The sites in this park are not equal. Some are short, some have the electric boxes on the wrong side, some have rock on the ground where there is no grass. Our site was long enough and the water & electric were in the right place, but we did not have grass and there was no rock. Since it was rainy while we were there, this was really not good. We couldn't let the dog be outside and when we walked her, we all tracked mud back into the camper. I recommend that you check out your site thoroughly before reserving. If you get the right site, this park could be great. Noise from the gun range was rather annoying. It was non-stop all day, every day. Because the area is heavily wooded, we were unable to get Dish TV, but our Verizon MiFi worked well, as did our AT&T phones. We camped at Bull Run Regional Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This regional park is an oasis in the middle of a massive suburban residential and commercial area. The park has lots of amenities, including a water park. The campground is very well maintained and quiet. The utilities on our site were placed awkwardly with hookups on the wrong side. We had to walk to the opposite side of our door to get to the picnic table and grass area AND walk over our electric and sewer hoses. Some sites are configured correctly for utilities. We had a problem with the water connection and the staff quickly resolved the problem. As many reviewers have stated, there aren't many parks near the Manassas/DC area. We will stay here again. We camped at Bull Run Regional Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We just love this park! This is our second stay and we reserved the first two weeks of April 2017 hoping to see the Blue Bells. The park is convenient to the highway and to public transit into Washington DC.

Park roads are good to excellent with just a few potholes.

Full hookup sites are all on one road. NOTE: The hookups for some sites are on the wrong side or at the rear of the site. Suggest you call ahead and discuss if this is important to you.

The park is perfect for those who enjoy nature. Woods, flowers, trails, trees, wildlife. What's not to love!? Sites are spacious and the park is enjoyed by those in RVs of all sizes as well as tents.

We saw deer several times in the park and on the trails. We were also ther as Paw Paws ripened and were able to enjoy them as a snack during our hike.

Please beware of Rocky Raccoon. This masked bandit removed our suet feeder and hanger from a tree and hauled it off to his own home. Rocky returned two days later hoping for an encore but, on encountering humans, fled up a tree. We camped at Bull Run Regional Park in a Fifth Wheel.

A very nice campground except for ease of entry and exit. The sites are all parallel to the road however the site we were able to reserve was too tight for our fifth wheel and caused us to have to back in with difficulty. Having said that, once we were in the site it was a pleasant stay for 6 days. This is pretty much a city park and there is much activity for families but getting into and out of the park is a 3 mile, slow drive to highway. We stayed here in order to see DC every day. The train was 13 away at the Vienna station but the traffic wasn't bad at the times we went. Management of the park is exceptional and all utilities worked well but would probably not stay again due to the drive in and out. The next closest parkis Prince Williams but you have to drive almost to I495 before you get to the train station. We found traffic was horrendous the closer you get to downtown. We camped at Bull Run Regional Park in a Fifth Wheel.

It is hard to believe that this park is so close to Fairfax and DC - lots of open space and very quiet, considering I-66 is so close. We really like the way you pull into your site along the camp road and the hook ups are close to the road. Our site was very spacious, level, and we felt as if there was more room because there was not another campsite in front of us. Dump station was very convenient and spacious. The only negative during our stay was the noise from the shooting range, which is located in the park, mostly during mid-morning time frame; however, it was not that bad. We would definitely consider camping here again. We camped at Bull Run Regional Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is a hidden gem. We would never have expected to find a place like this in the DC metro area. It is a public/regional park that includes a huge day-use area, a water park, a shooting range, an events center, and a campground. Roads are paved, sites are gravel. A mix of back in and pull-through sites. The pull-throughs are loop sites. Sites have picnic tables, fire ring (wood available at campground store) and all utilities except cable. Utilities were modern and worked well. Some are in funny places related to the rest of the site. All sites back into or face into wooded area with squirrels, foxes, and deer. The shooting range is nearby and active during the day, but is done by nightfall. You are under the approaches for Dulles Airport, but airplane noise was minimal. No cable, satellite is unlikely due to trees, but there are a ton of over the air channels available in the DC area. Staff were friendly. Park was quiet and clean. We will definitely return here on our next visit to the DC area. We camped at Bull Run Regional Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Especially coming from the south, GPS will try to bring you in on Rt 28 and Compton Road. DO NOT GO THAT WAY. Look at a map and figure out how to make your entry on Bull Run Post Office Road off of US 29.

