7 RV Parks near Coeburn, Virginia
Sep 2010 - $15.00
This park is one of the most beautiful wooded parks I have ever been in, but getting here is pretty rough. The road is very curvy and mountainous with 3 hairpin turns. (We take a 35' TT up here). The upper campground has paved road with open sites (5 only) and a bath house with showers. The views here are amazing. The lower campground with 10 very spacious sites is completely wooded, therefore the views are not as good. Sites are not long, therefore there are only a few that large rigs can fit into. Electric only on the sites, but water is available for fill-up near the dump station in the lower campground. - MerryKalia

This is a wonderful family owned campground. Our site was small and close to our neighbor. We had the creek running behind us so that was nice. Had cable with 25 channels and wifi that was slow sometimes. There was a great path on the other side of the creek that was close to 5 miles that ran for the most part by the creek. There was a pavilion with picnic tables and rocking chairs and other seats. The bathrooms were first rate always clean and about the best we have experienced in all our years of camping. - alnal90

We were traveling over Labor Day needing a place to stay for 2 nights on our way to NC. Called the campground and talked to the owner. He had one site left, asked if he needed a credit card he said "Not at all. When can I expect you?" Great service!
Upon arrival we sat at the pavilion and he and other RV'ers gave us some great suggestions for side trips. - Tom and Patty

Use the entrance closest to town. Interior roads and site drives are gravel. Big rig maneuverability is good. There are strips of grass between you and your neighbor. Power is strong and water pressure is good. Sewer port on the pull-through sites were set back from the pedestal, so you may need a longer hose. Verizon had 2 bars. Satellite TV was no problem at the center sites. Against the hill and on the lower level will probably be hard to get. Owner is very friendly and easy going. - eaglessoc

We stay here every summer, a couple weekends each month. We always love our stay here. There is plenty of activities close by. There is a playground for kids, clean showers, nice camp sites. The new owners of the marina have done great things. They have added a water park that most kids love. You can rent pontoons, kayaks at the marina also. Lake is kinda filled with drift wood, but most lakes are that didn't bother us. They could do a little better cleaning the boat loading ramp. Other then that, we will continue to stay at this campground for years to come. - Melissajase3714

Another great Virginia State Park, lots of things to see and do, but school has started and pool is only open on weekends, most of the programs are also on the weekends. Trails and the chairlift are open everyday. Nice touch was a paper that listed business nearby with direction and phone numbers. - ragsland
Jun 2018 - $45.00
Beautiful park with large COE-ish sites and plenty of space between sites. Water & electric but no sewer at the site. Ours had trees and brush between sites on the side but the back butted to another site which was vacant. Lovers Leap loop is where we stayed #17. Great cell and hot spot (ATT) reception. Very clean, new shower house. Lovers Leap is the newer loop and the reservable site specific one. The Tunnel is worth seeing. Would definitely return if in the area. - garmp

I will say I may have rose colored glasses as we stayed here after a week of primitive camping at Shenandoah. The campground is immaculate. Sites on the outer perimeter were widely spaced. Ours had brush/trees between it and the next site. Very quiet. The camp host wasn't around much but the rangers in the info station were very helpful. We went to the 'center' which was a beautiful log home-looking building and were able to use their FAST wi-fi. They also had wi-fi at the campground registration hut which I didn't realize until we were leaving. The tunnel was cool to see and the trails were nice, albeit short. There isn't much in the surrounding area but we would 100% stay here again if traveling through the area. - Harks_723
