As others have said the campground is a little out of the way. The road is narrow but we did not have a problem with our 37 ft 5th wheel. The site we had was gravel and was sort of dipped down below ground level. We did not have rain but I could see that mud would have been pretty bad. The new gravel was loose and I had to use 4 wheel drive to pull the camper out. The fire ring could use some improvement, it was only pavers layed on the ground. It's early in the season and they were doing a lot of work to get ready. It looks like a nice park and we would stay again. We camped at Fredericksburg VA / Washington DC S. KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

We needed a nice place to stay during a trip south on I-95, and with not many options, this seemed to have the best reviews. It was OK, but not great for an overnighter. It's a 10-minute drive from I-95, and the road to the campground is 2+ miles of very narrow, hilly, winding country road... a couple times we were sure we would either scrape against oncoming vehicles or drop our right wheels off onto the shoulder/ditch. The road is too just narrow for today's big rigs. We had one bar of Verizon but were not able to get any data to work, and one bar of AT&T (4G) which worked intermittently. The campground WiFi worked decently well, but it's worth noting the campground was 3/4 empty when we were there. It's a very rustic campground with gravel roads and sites. Sites are typical KOA size... not especially large, but not right on top of each other. Check-in was very friendly and efficient, and the camp store was larger than usual. While the campground itself was nice, in the future we will likely look elsewhere due to the narrow access road and lack of cell signal here. We camped at Fredericksburg VA / Washington DC S. KOA in a Motorhome.

The entrance reminds you of an old KOA. There's a narrow entrance with lots of trees and an uneven road. Driving up to the office, you start to wonder how you are going to get satellite service with all the trees. On the way to our patio site everything opened up. The site sat right off the pond and had a clear South-West exposure. Had no problem getting Direct TV. When traveling the 95 corridor through Virginia, this is a nice place to stay. We camped at Fredericksburg VA / Washington DC S. KOA in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice, well-located campground. It is located off a country road 20 minutes south of downtown Fredericksburg. The staff are great, the store is good, and this place is probably hopping in the summer. Many of the sites are among the trees, all have ample room, and most slow fires. There is a pond with fishing. We have just 2 minor complaints. The cable is quite limited (25 stations, no public tv), and neither our ATT nor our Verizon phone could sustain a phone conversation. Neither of those concerns would matter if the wifi was not limited.

Overall, we like the setting and the owner's attention to details. Yes, we will stay here again. We camped at Fredericksburg VA / Washington DC S. KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Older park in the middle of the woods. Last 3 miles to campground are on a very narrow winding road with no shoulder. Good signage. Park is in a valley full of trees with a nice pond and brook. Rustic setting. WiFi is mediocre to bad. No AT&T signal at all, and Verizon is not much better. Given the lack of cell coverage, the WiFi really needs to be improved. Due to the trees, very few sites will be able to use satellite and only a few broadcast HDTV channels are available. Power, water, and sewer all seemed to work well. Sites are close, and nearly everyone builds a fire so the whole campground is often full of hazy smoke on cold nights. Depending on your site, your neighbor's firepit may be very close to your camper. Sites are gravel and while not flat, most are reasonably level if you have levelling blocks. This is a good family camping site with lots to do for kids. Cabins are available for rent. The campground was clean and well-kept even though it appears to be older. Interior roads are in decent shape and easy to navigate. Trees are kept trimmed. Other than fellow campers, the campground is very quiet due to its remote location. Trash pickup at sites was nice. Some sites had fire rings and picnic tables. Ours did not although it was a pull through. I would stay here again. We camped at Fredericksburg VA / Washington DC S. KOA in a Motorhome.

We stayed on the first row, it felt like we were more outside the campgrounds, gravel site, lots of trees. They did not enforce the 10pm quiet time. Thursday and Friday nights people were very loud outside till 1am. Neighbors fire pit 3 feet from our bedroom window. (we left a day early because of the noise). Small picnic table on site. Onsite trash pickup each day. We probably won't go back or if we did, I would not stay in the first row. We camped at Fredericksburg VA / Washington DC S. KOA in a Travel Trailer.

