This is not what I call a resort, more of a campground. Has amenities, none which were active since this was after Labor Day. Sites where they wanted to put us were either already occupied or the drop off to unhook or hookup is extreme. Other areas were wooded with a bunch of trees or were too short for our unit. Seems to be located on the side of a mtn, so getting in, out and around the campground was a pain and the roads through area A are quite tedious. The only more level sites seemed to be at the very bottom of the mtn along the river area where most are permanent or have no sewer. The nicer sites up by where you come in to this campground are reserved for local contractors, even though they were not all full, we were not allowed to park our unit there for the one night stay. Took about 45 minutes to find a place we could safely fit our unit & rig. I called around lunch on the day we were to arrive to make a reservation and was told yes they could accommodate us, just come to the security booth and they would fond us a spot. Did not want our info or anything. Seemed like they just wanted to get off the phone. Was very disappointed in the whole mess. The poor girl in the security booth once we arrived was very nice and did try hard to help us, and didn't have a way of knowing that the sites that showed open were occupied. Someone other than her were not on top of their job. We camped at North Fork Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

This is an older campground and 400 or more sites on several levels going down the mountain. There is some sort of ownership organization. The week I was here seemed empty until the weekend. Many units appear to be here seasonal or longer. Some are very dirty looking which takes away from the word "resort". I was lucky to get a back-in site right on the river! Very nice. I had no problem backing in or leveling my unit. No cable TV; got an ABC and CBS station with several others using my antenna. Wi-Fi was poor. Showers were aged but clean. I used the laundry facilities; $2 for a washer and $2 for the dryer. We camped at North Fork Resort in a Travel Trailer.

This is an older Campground. It covers a large area & has 5-6 seperate camping areas. The entrance is at the top of a hill, then you go down a long hill to the camping areas. We were in section 3 in a pull thru site. The sites on this row were terraced up from the road, which made the rear of our fifth wheel about 3 1/2' off the ground. The bath house for section C also contains a laundry with 5 washers & 5 dryers. It cost $2.00 to wash & $2.00 to dry. Two washers were out of order during our stay. The bath house was dated, but the lavatories & showers were clean. The pools were large & clean. The Family Center (rotunda) has a tv room with satellite tv. It also has a billiard room & a game/craft room. Due to the location in the river bottom, OTA tv reception is very poor. We were only able to get 2 channels, an ABC station from Harrisonburg & a PBS station. Wifi was barely useable early mornings, but was very slow & inadequate the rest of the day. The picnic tables need the wood replaced on the tops & seats. The staff was friendly & helpful. Rate is Coast to Coast.. We camped at North Fork Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a very old campground. It is some kind of strange ownership organization. We did not see the "owner sites". The PA transient sites are rough. It was dirty, dusty, and leveling was not possible. By parking in the middle of the site, our right side and rear were very far off the ground. No one was level. There are full hook-ups, but that is the only good thing. The staff was not seen at any time during our stay. There are a lot of what looks like long-term residents and run down RVs. We will not stay there again. We camped at North Fork Resort in a Motorhome.

The campground is older and that's okay. The manager is not the friendliest person. I would like to return but will not as long as she is there. Not sure how long she has been there or how long she will be there. The sewer smells since the sites are on hills. Wifi does not work very good, no TV service. No shade, very hot in the camper. Beware of the manager, if she doesn't like you look out she will ban you from the property and your camper too. We camped at North Fork Resort in a Travel Trailer.

