Overall Rating:

This campground has the potential to be excellent but not quite there. Yes it has great amenities and activities for kids, a beautiful setting, dock for fishing and a friendly staff but the infrastructure is average to weak. Gravel roads have pot holes, severe puddling and lack drainage in places. Our sewer hookup was extremely high and cable connector stripped off. It is obvious a work (construction/grading) is being done to correct these problems and once completed will move park to next level. Price for off season patio site was high ($65 average - 3 nights) given problems. Very convenient to Jamestown and Gloucester historic sites. We camped in a 27" motor home towing and did have plenty of room for maneuvering. Campground has a mix of permanent, seasonal and transient campers. Would highly recommend for families with kids but it is one of those places you have mixed feelings about if travelling as adults. We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone at Gloucester Point in a Motorhome.

Excellent Italian Restaurant "Tony and Milena's" close by on RT. 17, don't let sign saying "Pizzeria" fool you, they have authentic and delicious Sicilian dishes.

Nice park, not great. Not a great value for the price. Good location. Bathhouses didn't have a/c and you sweat just trying to use the bathroom. Pools were filthy by Sunday morning. Staff wasn't as friendly as you would expect, most were not rude but also didn't seem very happy to be there. Our site was very level and had a few trees to help with the heat of the day. The spots were nice sized. The Yogi dance party was loved by the little kids in our party. Be forewarned that this is on the water and in the woods. The bugs laughed at our three types of bug sprays. Seems their computer systems could use some updates, as they constantly had trouble with them every time we went to pay for something. Firewood is high at $7 for approximately 6 pieces. Overall, we enjoyed our weekend as a group, but wouldn't return to Jellystone again. We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone at Gloucester Point in a Travel Trailer.

Great place for kids. Daily and weekend planned activities. Lots of things for families to do from kayaks, fishing, camp store, fire ring and picnic table at each site, paddle boats, boat ramp and boat cleaning station, dog park, prepared food, two nice pools. Trash pickup done at your site by the staff. I think we got a 15% off military discount as well. The camp store is newly remodeled and is large. Interior roads need several improvements and more gravel as there is several potholes. Electric golf carts are allowed only. No gas powered carts. Quiet hours start at 11 pm. Good place. Will go again. We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone at Gloucester Point in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here during the week checking in on Mon and out on Fri. I was nervous about staying at this campground after all the reviews I have read on different sites, but was pleasantly surprised with our stay. Checking in was quick and easy. Was quickly escorted to our site and asked if we had any questions. The pool and water zone area are very clean. The concession stand was quick with food prices reasonable. It did rain quite heavy one afternoon, so there were large puddles around the campground but that is to be expected with how hard and amount of rain received in a short time period. On the left side of campground appeared to be seasonal campers. Did not drive over to that side but from those that we saw the sites looked to be well taken care of. Campers and workers all seemed to be pleasant. Short drive to Yorktown and Williamsburg. Would camp here again. We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone at Gloucester Point in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Close to Yorktown and Williamsburg so can take a trip to Busch Gardens, Water Country or any of the historical sites around the area. If you have military access, visit Yorktown Naval Weapons Station and take advantage of discount passes to the amusement park and historical areas. We saved close to $100 on tickets to Water Country. Worth the slight detour.

Overall Rating:

This was our second stay at this Yogi Bear. The first time was when they were just switching over to a Yogi Bear campground so we thought we would give them another try since the first trip was not a favorable one. This time we got a pull-through on the back side of the common field area, which was site #30. The site was level in certain places and had some shade. The sewer, power, cable and water connections worked and located near the middle of the site. The sites are very close together. The only problem is this area does not drain well so if any small to moderate amount of rain comes, your site will flood with lots of standing water (up to your ankles). This was a holiday weekend so the park was full and they had lots of staff on hand. This site is directly located on the main back road so you get all the dust kicked up by all the vehicles and golf cart traffic. They have a speed limit for all vehicles including the golf carts but no one obeys it especially the staff members flying back and forth on their golf carts. Nothing is more frustrating then trying to eat a meal at your site with dust just covering you and your food with golf carts buzzing by you like worker bees. The price you pay for the site is way too high for the small overcrowded pool and basic park amenities. The park is filled with local folks that live on average 10 to 30 minutes away so they utilize the day pass option for fishing, crabbing and boat launch. The next time we come back to the area, we'll look for other campground options in Williamsburg or the Chesapeake Bay / Virginia Beach area. We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone at Gloucester Point in a Travel Trailer.

