We stayed here a couple of days while visiting attractions in the area. We would stay here again if we were in the area. We were pleasantly surprised by the amount of greenery (grass and trees) in the campground. Pull through sites are quite long and easy to get into. There are some permanent campers in the park and some of their rigs are in pretty bad shape, but the outsides of these sites are well-kept and uncluttered. Truck noise is really not an issue as the trucks parking area isn't in the camping area. We camped at Lee Hi Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This is located behind a large Travel Center and was adequate for a one night stop. The sites are located a few hundred yards behind large overnight truck stop and was full. That said, truck noise was minimal. Our initial security concerns were unfounded. There is a gas station and IHOP on site. We could not level on our site and hookups required full length of electrical cable. Sewer run was long and we did not hookup. If visiting Blue Ridge Parkway or Lexington for a few days, we would flook elsewhere. We camped at Lee Hi Campground in a Motorhome.

Nice overnight camp site at the Travel Center of America truck stop right off I-81 North...it was level site FHP...no cable, but we didn't have any problem with our antenna on rig. Easy pull thru, right behind truck stop and into the campground area ...we did not hear any noises from the truck during the night. We would stay again when traveling. We camped at Lee Hi Campground in a Motorhome.

Bath house dated but clean. Nice pull-through site on lower tier. Fairly level, but just beyond the ability of my auto-levelers. Since the front was low, would have had to chock the wheels and raise the rear off the ground a little to get absolutely level. We camped at Lee Hi Campground in a Motorhome.

Great lunch with our greyhound on nice patio at Don Tequila's. Nice dinner at Pure Foods, again with dog in tow. Pure's fries, both sweet potato and regular, were great.

Having read other reviews we were leery of stopping here but were pleasantly surprised. Although this campground is part of a huge truck stop we were far enough away that we did not hear the trucks down below and our location was basically quiet even though just off the interstate. We had a 30amp, FHU pull through site which was just fine for an overnight stop and we would return in the future. Girl at the "fuel desk" (which is where you check in) was very friendly and helpful. The only thing this place needs is a sign out front stating that the campground is there, currently you have to guess that it might be behind the truck entrance. We camped at Lee Hi Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a truck stop campground. It gets noisy when the truck lot fills. The interstate is right next to it so that's noisy too.

We were on a pull through site (14) with full hookups. The site was narrow and not level. Exiting the park was a puzzle. We drove around looking for the way out.

This place is a last resort stop when nothing else is available. We would not stay there again. Over priced poor value. We camped at Lee Hi Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This is a barebones campground on the hill behind a truck stop. There are multiple sites - pull thru and back in. The pull thrus are full hookup, not sure about the back ins. The shower building is concrete block and is not anything fancy but is utilitarian. It's a great place to stop for overnight or for a few days while visiting the area. If you are hungry, there is a full service restaurant at the foot of the hill and the food is great (of course - it's a truck stop and you know they say to look for the trucks when you are looking for a place to eat). They do take reservations but usually have space if you just stop in passing through. There is a fair amount of truck noise as most of the overnight trucks keep their engines running, but it is not bothersome. We would stay again. We camped at Lee Hi Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

There are several stores in nearby Buena Vista, as well as service stations and restaurants (as well as the restaurant at the truck stop). There are also several tourist attractions nearby.

It is easy on/off interstate but beware, you are staying a football field length from a truck stop where you will go to bed hearing idling trucks and wake up to idling trucks. The upper level gets the interstate noise. The wifi worked well until truck parking lot filled then it slowed. Put tv antenna up and pulled in only 3 stations with lousy reception so forgot about it. Half the camping slots seem to be filled with permanent residents. The middle tier has 6 camping slots in a 1/4 moon shape and only 2 could accommodate a large rig towing or fifth wheel with the rest too small to allow turning around to exit. Our take is the owners used the land the only way they could, turn it into a 3 tier campground. This is the second time we camped here and the last. For $37 with discount it is overpriced and in December we will camp in another campground when we head south. We camped at Lee Hi Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a hard campground to navigate especially with a tow. We were told that the snow had been removed before we made reservations. It had not. There were only 2 sites left because the others were rented to temp construction workers. This shouldn't be called a "campground". They did give us our money back and allowed us to dry camp in the truck parking lot. Avoid at all cost, especially during bad weather. We camped at Lee Hi Campground in a Motorhome.

Long level pull-through gravel sites (on the lower level) behind a truck stop. Water/electric/sewer were fine. Wi-Fi was excellent. Good over the air TV. No picnic table. No shade. Lots of room to walk the dog. Convenient stop for an overnight when traveling. Noise from trucks was not bad. We camped at Lee Hi Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a basic and convenient park with easy on and off for I81 and within a few miles of Lexington VA which is a wonderful little city with so much history. The pull thru sites are level, with well located utilities, the bath/shower is well located and clean with plenty of hot water. Some of the back-in sites have shade and picnic tables. The most serious problem I had was extremely low voltage even though there was not many RVs in the park. The highest voltage I checked with a digital VOM was 109vac in the early morning, If I turned on my one 13.5btu ac unit the voltage dropped to 105.5vac and if I turned on microwave at same time the voltage would drop to 104vac. This was not a individual site problem, I checked some of the other empty sites and found it to be a overall problem. This is a serious problem due to fact that appliances (AC units) will burn the winding out at these low voltages. Due to this problem I would not stay here again. We camped at Lee Hi Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a very convenient campground for an easy on and off overnight stop, although we stayed three nights and found it to be an acceptable place to stay when visiting attractions in the area. The campground lies on a nicely manicured, grassy rise above and behind a large truck stop with much incoming and outgoing traffic. However, we did not find the noise or constant movement of the trucks disturbing or distracting and found the convenience of the gas, the well-stocked store and the restaurant to be big advantages. We stayed here in a 33 foot fifth wheel on a level pull-thru site and would use this stop again in the future even though it is a basic place to stay without tables or firepits. The rate we paid was the Good Sam discount. We camped at Lee Hi Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

An extension of a truck stop with a lot of green space. Restaurant and fuel available. Perfectly acceptable when running AC, but noise from trucks idling in adjacent parking lot could be a problem with windows open. Nice mountain views. We camped at Lee Hi Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This is a very odd campground. It's up on a hill overlooking a giant truck stop. There are no signs directing you to the campground. I just noticed rigs up on the hill and figured we were in the right place. It's very far off the road so there's no truck noise...also no cable, no dumpster, no picnic tables and no amenities. There's a charge for internet. Fine for an overnight stop. There's a store at the gas station as well as a full service restaurant. Down the street there's a Super WalMart and the historic town of Lexington. We camped at Lee Hi Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a great overnight park. It is a parking lot with hookups on a hill above a truck stop. It is about 100 yards to walk to the restaurant and convenience store, but surprisingly the noise level was tolerable. We would stop here again. If you need gas in a large vehicle, don't plan to gas up here. There are only two small, cramped gas pumps. Lots of diesel pumps available. We camped at Lee Hi Campground in a Motorhome.