I am not a huge KOA fan, I would rather boon dock. I travel nationally, so end up staying at a lot of them for one night to get water, dump, etc. This was an outstanding campground. Not too many sites, nicely wooded, great store, quiet, well maintained with a cute little pond and decent pool. The staff was outstanding. I was getting a new trailer at a local rv place so had to stay there, the transaction was a disaster and took two days. Still, this park made me smile! I would go out of my way the next time passing trough the area to stay with them. We camped at Fredericksburg VA / Washington DC S. KOA in a Travel Trailer.

We pulled in to this campground with 20 minutes notice that we were coming. The temperature was HOT! They gave us a beautiful large pull-thru site with lots of shade! The only time the sun hit our site was for 10 minutes in the morning! Most other sites were similar. Everyone was friendly and the grounds were kept very neat. We will go back again! We stayed in the deluxe rv site with "enhanced fire pit" and patio furniture. The site was nice, but the firewood didn't burn very well. We are a family of 6 and had to pay extra for half of our kids. With the price of the campsite I thought that was overkill. The pool was nice. Playground was fun for the kids, but very outdated. The Gemstone Mining they advertise is you buying a bag of sand/gems for $12 and sifting it in the water. Overall nice little trip with the kids, but felt overpriced. We camped at Fredericksburg VA / Washington DC S. KOA in a Motorhome.

Very clean campground. We stayed in a cabin and never expected it to be so nice. The beds are sealed in vinyl so you get nobody's cooties and they are easy to clean. Many activities for the family. Lovely swimming pool also. We camped with Cub Scouts but chose to be in a cabin as we brought our dog. The campground is very dog friendly. They are extremely pleasant people. Can't wait to go again. This park is located off a narrow, winding road. The entrance road could use some patching. The interior roads are dirt. The sites are gravel and somewhat level. The wifi was weak. We were next to the pond and duck poop was everywhere. (Can't stop the ducks from pooping so I'm just saying). We had a rain storm and our site was flooded. Had to stay inside until it drained. This was my first stay at a KOA and it has made me a convert. Though I prefer more true camping, this was a great location for what I needed, was quiet and away from any major roads, had fairly large sites compared to other KOAs that I have since stayed, great bathrooms and showers, and friendly staff. I was escorted to my site by the staff which was nice as well. The wifi was iffy in the evenings but worked most of the time decently enough. There were some loud neighbors one night fairly late, but otherwise a great stay. We camped at Fredericksburg VA / Washington DC S. KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Fredericksburg downtown was a nice to walk around - good college town with some decent restaurants. Food was a great farm to table restaurant with some outdoor seating. Also, the Mount Olympus Berry Farm is worth the stop for fresh fruit if you are heading toward the Richmond area for any reason.

This was an overnight stay while on the road to a further destination. The registration was a breeze and the park was QUIET. The site was a level, pull-thru for our 32 foot MH. While visiting family in the Fredericksburg area, we stayed at this KOA because it really is the only option. The route to the park is in the country and narrow. There is a steep hill right before the entrance so you hope no one is following too closely and is paying attention. The entrance and interior roads are full of potholes It's a pretty big park with lots of trees. Directv satellite was not possible. We had no Verizon coverage unless we used our extender and then we still only had 3g and one bar so it was pretty useless. The Wi-Fi worked pretty decent but only because we have a Wi-Fi extender. The sites are strange. Most of them have a steep entrance and/or exit with a somewhat flat part in the middle. Some sites in the back were partially flooded due to heavy rain. Each site has a picnic table but they old and very dirty. There's no landscaping, just the "natural" look. They have what they call deluxe sites which just includes a small pergola - hardly makes it deluxe IMHO. There is a small playground with some old worn out equipment. There is a pond which attracts lots of geese and the resultant poop. The pool, although small, is probably the nicest amenity. They have a dump but it is strangely positioned just past where the check-in line starts. We paid for the weekly rate and still think this park is way too expensive. BTW - you have to specify that you want the weekly rate (which is a night free) or they won't give it to you. If you are a KOA member, they will just apply the 10% discount rather than giving you a night free. If not a KOA member, they will charge fully for each night. Weekend and holiday nights are more expensive, and the night you get free is whichever is the last expensive night. We camped at Fredericksburg VA / Washington DC S. KOA in a Motorhome.
