The juice is worth the squeeze here; amazing views, excellent staff, quiet. On the other hand - its no small task to get there. we came in on the 58 which was fine, GPS took us 860 which is an old moonshiners run (Shooters Creek). Super short, steep hills that are unforgiving on your tow vehicles transmission. I'm well under my GVWR BTW fully loaded and we had to stop twice to let her cool down. Take the 8 into Floyd and save yourself the hassle. A positive note is the locals are super friendly and one couple even stopped and guided us through the run with their hazards on the last stretch. Even offered us a bed for the night if things took a turn for the worse. We made it up the mountain and took their info so we could keep in touch. Great experience! Would definitely go again, coming in on the 8. We camped at Chantilly Farm in a Travel Trailer.

Located on a beautiful piece of property in Virginia farm country. Very close to quaint little town of Floyd. Great food, music and shopping. Good sized campsites, several pull throughs. A little close together but that's typical of private cg's. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Large pavilion for concerts and events. Large open fields and beautiful scenery. There was a fenced in dog area but it was very small. We have a large dog and no one seemed to mind that we allowed him to run free for exercise in the large fields being respectful of other campers. The trails they had on property were a little sketchy though. Overall, a very nice place. We were there only two nights but I would definitely stay there again. Hopefully for longer next time. Great area. We camped at Chantilly Farm in a Motorhome.

This is a beautiful campground in rolling hills. The roads into the campground are two lanes with no shoulders. We held up traffic because of the tight turns. I figured everyone else had to travel the same way. All the sites are in open sun so satellite reception was good. T-mobile service was nonexistent but wifi was very good. Wifi repeaters were throughout the campground. The sites were all level. this is our second stay. The office is open most times noq since they have added a full time manager. We camped at Chantilly Farm in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Floyd is a small town with one stop light but has some very nice local stores. Food Lion is a good grocery store. Laundromat is open 24/7 with good machines. Blue Ridge Parkway is two miles away; visited Mabry Mill with an excellent restaurant. The mill has been restored and is in operation. Worth a visit.

We have stayed here before and will again. It's in the country so the roads are narrow getting here. We do okay in a 45 foot MH, we just take it slow. The property itself is stunning nestled in the Blue Ridge mountains. The Blue Ridge parkway is also close by. It's quiet and peaceful, well, except when they are mowing which is pretty often! Lots of grass to tend to. Be prepared for bugs too - they bite and bite hard. We stayed in site 3 just behind the office. There are 5 sites in this section. They are really long but awkward to get in and out of. There is some "four wheeling" involved but apparently that is ok. Really, you just have to cross over some grassy areas. In these sites, it is very possible that you'll need extra hose to reach the sewer connection. They seem to have more and more long term campers although the sites are fairly neat. The WII FI is weak so we used our hotspots. Verizon coverage is 4g 2/3 bars and Directv works great. They have a new young camp host who is very personable and helpful. The rates are reasonable; however, the lodging tax (10.5%) and reservation fee ($18) are crazy high. Also, you can't make a reservation online even though it appears that you can. We camped at Chantilly Farm in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Chantilly Farm is a huge outdoor concert venue with a small campground attached. We stayed here for the night as we pulled off the (very nearby) Blue Ridge Parkway. Our campsite was next to a wifi access point, so the wifi was very, very fast. The campsite was level and the utilities were convenient and worked well. There was no one camped near us, had there been it would have felt crowded. There is no shade. Another post mentioned the views, they are quite lovely. We arrived after office hours, and initially could not find our site (we overlooked an obvious directional sign). The campground has two sections, and we were looking in the wrong section. As we wandered around, the camp host found us and got us to the right spot. We camped at Chantilly Farm in a Motorhome.

Very peaceful and beautiful setting nestled near the Blue Ridge Mountains. There are some long term renters, and it would be nice if they were more spruced up. There are full hookups and WII FI. The WII FI was up and down which is disappointing as the last time we were here it was screaming fast. There is no privacy and little space between sites. The park is very near the Blue Ridge Parkway. They have many events here and one year we'd love to be here for the Bluegrass event. We camped at Chantilly Farm in a Motorhome.

A good, quiet campground just minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway. I arrived after hours but they had information for me at the camp office. The campground is spread out into different sections and a mixture of open sites and treed depending on the section. I did not meet any staff, but the camp host came by as I was setting up and welcomed me. Site was graveled and level, all hookups worked well. I found a strong WiFi signal but was unable to connect to it at all. The bath house was a nice facility, clean and well kept. Firewood was available at the camp office on an honor system. Great place. Stayed three nights. Escorted to our site (#14). The scenic view from our campsite was perfect. Lots of room for trailer and truck. Clean; level site; good water pressure; good WiFi; nice restrooms and showers. These folks take pride in this campground. Continues to add and improve amenities. Has many events during the year. About 5 miles outside the city of Floyd, VA. We camped at Chantilly Farm in a Fifth Wheel.

