5 Parks near Front Royal, Virginia
Jun 2015 - $36.00
Park is not well maintained. Restrooms and showers were not clean. The pool was huge, but the deck and fence were in bad shape. - Sherryjn
Aug 2014 - $46.00
We, myself,son-his girlfriend and my 7,6,2 year old grand daughters camped for the first time at Front Royal RV Campround this past weekend Aug 15-17. The campground didn't fit the description on their website- the hot tub was broken, bath house closed where we were camping, other one was by the office at the opposite end of the campground. Site was small and uneven. There weren't any activities for the girls and there were no other children to be seen, campground had lots of open sites for a weekend stay. For adults only it would be very quiet. We were disappointed and will not stay there again. - grandma2girls
Jul 2014 - $55.00
We stayed there a single night as we were passing by. The main attraction was that the owners were willing to allow late-night check-in. The sites were far from level, but we did OK with our auto-leveler in our 37 foot rig. 50 amp power was OK. There was a pool, but we really didn't check anything out. The store had the basics, but some things had no prices, so the owner just made something up (though not unreasonable). - Brian Gould
Aug 2012 - $28.00
Warning: Read all reviews. I will add to what was not stated. First a very narrow rough dirt road entrance in a bad spot in the highway. The 82 year old owner was rude and greedy. Wanted extra $3.00 For the towed. Once she found out our holding tanks were near full she refused to let us use her dump station. Said she had just had her septic pumped and didn't want it filled up again. Not to mention a strong odor of alcohol as we conversed. She did agree to give us a refund. We would not recommend this park to anyone. - arlin
Jun 2009 - $25.00
So much potential...shaded sites, quiet stream. And then there was the nasty lady who runs the place and the trashy appearance of the campground itself. When we arrived there was one other camper already there. We were placed right next to them - no option for moving to a more secluded site. Owner/host never got out of her chair when we arrived. Never a friendly wave or 'hello'. Just give me your money - park over there. Campsite wasn't very level, filled with trash and cigarette butts. There was even a sign at the office encouraging campers to burn trash in the campfire. A bit of traffic noise but the deal breaker was the trash and host. We won't be back. - Doneitall
Jun 2009 - $30.00
My wife and I have a small class C. We decided to stay here based on the review and the Web site. When we arrived we noticed garbage and leftover food all over a table outside the office, There was so much junk we had to walk around the patio to get to the office. On our way to the office an older lady came out of a trailer beside the office. We asked for a full hookup. She quoted $27 for a mostly grass pad. Then stated that it was a backin. I said ok, we will unhook the towed. She said in that case it would be an extra $3. I said no thanks and left. On our way out we looked at the sites. We are glad we passed this one by. - afundaburk
Aug 2015 - $21.00
There needs to be an addition in the RV Club books that this is a members only park and non-members are put in a section C slum. A long walk to all the amenities.
No cable, WIFI took three tries to connect. RR Tracks nearbye. I hope they are not active.
Took 15 minutes to register thanks to waiting for the snotty gate guard to let members in and out.
Was going to stay three days. One will be enough. - Author
Jul 2015 - $10.00
Stayed one night with C2C. Very convenient for a quick stop over. Park could use a little work. Many seasonals but all were friendly as was the park staff. Very much geared toward families with lots of amenities, though we did not use them. Would stay again. - ds_dandy
Jun 2015 - $1.00
Our lot was on gravel, and narrow. It wasn't really level, but we managed. We didn't have a problem with the satellite reception. They did have a nice fenced in area for the dogs. The weather was really chilly and rainy so we didn't use the pool or mini golf, which seemed very nice. The lots on the river all seemed to be full for the park members. - lynette47
Sep 2014 - $35.00
This is a very plain Jane park with only a few sites that all back to the river. Pads are gravel, barely. We arrived in the early afternoon to find no one at the office. We asked someone that was a seasonal camper and he had no idea what we should do. The signage said to call a number and not to pull into a site. We called and two hours later still no return call. We went ahead and picked a site, anyway. Finally someone, not the manager, came by and took our payment although we could not use our credit card as was stated on the web site. The water was also very brown even after running the water for a minute after hooking up. We only stayed overnight although we had planned on a 3 night stay. - HRambler
Sep 2012 - $35.00
Maybe just the first 6 sites have 50amp service. The rest are 30amp with some sewer hookups. All have water and all back up on a bank on the Shenandoah River. There is a boat ramp and apparently deep water with a little current that had me concerned about launching a kayak. We had to use 2x6's under the front tires to level and the soft ground absorbed about half of the boards under the jacks of our diesel pusher. The WiFi was strong and fairly fast. About half the sites seem to be seasonal. - Juandering
Aug 2010 - $35.00
This campground is off Rt. 66, and there are signs on the highway and off to direct you. We've stayed here twice for a night. It is basically a large grassy area with a line of sites on the Shenandoah River and treed. There is a boat ramp and fishing in the river. Very peaceful and clean. Picnic tables and fire rings. You pick your spot and the owner comes around in the AM for payment. Seem to be some seasonals, but lots of sites available. - poodlecamper

Under normal circumstances, I am a travel trailer camper. My stay at this "resort" was in a cabin, but I looked at the facility with the experienced eyes of a rv camper. I found the site sizes to be average. The roads were tighter and more narrow and looked to be an issue with bigger rigs. I did walk to one of the shower houses....DISMAL! Very outdated looking and had not been cleaned in several days as there was a large, dried fecal smudge on the floor that had animal tracks in it and there were black shoe prints all over the floor. No effort had been made to mop or clean anything. The added fees for use of the ATM were outrageous. And if you want a scoop of ice cream be prepared to part with an arm and a leg...$3.49 for a single scoop. And based on the scoop size, you'd think they were scooping gold bouillon. I was actually glad that we didn't have our camper, but also sad that I had to stay in one of the disgusting "rustic" cabins. "Rustic" translates into very small, extremely filthy, outdated space. Not sure who they keep around as the cleaning crew, but they must be visually impaired and have no olfactory sense. There were visible cobwebs and spiders in every room. I did not get the shower curtain closed well enough and some water splashed out on the floor. I made a visibly clean spot on the dirty linoleum just by rubbing my foot around with a wet paper towel. The steps on the front of the cabin were loose and rotting. The maintenance crew came to "fix" the step, which consisted of an inadequate patch to prop up the sagging corner. I pity the fool who spends hard-earned money to rent this dump then has the misfortune of being the person to fall through the steps and then pay a doctor office co-pay for a tetanus shot. I see no reason on this earth to ever go to this place again. - LRDavis
Oct 2014 - $15.00
Fair Park/Certainly not a "resort". Level gravel full hookup sites. 50 amp and wifi at extra cost. Cell good. Good restaurant and pool area. Small store. 5 or 6 minutes to Shenandoah N.P. Pretty hard to get to from any direction. Water is bad. It is really muddy. We did not notice until we started to leave. Had to buy new outside, in line, AND refrigerator filters! - teepee51
Sep 2014 - $15.00
Lady who works in front office, has an attitude problem. Bathrooms in clubhouse had ancient rusty hardware, showers and curtains were old and moldy, carpet smelled moldy.
Kids playground was old and in need of upgrading.
The new pool and restaurant are the the only things worth staying around for. Won't stay here again. Bring in your own water, their water killed my water filters. Try not to talk to the woman in the front office. - PurplePassion