This is a very large campus that includes several campgrounds within the complex. Some sites are on higher elevations near the entrance. Others are on the pool and rec area level, and others are near the river in the valley. It is a member-owned property, which means there are quite a few long term residents, and some vacant RV'S that appeared to be occasionally used. The property is older, but the facilities weren't bad. We stayed in the valley next to the river. There is no direct access to the water, except for three designated areas. It is possible to tube the river from the "put in" to the "take out". Farms are located above the property so tubers must be aware of run off risks. There used to be a store and restaurant on site, but they burned. A small store is located about a half mile away, while large retail and restaurants are just a few miles away in Front Royal. There are three pools with a snack shop. Two pools are open until 10 pm. There is also mini-golf and a rec. center. Cell and WiFi are better at the upper levels of the park. Near the river little to no service cell, AT&T or Verizon, is available, and WiFi hardly worked at all. All pads are limestone, and level. Water, sewer, and electrical were good. It is a scenic area. People in the park were nice. Not sure I would return, however. We camped at North Fork Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Yes the lots are narrow but we have seen alot worse. My husband and I stayed for 2 nights. Was quiet due to off season but the full timers we met were wonderful. We got a riverside spot but on our next trip we want a site that opens up to the grassy field. We hated to leave. Would like to sign up for a membership for us going full time in Sept. I hope we didn't pay for internet because that was not an option given to us. We were given the code. We camped at North Fork Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

We are here using Coast to Coast so our site is free we pay an additional $5 charge for electric per night. We were here in September and it was very warm. The original site was is the C lot which others reference. It does not have a tree anywhere and truly is a parking lot. We took a walk around the park and found the riverfront sites. I spoke with reservations and requested a move and they very kindly gave us a riverfront site. Staff was extremely nice and the members of the park were friendly as well. We would stay again. In fact we extended our stay once we moved. The park could really do some major upgrading. Picnic tables are wobbly. Looks like several of the bath houses in the members area are brand new. We camped at North Fork Resort in a Motorhome.

We booked this park through Coast to Coast, had never been here before, and didn't know what to expect. I thought it was funny that we didn't have to check-in at an office, the gate guard handled everything, and sent us to our site. To our surprise, our site was one of the premier sites in the park, backed up to the river, at the end of the row, so out our door was a large grassy area and trees with a pretty wooden fence. Gorgeous! That said, the site was gravel and narrow, but hubby backed right into place. Our site was nearly level so no problems with the auto leveler. The trailer to our left was fairly close, but have been in parks where they are closer, so not too bad. We camped at North Fork Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Skyline Drive, Shenandoah National Park, Two different caverns. Also there is "Cooter's", a "redneck" shop owned by the man who played the station owner/mechanic on "Dukes of Hazard". The address is Sperryville, VA, but it isn't far from Front Royal.

Stayed as Coast-to-Coast members. Park appears to be well maintained with fresh pavement sections on several roads. Gravel roads and pads in the C-section were level and graded. Sites in the upper C section have been reworked, now there are 24 sites instead of 35, with 50-amp service ($5 per night additional charge). Very little grass. Site edges are marked by RR ties. WiFi signal is strong, and we were not charged. We camped at North Fork Resort in a Motorhome.

Site was very difficult to level our RV. Site is narrow. Can use either awning or firepit, but not both. Parking for towed is iffy at site. Roads in C level are gravel and gullied. Internet is not reliable and you must pay for code. We camped at North Fork Resort in a Motorhome.

The price reflects a Coast to Coast membership. We stayed here two nights. We did not use any of the park facilities and only checked in at the guard gate so we had no dealings with the staff other than the security guard who was very organized, friendly and helpful. Park was clean, roads were good, and location was convenient for us. Satellite and Verizon phone worked good here. We camped at North Fork Resort in a Motorhome.

There needs to be an addition in the RV Club books that this is a members only park and non-members are put in a section C slum. A long walk to all the amenities.

No cable, WIFI took three tries to connect. RR Tracks nearbye. I hope they are not active.

Took 15 minutes to register thanks to waiting for the snotty gate guard to let members in and out.

Was going to stay three days. One will be enough. We camped at North Fork Resort in a Motorhome.

Stayed one night with C2C. Very convenient for a quick stop over. Park could use a little work. Many seasonals but all were friendly as was the park staff. Our lot was on gravel, and narrow. It wasn't really level, but we managed. We didn't have a problem with the satellite reception. They did have a nice fenced in area for the dogs. The weather was really chilly and rainy so we didn't use the pool or mini golf, which seemed very nice. The lots on the river all seemed to be full for the park members.
