This is one of KOA's better parks, & as full time RVers for 5 years we have stayed at many KOA's. Level, solid shale sites, FHU's with reasonable height for sewer connection. Well manicured & maintained, large enclosed pavilion with BBQ area, clean pool, playgrounds, ping pong table, billiard room. Cabins & yurts available. Site spacing is OK, close but not on top of each other. Staff is very helpful with info on local activities. Typical high rates consistent with KOA's. We camped at Luray KOA (formerly Luray RV Resort Country Waye) in a Motorhome.

This is the best KOA we have ever stayed in. It's set in the country in the middle of a farm and cornfields with a beautifully landscaped area in the middle and the sites surrounding this area. The sites overlooking the green area all have a concrete pad in the green area with fire ring, Adirondack chairs and an umbrella. There is also a concrete pad by the coach with table and chairs. The outlying site not directly on the green area all had fire rings and a sitting area. The grounds were immaculate. The road in/out of the park is a little tight, but doable. Only downside was one day the wind was blowing the dairy farm smell to us, but only one day out of a week stay. Staff was friendly and helpful. We camped at Luray KOA (formerly Luray RV Resort Country Waye) in a Motorhome.

Pretty, well manicured campground which is too expensive for what they offer. There is no cable TV, we could only pickup two channels on ouf antenna, and the trees on our site prevented us from getting cable. The utilities were well placed and worked except thatthe seer connection wasn't threaded. No problem for big rigs. If you are travelling on I-81, the campground is far off the interstate. I wouldn't stay again unless I was visiting Luray Caverns. We camped at Luray KOA (formerly Luray RV Resort Country Waye) in a Motorhome.

This park is a delight! From the friendly folks in the office to the relaxing rural setting, one of our best RV park experiences in quite a while. We were in a back-in site up the hill from the tenting area - the view was nice, the sites had plenty of room, and blissfully quiet. At one point, a young lady in a golf cart was going site to site, using bleach water to clean off the picnic tables - never seen that at any other RV park. Nice pool area. Good laundry facilities. Reasonably close to Luray for shopping and restaurants, and good access for exploring Shenandoah National Park. We camped at Luray KOA (formerly Luray RV Resort Country Waye) in a Motorhome.

Beautiful campground with simply awesome views. Very quiet and very clean. Close to Luray Caverns and all local services and a RV friendly Exxon station very near by. Very large and well kept dag park. Staff was very friendly, accommodating and professional.....highly recommend this campground if you are going to see the caverns. Very well maintained, and recently updated park. Our site was a back in on the hill over the south side. Utilities were all good. Convenient to Luray and Shenandoah NP. Typically for KOA a bit overpriced. We camped at Luray KOA (formerly Luray RV Resort Country Waye) in a Motorhome.

By far the best KOA I have ever used. We generally try to come here at least once a year starting back when it was Country Waye. I was worried that when it became a KOA it would change but in some ways such as a second pool it is better. If you are looking for quiet, great views and a great location to explore the valley, the valley it is perfect. We camped at Luray KOA (formerly Luray RV Resort Country Waye) in a Motorhome.

Was a little concerned with the roads based on other reviews however found this to not be an issue. We took 340 through Fort Royal which is a 2-lane road. Easy to find entrance. There is a slightly steep road past the registration area to the campsites, but my co-pilot walked to the top of the hill just to make sure another RV was not exiting. Check in time is 1 pm. Level gravel sites. Beautiful scenic views of farmland and mountains. Peaceful. Lots of grass to walk the dog and a large, shaded and fenced dog park. Clean pool. The grounds and facilities are well maintained. Close to town of Luray which has several restaurants and of course a super Walmart. If you're looking for a peaceful, beautiful Campground, this is the place. We camped at Luray KOA (formerly Luray RV Resort Country Waye) in a Motorhome.

This park is in a beautiful setting. The park is immaculate. It's nice and quiet. It is obvious that the owners take great pride in the grounds and the sites. I would definitely stay here again. We camped at Luray KOA (formerly Luray RV Resort Country Waye) in a Fifth Wheel.

