We stayed her for a weekend to tour the civil war battlefields of Fredericksburg. The campground was lovely and the people were very friendly. Our site was an electric/water very shaded back in site. The only real complaint was the fire pit was located under our awning so no fire. The showers were clean but the water pressure was not the best. Was able to connect to the wifi but it was extremely slow. If we come back again to finish touring the battlefields, since it takes more than a day, we would stay here again. We camped at Fredericksburg VA / Washington DC S. KOA in a Travel Trailer.
Very friendly and helpful staff for our first time visit. We opted for a pull through, since we were just staying one night. Our site was a bit narrow and not quite level, but it was satisfactory. Great place if you are traveling through the area and need a place to stay. We camped at Fredericksburg VA / Washington DC S. KOA in a Fifth Wheel.
This KOA is several miles off of the Interstate. We like that because we can listen to the birds instead of traffic noise. We travel in a 45' motor home and pull a trailer. We asked for and were assigned a pull-through site with 50A. This has been our 2nd visit to this KOA and we will return if we travel through this area. One area of concern at this KOA is that the pull-through sites are not necessarily completely level on the pullout side. You may have to raise the coach level to avoid scraping. We walked the sites this time prior to selecting one to make sure we will not have this problem. This is a very nice, well kept, clean and wooded KOA. Highly recommended. We camped at Fredericksburg VA / Washington DC S. KOA in a Motorhome.

This is a mostly terrific park away from the hustle bustle of I-95. The staff are excellent, the grounds are nice, and most sites are fairly level and good size. Their activities for the kids on Easter weekend were terrific. Unfortunately, the price to stay here is just getting too expensive. We used to come here 3 or 4 times a year, but now only come for our Spring shakedown trip because it's convenient. We camped at Fredericksburg VA / Washington DC S. KOA in a Fifth Wheel.
Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $54.00
A little further from the sights than we'd like, but a great little CG. Very quiet, with a nice walking trail on site. Some cable issues, but we were able to hook up to the neighboring site. Very weak Verizon signal - data fluctuated from 3G to 1 bar of 4G. We camped at Fredericksburg VA / Washington DC S. KOA in a Fifth Wheel.
Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $55.00
This campground is a bit off the beaten track and access road is narrow, two lanes and has some "interesting" blind curves. Pretty lake is a unique highlight. I suspect that some of the sites could become muddy in heavy rains. Extremely friendly staff! We camped at Fredericksburg VA / Washington DC S. KOA in a Motorhome.
Date of Stay: March, 2015 - $47.00
First time stopping at this KOA. A few miles off I-95 but not bad. Very friendly and quick registration. Well stocked store. We were led to our site. Site was level, easy hookups . Will return when in the area. Close to Washington DC. We camped at Fredericksburg VA / Washington DC S. KOA in a Motorhome.

I stayed at this campground as base camp to see the Civil War battlefields in the area and Washington DC. My campsite was a bit unlevel, but I was able to park the trailer at an angle and it worked out well. The pull-through site was really long. They have a pond with a fountain in the middle. As far as the smell that some others have posted, I didn't notice it until I walked right up to the bank of it and then it wasn't that bad. Most of the interior roads were in good shape. Staff were working on the ones that were rough. Road leading to the campground was a bit narrow and curvy. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful with anything I needed. If in the area again, I would stay at this campground, but would probably get one of the back-in sites with the patio. We camped at Fredericksburg VA / Washington DC S. KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Although a lot of improvements have been made to this park, for the price, I expect more. I can stay at a Good Sam 10/10/10 rated RV park in Williamsburg for less cost and get a concrete pad and patio with brand new asphalt roadways. At this KOA, most of the sites are gravel and the asphalt roadways need repair. Also, I reported a problem with a loose sewer connection the first day we were here and it was never taken care of. They need a better system for tracking maintenance requirements. Overall the park is still good and we would stay here again, but it's not our first choice anymore. We camped at Fredericksburg VA / Washington DC S. KOA in a Fifth Wheel.
Really nice wooded, clean campground. Our site, 26, had a nice area for the picnic table and decent space between the site next to us. However, other sites, like the one on the driver side of our camper, had their picnic table 2' from our sewer connection. Do your homework and try to request a nice site if you are staying for a few days. Having said that, I would say 80% of the campers were just overnighters in transit to somewhere else. Overall a nice campground for a short stay. We camped at Fredericksburg VA / Washington DC S. KOA in a Travel Trailer.
We loved this park. We were in site #93, a long pull through with no trees for satellite access. The price reflects $6 a day for 2 grandkids. They had a great time at the fishing pond. It's the best we've had at any KOA. The store is stocked well. Nice laundry room, $2 a wash and .25 for 7 min of drying. The pool was very nice. Very friendly people work here. There's great signage to get you to this quiet park in the wilderness. There are trains off in the distance but they weren't annoying. My husband suggests some of the pull-throughs could be situated for motorhomes to be facing the pond. We received a lot of history lessons by visiting Fredericksburg and several other battlegrounds. I would have rated this park a 10 but their Wi-Fi was weak and our Verizon signal was 1 bar. Also the picnic table was small for 4 people and a grill. If we are ever around this area again, we would stay here. We camped at Fredericksburg VA / Washington DC S. KOA in a Motorhome.
Good interior road, nice wide sites, even had some patio sites with a fire pit, and patio furniture. Nice pool area and a fishing pond. Would definitely stay here again. We camped at Fredericksburg VA / Washington DC S. KOA in a Motorhome.
We were greeted and escorted to our level pull-through site extremely efficiently. The staff was friendly and helpful and anxious to please. The laundry was air conditioned and clean, and the upgraded shower/restrooms were most inviting. Their store was very well-stocked. This campground offers lots of entertainment for children (gemstone panning, paddleboats, playground, and pool). Overall, we would say this campground is a great credit to the KOA foundation. Our only criticism is the signage on Route 1 South which we found confusing as to where to turn. When you see the KOA sign indicating 2 plus miles for the campground be prepared to turn at the next left and then proceed on Route 607 the 2 miles to the campground. Keep an eye open for the campground entrance sign on your right as you come down the last hill. It is an abrupt right turn.We would definitely return. The price we paid reflects the rate with the KOA discount card. Our trailer is 33' long. We camped at Fredericksburg VA / Washington DC S. KOA in a Fifth Wheel.
Typical KOA. Shaded pull-throughs. Clean facilities. Close to restaurants and Fredericksburg. Road to park is narrow and twisty. Good for overnight, or weekend. Pool was dirty and laundry room was not clean and smelled. We camped at Fredericksburg VA / Washington DC S. KOA in a Fifth Wheel.
