We found this park on Allstays and thought we would give it a try even though we could not find reviews. It is well off the beaten path but only about 20 minutes from Smithfield, VA where we were headed to see family. The park is quiet and very clean with plenty of room between the sites. Most of the residents are here long term, but their sites are well kept. There is a playground for the kids and a fishing lake for those interested. They even allowed our puppy to run free near the lake provided we cleaned up after her. - Wndopdlr1

We have stayed at Davis lakes many times and really enjoyed it. The people are friendly. It's a quiet enough campground. It's not the Ritz-Carlton, it's a campground and we enjoy our stays. So if you are looking for a happy relaxed stay pick Davis Lakes. - Gramma-gramma

Weekly discount for a level, back-in, FHU, 50amp, gravel site with a wood deck patio. We had weak Verizon cell/internet reception that was improved with a booster. We had good DishTV satellite reception, but other sites might not because of trees. Our family stayed in two of the rental cottages and they enjoyed the lake swim area and fishing from the covered patio decks at the cottages. We would stay here again. - Dave51

This was the third time we stayed there. First time in January. Had site F3. We have a 40' motor home and a trailer that carries our Harley and the front wheels of our Explorer. We had radiator issues with the motor home and had to take it to Virginia Beach for a replacement. They allowed us to keep our trailer and motorcycle parked at the Campground at no charge for the two weeks we didn't have the coach. Luckily we were able to stay with our daughter nearby. Second time we were there was April and we had the same site. Nice and big with plenty of room for everything. Nice fire ring, picnic table and wooden deck. Office staff is very nice, knowledgeable and friendly. Third time was in June. Had site F23. Again they were very accommodating our size motor home and our trailer, etc. Site was nice and big also. Plenty of people in and out for the 6 days we were there this time. Will be staying there every time we visit our daughter. It's a big, beautiful place with several lakes for fishing, swimming and fun. Lots of seasonal campers in other loops around the other lakes. - Martimcc

Level private site. Small narrow entrance to site over a culvert. This might be a problem for a larger motorhome. Most sites not for big rigs. - MsLucy

The campground is several miles by road from the excellent nature-visitors center where you can rent canoes or kayaks to paddle in the lovely cypress treed lake. Nice hiking trails, one of less than a mile between the campground and nature center. Great for nature lovers. Campground has a circular paved road with 20 dirt sites about a central bathhouse that was clean with hot showers. Several water faucets by circular road. No site E/W/S. Many trees. The attraction is the nature center, lake and trails. Very pleasant and helpful park rangers. I would stay there again in my Roadtrek B van. - 210jem
