of the park is exceptional and all utilities worked well but would probably not stay again due to the drive in and out. The next closest parkis Prince Williams but you have to drive almost to I495 before you get to the train station. We found traffic was horrendous the closer you get to downtown. We camped at Bull Run Regional Park in a Fifth Wheel.

It is hard to believe that this park is so close to Fairfax and DC - lots of open space and very quiet, considering I-66 is so close. We really like the way you pull into your site along the camp road and the hook ups are close to the road. Our site was very spacious, level, and we felt as if there was more room because there was not another campsite in front of us. Dump station was very convenient and spacious. The only negative during our stay was the noise from the shooting range, which is located in the park, mostly during mid-morning time frame; however, it was not that bad. We would definitely consider camping here again. We camped at Bull Run Regional Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is a hidden gem. We would never have expected to find a place like this in the DC metro area. It is a public/regional park that includes a huge day-use area, a water park, a shooting range, an events center, and a campground. Roads are paved, sites are gravel. A mix of back in and pull-through sites. The pull-throughs are loop sites. Sites have picnic tables, fire ring (wood available at campground store) and all utilities except cable. Utilities were modern and worked well. Some are in funny places related to the rest of the site. All sites back into or face into wooded area with squirrels, foxes, and deer. The shooting range is nearby and active during the day, but is done by nightfall. You are under the approaches for Dulles Airport, but airplane noise was minimal. No cable, satellite is unlikely due to trees, but there are a ton of over the air channels available in the DC area. Staff were friendly. Park was quiet and clean. We will definitely return here on our next visit to the DC area. We camped at Bull Run Regional Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Great Park as a homebase to view the battlefield and the DC area. Beware, traffic into DC is CrAzY. Each spot has shade or partial shade AND there is ample pull through parking. I liked everything about this park EXCEPT there is a public gun range a few miles away so you will get the occasional bang, bang, bang. You will be satisfied with your experience at this park. I so want to rate this park higher. It has so much potential-a beautiful large, private regional park with full hookups, in the center of a very metropolitan area with so much to see and do-the Manassas Battlefield National Park is just 5 minutes away! The park itself is at the end of the day a picnic area which is huge and very nice, but the campground is very private and quiet. There is a nice water park that is open from Memorial Day through Labor Day as well. The park also has a nice shooting center - some noise from that but not too annoying. However, whoever designed the hookups for the sites had obviously never even seen an RV! Some were where they should be, while others were on the wrong side, some way back in the corner of the large campsites, just very random and odd. Ours happened to be on the back side so our door and canopy opened up to the street. Otherwise, our site was awesome, large and private with a nice large yard and picnic area in back, we just had to ignore the hoses and hookups. Beautiful paved roads, great for biking and walking. Lots of nature trails, too. It was very expensive but there is really not much else in this area. We camped at Bull Run Regional Park in a Motorhome.

So much history, even in the park! Be sure to check out Bull Run NMP and there's a lovely winery right next to the Battlefield, just a few minutes from the campground as well! (The Winery at Bull Run). Then drive into D.C. or take the metro and enjoy the free Smithsonians!
