Campground was small and quiet, which is what we enjoy. Came here because it was close to home for our first excursion in our new RV. The entire grounds were very clean, staff was constantly riding around checking all areas. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They have added a food truck that serves pizza, dogs, etc in the evenings and breakfast in the morning. Nice camp store for any basic necessities you may have forgotten. We will surely return. We camped at Fredericksburg VA / Washington DC S. KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Only 6 or 7 miles away from Dominion Raceway and Camping World to the south and about the same to the Massaponax area to the north which has just about any kind of restaurant or store you would need.

Very nice park. Loved the trees. Staff very friendly and helpful. Long, level site. Easy in and out. 607, the road others are complaining about, is no big deal. There's little traffic on it and we went side by side with a school bus and had plenty of room. Looking forward to staying here in the fall. We camped at Fredericksburg VA / Washington DC S. KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Good value at $45.00. Lots of room to het our 41' 5th wheel in and out. Staff friendly. They have a small store, a food truck open at certain times, a small lake which we were camped on. The road in the park is a little bumpy with potholes, just take your time. We would stay here again if in the area. The road leading off the highway is about 2 miles and very narrow. I would've given higher marks if the interior roads were better. We camped at Fredericksburg VA / Washington DC S. KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

To visit DC, you can take amtrak but at 6AM, or drive about 1.3 hour to get on the subway which we did. We took the Old Trolley Tour company in DC, we have found them to be the best

Park nice and clean, fairly spacious sites, especially for a KOA, many Big Rig friendly sites. Pool very clean, only downside was the large flock of Canada Geese that would leave their calling cards throughout the campground. Spoke with manager who is equally frustrated as the geese are protected in Virginia. We camped at Fredericksburg VA / Washington DC S. KOA in a Motorhome.

Staff is great. They work hard to keep the campground neat and clean. Trash is picked up very promptly! WII FI worked pretty good. Verizon service is very spotty even with our extender. Most sites are long but you have to do a little jockeying to find the sweet spot. Overall, quiet but you are definely aware of the nearby trains. There is also a race track a few miles away, and when it is used the engine noise is apparent. We only heard them a couple of times. As others mentioned, the road leading here is narrow and winding so take your time. It is pricey to stay here but campgrounds are very limited in the area. We camped at Fredericksburg VA / Washington DC S. KOA in a Motorhome.

As others have said the campground is a little out of the way. The road is narrow but we did not have a problem with our 37 ft 5th wheel. The site we had was gravel and was sort of dipped down below ground level. We did not have rain but I could see that mud would have been pretty bad. The new gravel was loose and I had to use 4 wheel drive to pull the camper out. The fire ring could use some improvement, it was only pavers layed on the ground. It's early in the season and they were doing a lot of work to get ready. It looks like a nice park and we would stay again. We camped at Fredericksburg VA / Washington DC S. KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Had a break down and spent the night here, very peaceful camp ground, pretty with lots of trees. Had a bit of trouble getting into our spot (My fault it was after dark). Will defiantly stay here again. We camped at Fredericksburg VA / Washington DC S. KOA in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We needed a nice place to stay during a trip south on I-95, and with not many options, this seemed to have the best reviews. It was OK, but not great for an overnighter. It's a 10-minute drive from I-95, and the road to the campground is 2+ miles of very narrow, hilly, winding country road... a couple times we were sure we would either scrape against oncoming vehicles or drop our right wheels off onto the shoulder/ditch. The road is too just narrow for today's big rigs. We had one bar of Verizon but were not able to get any data to work, and one bar of AT&T (4G) which worked intermittently. The campground WiFi worked decently well, but it's worth noting the campground was 3/4 empty when we were there. It's a very rustic campground with gravel roads and sites. Sites are typical KOA size... not especially large, but not right on top of each other. Check-in was very friendly and efficient, and the camp store was larger than usual. While the campground itself was nice, in the future we will likely look elsewhere due to the narrow access road and lack of cell signal here. We camped at Fredericksburg VA / Washington DC S. KOA in a Motorhome.

The entrance reminds you of an old KOA. There's a narrow entrance with lots of trees and an uneven road. Driving up to the office, you start to wonder how you are going to get satellite service with all the trees. On the way to our patio site everything opened up. The site sat right off the pond and had a clear South-West exposure. Had no problem getting Direct TV. When traveling the 95 corridor through Virginia, this is a nice place to stay. We camped at Fredericksburg VA / Washington DC S. KOA in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice, well-located campground. It is located off a country road 20 minutes south of downtown Fredericksburg. The staff are great, the store is good, and this place is probably hopping in the summer. Many of the sites are among the trees, all have ample room, and most slow fires. There is a pond with fishing. We have just 2 minor complaints. The cable is quite limited (25 stations, no public tv), and neither our ATT nor our Verizon phone could sustain a phone conversation. Neither of those concerns would matter if the wifi was not limited.

Overall, we like the setting and the owner's attention to details. Yes, we will stay here again. We camped at Fredericksburg VA / Washington DC S. KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Older park in the middle of the woods. Last 3 miles to campground are on a very narrow winding road with no shoulder. Good signage. Park is in a valley full of trees with a nice pond and brook. Rustic setting. WiFi is mediocre to bad. No AT&T signal at all, and Verizon is not much better. Given the lack of cell coverage, the WiFi really needs to be improved. Due to the trees, very few sites will be able to use satellite and only a few broadcast HDTV channels are available. Power, water, and sewer all seemed to work well. Sites are close, and nearly everyone builds a fire so the whole campground is often full of hazy smoke on cold nights. Depending on your site, your neighbor's firepit may be very close to your camper. Sites are gravel and while not flat, most are reasonably level if you have levelling blocks. This is a good family camping site with lots to do for kids. Cabins are available for rent. The campground was clean and well-kept even though it appears to be older. Interior roads are in decent shape and easy to navigate. Trees are kept trimmed. Other than fellow campers, the campground is very quiet due to its remote location. Trash pickup at sites was nice. Some sites had fire rings and picnic tables. Ours did not although it was a pull through. I would stay here again. We camped at Fredericksburg VA / Washington DC S. KOA in a Motorhome.

We stayed on the first row, it felt like we were more outside the campgrounds, gravel site, lots of trees. They did not enforce the 10pm quiet time. Thursday and Friday nights people were very loud outside till 1am. Neighbors fire pit 3 feet from our bedroom window. (we left a day early because of the noise). Small picnic table on site. Onsite trash pickup each day. We probably won't go back or if we did, I would not stay in the first row. We camped at Fredericksburg VA / Washington DC S. KOA in a Travel Trailer.