This campground has a large number of permanent campers who are not very friendly and act like they own the whole park. During our whole stay we felt like we were in a trailer park that nobody wanted us in. The pool area and playground are too small and were always packed. We will never return to this park, by far the worst place we have ever stayed simply because we felt so unwelcome by the regulars. Also the small pool and water park are open to the locals, a lot of wild teens. Too crowded and unsafe for small kids. We wasted a lot of money here because they wouldn't allow us a refund. Never again. We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone at Gloucester Point in a Travel Trailer.

We camped here for 4 nights in a 31ft RV and had a pull thru site which was very long. We really enjoyed this campground. There is a nice pool with an attached small splash area and 2 small water slides (not open the entire day.) Also a jumping pillow, movies at night, small rec center, and adequate store. Nice boat dock area where everyone fished. Very nice enclosed dog park on high ground. WiFi but no cable. Bathrooms had complete toilet sink and shower in each room. Only complaints were that bathrooms needed more hooks and benches, and the area right outside our front door was muddy. We didn't have enough room to put out our outdoor rug. It rained hard our last day there and there was lots of standing water. Also, they really need more bathrooms because many sites are taken by tent campers in groups with lots of people. Be aware that they sell memberships to locals to use the pool so it can get crowded. This campground is off the beaten path a little and you have to pay a $1 per axle toll on bridge. We enjoyed the seclusion and were still no more than 30 minutes from major attractions. Highly recommend this campground. We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone at Gloucester Point in a Fifth Wheel.

This campground has improved by leaps and bounds. The owners are invested in making this a family friendly place. With the jumping pillow, snack bar, pools, docks..etc...there was a ton to do. Of course there are still improvements that could be made, but it is 100% better than it was. I would recommend this campground for families. Staff could be more friendly. Lots are gravel and were small. People living at this campground were not friendly at all. This place gave me the feel I was at trailer park not a campground. Place is hard to find with out a GPS. Was really expecting more from a "Yogi Bear" campground. Was extremely disappointed and would absolutely not recommend staying here. Don't waste your money. Pictures and brochure are very misleading. The jumping pillow was nice, but other than that, I feel like I wasted money on this campsite. Think this campground is Extremely overpriced for what you get. No cable but TV reception was pretty good with a converter. Gravel sites are very narrow which makes it almost impossible to keep mud and dirt from being tracked in. Could not get WiFi to work even though I'm fairly computer literate. Management said: 'well it should have worked'. Bathrooms were very clean and nice. There is a private stall and shower for each one. Difficult to find if you don't have a GPS. Pool was green (not intentionally), trash was on the ground and not cleaned up throughout the park during our entire 2-week stay. Wi-Fi was off more than on. Overnight/2-night campers (including a small local Good Sam chapter) were assigned spaces immediately beside us though most of the park was empty, including the entire row of full-hook-up pull-through we were in. The Good Sam group allowed some of their dogs to run loose, preventing us from sitting outside with our own dog. The one directly under our bedroom window left his 3 yappy dogs alone for hours each day with the windows and curtains open so that they barked constantly, and complaints to the park did no good. We were unable to enjoy 5 days of our 2-week stay because of the staff's inappropriate space assignments, but no offer of any kind was made to compensate us for the discomfort or inconvenience. We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone at Gloucester Point in a Motorhome.

This campground it now operated as a Yogi Bears Jellystone Resort. They have made many upgrades to the park since last year. They have added a jumping pillow for the kids and a larger playground area. They have a really nice fishing and crabbing pier that all registered campers can use without buying a license. A number of trees have been removed which makes maneuvering and parking much easier. The campground is very quiet. The staff is friendly and helpful. We already have reservations made here for another weekend later this year. In periods of heavy rain the low end of the campground near the river is prone to flooding. Be aware of this when making your reservations. We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone at Gloucester Point in a Fifth Wheel.