Pricey for so few amenities, but very nicely maintained. I chose the KOA because I have kids, but alas they had little on offer for the little ones (and a couple things mentioned on their site were not actually available). On the plus side, the park is spotless, the sites are really nice, level, gravel sites with fire rings, and the view was great. This is a beautiful park! The staff is friendly and helped us find a dealer when we had trouble with our truck, and recommended local attractions. Everyone greeted you no matter where you were in the park. A large dog park (which we didn't need). Two pools. Very nice tent area. Lending library. It was very quiet with friendly neighbors. Beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. Watching the animals on the adjoining property was calming. We can't wait to go back! This is one of the most beautiful KOAs we've stayed in. It is expensive but there is not a lot of competition. It is located in the country and there is a cow farm right next door. They visited us often and at times, especially at night, the aroma was pretty strong. Being in the country, however, it is quiet. The park has pretty landscaping and lots of mature trees. There are views of the mountains but not from all sites. In general, the sites are long and graveled with a small bit of space between them. Due to narrow interior roads, some are tricky to get into with larger RVs. A few sites slope up to the flat part on top and would only work for smaller units. There are also some pull thru, end to end sites which have more privacy. Each site has a concrete patio with two adirondack chairs, a fire pit, and picnic table. All of the outdoor furniture is clean and in like-new condition. We had Directv coverage in our site as the line of site was between two trees. Verizon coverage 4g and 2 bars. The park gets two main dings. The WII FI is painfully slow, and we gave up on it. For the price paid, the WII FI should be screaming fast and reliable. Also, the park is down a narrow-ish road to a narrow entrance. We had to be very careful to avoid obstacles and tree limbs. Also, there is a rather steep hill up to the campground. It appears to be wide enough for one RV at a time. I'm not sure who wins in a game of chicken! We camped at Luray KOA (formerly Luray RV Resort Country Waye) in a Motorhome.

This was our fourth trip to this campground. It is very picturesque. Surrounded by mountains, very beautiful. New this year, the entrance road has been paved, which is nice. The interior roads are still gravel but are well maintained and easy to navigate. Also new this year is the addition of more deluxe patio sites. The site that we've stayed at in the past has been upgraded to a deluxe patio site and it is very nice. I highly recommend these sites. The grounds are always well manicured. We really love this park. My dog enjoys the bark Park where he can run off leash. Water pressure is good, electrical hookups and sewer connections work as expected. We will be returning there in the fall. This is my favorite campground! We camped at Luray KOA (formerly Luray RV Resort Country Waye) in a Travel Trailer.

We wanted to visit to Luray Caverns and this KOA had sites available so we booked here and it was a great decision because this is one of the best KOA we have visited, ever! It appears to be relatively new, is very clean and vey well kept. The people are friendly and getting to the park is very easy. For us, in a 45ft motorhome towing a 25ft trailer, the entrance was a little tight because of the fancy stone walls bordering it on the left and right. We made it in and the site we booked (upgraded patio) was perfect for us. Now, make a note, though, that this KOArequires a 2 night minimum stay! Fine by us because there is plenty to do in this area. We did the caverns today and will do the sky drive in our dinghy, tomorrow. This KOA is very quiet and lighting is kept to an absolute minimum. We like it that way. We want to see the stars, not be blinded by artificial lighting. We camped at Luray KOA (formerly Luray RV Resort Country Waye) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Luray Caverns are about 4 miles away. At $28 a person it is not cheap but the caverns are a natural wonder and worth the price.

Just take your time walking through the caverns. The guides will try to rush you through because it is a favorite tourist attraction and they run tours all day long.

Nice park with nice restrooms, a little dated but nice. I complained about the shower water being luke warm at best and after 2 days nothing changed. Sites are nice with gravel but they had a nice bit of room so your not on top of each other. Staff friendly but the maintence Dept leaves a lot to be desired when you have a problem.