My wife and I visited last weekend and had a great experience! I met the owner - nice guy who takes a lot of pride in his place. Everything was very clean and well organized. He escorted us to our lot and assisted in parking my trailer. Full hookups - be sure to bring the extra sewer hose, it's a long run. Water and electricity are very short runs. Wi-Fi was good - not the fastest but not bad. The owner is a retired electrical engineer so he knows how to make it work! There's no pool, dog park, playground or activities director - just a clean, picturesque park. The sites are VERY long and spacious. All have picnic tables and you can borrow a metal fire pit at the store. Firewood, ice and snacks are available too - just put your money in the box. The owner agrees campers are very trustworthy folks. The cool breezes were most appreciated during the hot late July weather! Nearby is the charming town of Floyd, the Blue Ridge Parkway, Mabry Mill, Meadows of Dan, Virginia Tech, and Roanoke is about 45 minutes away. Nice place - will visit again! We camped at Chantilly Farm in a Travel Trailer.

Spent two weeks here in a Class-A motorhome with a tow car. The sites are wide and long enough for both with room to spare. Sites are well maintained with grass between. The park is off the beaten path (I-81), but well worth the drive on VA SR8 and a county road (approx. 25 miles). Maybe a little far for an overnight. Only a few miles (4-5) to the Blue Ridge Parkway which is visible from the park. The park sometimes hosts car shows and other festivals in another part of the park consisting of nearly 200 acres, many are wooded. Most of the sites are pull-thru gravel with gravel approach roads and some back-ins. No problem with satellite reception, no cable, full hookup. Spoke with the owner several times who was actively involved. The staff was very friendly and the park was very quiet. We would go stay again. We camped at Chantilly Farm in a Motorhome.

What a perfectly delightful surprise! We stayed at Chantilly Farms to visit family in Roanoke. It's a long drive but there are no RV parks in Roanoke itself except for a rather unsettling mobile home park. What is up with that? In any case, this RV park was great. It's out in the country, in the mountains, quiet, and it is beautiful. Our site was long and pretty level. Utilities worked fine. The WII FI was outstanding - thank you thank you thank you!!!! There are lots of events held here - one a Bluegrass festival that we would have loved to attend. The property is the most scenic we have seen in a very long time. The drive is on some windy country roads but definitely doable even with our 45 foot motorhome. The only odd thing is making a reservation. I couldn't get the online system to work so I called. The answering service is for several different businesses so you have to pick the one for the RV park. I left a message and received a call back in a reasonable amount of time. We would definitely stay here again. We stayed here in a motorhome. We camped at Chantilly Farm in a Motorhome.

It's hard to rate this one. It's 5 miles outside of Floyd, VA which is 20 miles off of the interstate in rural Southwest Virginia. Pretty much off the beaten path. The sites are gravel, have full-hookups and are level. Rolling green countryside all around. There are new bathhouses that are clean and serviceable but in a rustic unprofessional kind of way (painted chipboard walls etc.). There is plenty of WiFi access points but we found it very fluky and relied on Verizon aircards - there is NO AT&T service in the park. There are no staff members on duty. You arrive to a closed office with a handwritten note about where to park and a phone to call someone if you have a problem. It's not a bad RV Park, it's just not really a "park." It's a farm out in the country that has been partially developed into a reasonable place to park your RV with pull-thrus and full-hookups. It's not great - but it's not bad. I'm sure it's the best in this area. But then in this absolutely rural area there really aren't many RV campgrounds or need for one. We camped at Chantilly Farm in a Motorhome.

This campground opened this spring and I have stayed twice and loved both times. I stayed in the spots near the office which gives you a view of the beautiful facility and the turkeys and deer that feed there. It is simply so peaceful with plenty of walking areas and incredible views. It is an "event zone" at times so there may be weekends where activities like a music event or county fair is going on but for the most part, it is quiet and peaceful. Though the office is not "manned" a lot of the time, it is easy to get in touch with someone and to sign yourself in. Definitely a place I will return to! What a great place, we called ahead and reserved this place for a few days for the Floyd fest and stayed for a few weeks. Every site is level, and they all have a view of rolling hills and green fields. Quiet, and private, and just a few short miles to town. Full facilities and it's all new! Management is friendly and helpful, and the owner has even stopped by a few times to make sure all is OK, and just to be friendly. The town of Floyd has turned out to be a charming Virginia town with good restaurants and local music. Can't beat this place for the summer. We camped at Chantilly Farm in a Travel Trailer.
