We stayed here for five nights on our way north. Early in the season, only four other campers out of 70 sites, and of course we're all next to each other. Very spacious sites, though. Heavily wooded area, hiking and equestrian trails right from the campground. Workers were busy trimming trees and putting down fresh mulch, getting ready for a busy season. Verizon cell and mifi and T-Mobile worked fine for us. Interior roads are gravel and plenty wide for navigating through, no branches to worry about. The first site we were booked in was half flooded from recent heavy rains, so we picked one across the street that was dry. The sites are packed gravel and most looked pretty level. You do hear road noise during the day but it dies down at night. If you're not familiar with this area, there's a naval air station here and you do hear planes flying over, sometimes late into the evening. If that bothers you, don't stay in this area. It's the sound of freedom, people. Workers at the campground were friendly with a wave, and as we stopped at the dump station on the way out one wished us safe travels on our journey! We camped at Northwest River Park Campground in a Motorhome.

This is my family's favorite campground in the area. It is quiet, lots of trees, not crowded, and has a very friendly staff. My kids love the putt putt golf course and two large playgrounds. My wife and I like the fire pits, hiking trails, and spacious area. There is also a nice lake stocked with fish. One can also rent canoes or paddle boats. No water hook up to RV, but there are water spigots near every lot for fresh water. Only reason I don't give a 10, is the bathhouse isn't the most clean or modern, but hey, you're camping! Great, fun campground overall! We camped at Northwest River Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

If you're looking for trees and woodsy, this is the place to go. It is reasonably priced and quiet. It is far away from the main towns. We camped at Northwest River Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This park is a great deal. The rates are low, the staff and campers were friendly. Let me just say that I don't normally have a problem reading maps or following directions but for some reason I had a hard time finding this place. I kept calling and getting lost but they walked me through it turn by turn over the phone. Very helpful. The sites are shady which was great with temps in the high 80's but it was open, high tree canopies so it wasn't real private but felt safe. There was also a ranger parked there 24 hours which is great security. There are no trains or airplane noises here thank God! and it's convenient access to the cities although it's a bit off the beaten path, it's a campground so that's to be expected. Note to self, I was in site 45 which was close to the bathrooms. Bugs were not a problem and would have liked to rent a boat but was not able to stay long enough. Would definitely return if going to the area again. I bring my own restroom so can't comment on the facilities. We camped at Northwest River Park Campground in a Truck Camper.

Beautiful park with lots of trails, a lake/river with canoe rentals, fishing. Had a great time while camped there and the park rangers were very helpful and knew a lot about the park. We camped at Northwest River Park Campground in a Tent.
