Not many level sites. The pool is the big attraction. It is fed by a spring right under the pool. Nice owners. Not very good cell service as it is in a very low spot, so no data cards work. We camped at Swift Run Campground in a Motorhome.
Owners very pleasant and busy with "community pool" and snack bar which they run in addition to campground and its pool. Campground is old, basic, and may not be too well maintained. We had been there only about a half hour, turned on a/c and blew a fuse in our RV. It had not been a problem elsewhere. With no one there to fix it, and a need to be able to run a/c, we left. The owner did refund half of our fee. We likely would not stay there again. We camped at Swift Run Campground in a Motorhome.
PRO: This park is close to entrance of Shenandoah Nat'l Pk. CONS: This park needs some cleanup and update immediately. It appears that the owners are more concerned about the operation of the commercial swimming pool on the property than the RV park. Trees need trimming to allow clearance for RVs. Sites need cleaning and general maintenance. Several long timers who have messy sites. Entrance asphalt has pot holes. Water supply contains grit. We camped at Swift Run Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
Date of Stay: October, 2006 - $38.00
Excellent location 3 miles from middle of Skyline Drive. Shady, gravel topped pitches, but on-site facilities past their best. Overpriced for standard of what is on offer (Water, electricity, extra persons above two, all charged extra on base price - there were 4 of us) We camped at Swift Run Campground in a Travel Trailer.