Great Park as a homebase to view the battlefield and the DC area. Beware, traffic into DC is CrAzY. Each spot has shade or partial shade AND there is ample pull through parking. I liked everything about this park EXCEPT there is a public gun range a few miles away so you will get the occasional bang, bang, bang. You will be satisfied with your experience at this park. We camped at Bull Run Regional Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a State Park which is indifferent to service, and overcharges at $43 with no cable, and no WiFi.

Rang four times to ensure we were good for a booking for a 53' rig and spoke with two people. Arrived, and was told that max length was 38' and all the larger sites are closed for holiday season light show.

Staff were completely indifferent to any form of service and did not care. Could not use dump site either.

Any commercial facility would not tolerate such poor staffing or indifference to service.

Won't bother visiting next time even when it's open.

Booked a nearby park with Cable, WiFi, full hookup long pull through which cost less. We camped at Bull Run Regional Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Bare bones minimum state park, but it did have sewer hookups, which made it better than average for a state park. The staff in the office were typical government workers. They did their job but were not especially friendly or helpful. But for the Washington DC area, the price was very reasonable. This was our second time at this park. The last time we were chased out by the possibility of Hurricane Sandy hitting the DC area. Closest rail station is the end of the line at Vienna Station, about 17 miles away. Parking there is $5/day and if over 65, be sure to get a senior pass to get 1/2 price transit fares. We camped at Bull Run Regional Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Pretty spot in the woods but close by to everything. Fairly large level sites, some with hookups on the wrong side. Rate was for FHU. No WIFI but good Verizon and AT&T signals. Noise from gun range ends at dusk. Lots of places to walk the dog. Very convenient to visit the battlefield or Air and Space Museum at Dulles. We camped at Bull Run Regional Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a convenient location for visiting Manassas Battlefield. It works for getting into DC as well (about 1 to 1.5 hours). We didn't use the restrooms. The sewer connection at our site was too high, but they are not all that way. Our site also wasn't level and pooled water with heavy rain. There are great fields around for soccer, frisbee, or similar activities. We camped at Bull Run Regional Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Campground is in beautiful wooded area but has lots of problems. Utilities are very poorly laid out and are unusable at many sites (water and sewer at one end, electric at the other, or all three together at the far end of a long pull through). Sewer hookups are so high we couldn't empty our tanks and had to go to the main dump station. Many sites are very hard to get into or get level. If possible it's best to tour the campground to see what sites you might be able to use before reserving one. Noise from I-66 and the nearby shooting range is bad. Shooting goes on all day every day. Be forewarned that park policy now bans having your mail or packages sent to the park so make other arrangements if you need to get your mail. Campgrounds that accommodate big rigs are hard to find around DC so we will stay here again only if we need to work in the area. We camped at Bull Run Regional Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Bathrooms were very nice and clean. The gravel campsites were large and some were very unlevel. You have the feeling you are out in the middle of nowhere. The hook-ups (water, electric and sewer) were not altogether on the same side of the site. Our water and sewer were together on the left (where they should be), but the electric was about 15 feet to the right of our camper. No cable TV and the antenna got ABC, CBS & FOX – not NBC. No Wi-Fi. It was a 3-mile drive from the campsite to the main road. There is a nearby shooting range (well within hearing distance) that started promptly at 9:00 AM each morning. It was a little pricey considering the facilities, but we enjoyed it and would go back. There is a 14-day limit on consecutive nights camping. We camped at Bull Run Regional Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We came here for our daughter's graduation at George Mason University. It had been very rainy the week before and the mosquitoes were terrible. Most sites were level but our site had a very steep slope and we did not have enough sewer hose (50') to reach the sewer connection which was all the way at the back of the site. This particular trip and this particular site was not quite my cup of tea but we will probably stay here again when visiting. We camped at Bull Run Regional Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice park, but the bugs were unbelieveable. Many of the sites were obviously not laid out by anyone who ever was in an RV, the water/electric/sewer were in opposite ends of the site. They are fixing them as they can. We were here for a wine festival on the premises, and enjoyed our stay, but were indoors. We'd go back, but choose your site carefully.
