We stayed here for the second time over Labor Day weekend. The park was sold out, but quiet and clean throughout the entire stay. The restroom, showers and pool area were all spotless each time we saw them. Since our last visit in 2015, the park has added many upgrades including concrete patios and scenic sites with gazebos. We camped at Luray KOA (formerly Luray RV Resort Country Waye) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Luray has several good spots for shopping, check out Hawksbill Market for gifts and hand made things. Uncle Bucks is a good spot for a decent meal or a drink and is next door to the ice cream store. Be sure to go on the Skyline drive, or visit Luray Caverns.

We were very impressed with this park. We picked one of the premium sites that had a patio and a good view of the farm and were not disappointed. We parked our RV on the level gravel pad and stepped out onto a clean concrete patio, which connected to a concrete area that had a sun cover which covered a nice picnic table and two chairs which were close enough to enjoy an evening fire in the excellent fire pit. This was a very quiet, enjoyable place. The rest rooms were very clean and convenient. The park grounds had beautiful landscaping and well tended gardens. We were close enough to the farm to enjoy the cows mooing and the roosters crowing in the distance. You can tell there is a lot of thought and TLC in this park the moment you walk into the office to check-in. The staff is friendly and helpful and the office area is spotless. They serve coffee and pastries each morning from 8:00 to 10:00am. Wi-Fi was good. No cable connection but we were able to receive several over-the-air channels We only stayed one night as we were on our way home, but will return soon for a longer stay. We camped at Luray KOA (formerly Luray RV Resort Country Waye) in a Motorhome.

Very well-maintained, immaculate, attractive park. They upgraded us to a deluxe site with a deck, table, deluxe fire ring, chairs, and view up on the hill. They have the biggest enclosed dog park I have ever seen. Our site was back-in, but we saw pull-thrus, too. Good location down a quiet road, but not far from Luray Caverns or Skyline Drive. Our lone gripe was the slow wifi. We camped at Luray KOA (formerly Luray RV Resort Country Waye) in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed a week and enjoyed the campground and area immensely. Our nightly rate is an average as during the week and weekend rates are different and it does include our KOA discount. It was pretty much full during our week there, but is was still fairly quiet and peaceful. The spacing between the sites was pretty good. The pools were clean as was the pool furniture and patio. I didn't find the showers to be as "spotless" as previous reviews have mentioned. Not filthy, but definitely not the cleanest I've used (and the time I used the shower was just after the cleaning was performed). I'll also admit we were a bit annoyed having to clean grass clippings off everything - table, chairs, patio, truck, camper, etc. I certainly appreciate them keeping the grass mowed, but for the one time they mowed the grass, we spent a lot of time cleaning up. I think we would stay here again since the area is so scenic. We camped at Luray KOA (formerly Luray RV Resort Country Waye) in a Fifth Wheel.

Take a day and do a Skyline drive trip. Absolutely beautiful country and wildlife. Also, explore some of the lesser known caverns. They all have something different to offer.

This is probably our new favorite KOA. While we normally prefer more rustic state parks for our family camping trips, this small KOA in the Shenandoah Valley is wonderful. We stayed in one of the more expensive sites with concrete pads and pergolas because that was the only site available, but we would have been happy with many of the sites around the campground. Everything was very clean and quiet, and the staff was very helpful. All of the sites were laid out well, with plenty of room. Our only complaints were the lack of a camp store and the lack of air conditioning in the bath houses. The camp store wasn't a big deal, as there is a country store about a mile away. However, using the bath house in August without air conditioning wasn't terribly pleasant. We camped at Luray KOA (formerly Luray RV Resort Country Waye) in a Travel Trailer.

It was our 2nd time staying at this campground. This year they added the pergolas with a patio set and a new fire pit area. The view from those sites are just beautiful, overlooking farms and the mountain ranges. Very clean and well maintained. This is a small camp ground with a good distance between sites and most sites had shade trees. The dog park was clean and fenced in with available water. A great pool that is also extremely clean. Lots to do in the Luray area, the little downtown has some great restaurants, close to amazing hiking and the caverns is something to see once in your lifetime. We stayed for a short weekend while kayaking. We had three 16 year old boys with us. The location was beautiful! Everything was extremely clean. Staff was very nice. It is a small campground, but the sites were large and spaced nicely. The boys didn't have much to do, but with us being on the water most of the day it was fine. We would stay again if we had a need in this area. We camped at Luray KOA (formerly Luray RV Resort Country Waye) in a Fifth Wheel.

Beautiful KOA park located in the rolling hills just outside of Luray. The park has the standard amenities of showers, bathrooms and laundry. The pool area was nice and a popular hang out spot for the guests. The park is easy to access from the highways and has a wide selection of site options. The wifi worked most of the time for updating email. We enjoyed our stay and will likely be returning. See our full review and pictures at thegilliamsisland. The management has gone all out to keep this campground neat and clean. The roads and sites are crushed stone. Each site has a table and firepit. A few upgraded sites have concrete patios. The water, electric, and sewer work fine. There is no cable TV and the Wi-Fi is very poor. The campground has a nice pool, dog walk area, and playground. There are mountains around the park that make for a pretty view and you are near the Shenandoah National Park. We camped at Luray KOA (formerly Luray RV Resort Country Waye) in a Travel Trailer.

We always schedule a few days here each year. Found this year they are doing additional improvements and as always this is one of the quietest KOA's in the country. No cable but probably about 50% of the sites are satellite friendly. We camped at Luray KOA (formerly Luray RV Resort Country Waye) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If you don't have transportation, ask about an SUV ride service which will pick you up at the CG promptly and coordinate pick up at the Caverns. Better service than normal ride sharing services. Good informative guide too. Made this quick stop an enjoyable and relaxing short stay.

This was our Autumn trip to Virginia. This is our fifth trip to this campground, still my favorite campground of all those I've stayed at or visited. This trip we had a back in site that overlooked hill which gave us great views of the valley, farms and of course the mountains. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We stayed for the week. This campground is so well maintained and kept up. Our site featured a new fire pit and concrete block sitting area overlooking the hill and countryside. They are always trying to improve the campground, a very nice touch. We were right across the lane from the bathrooms. These were very clean and well taken care of. Water pressure was fine, as was the electrical hookup and the sewer hookup. All in all an excellent campground. We will be back inn the spring. We camped at Luray KOA (formerly Luray RV Resort Country Waye) in a Travel Trailer.

This is the best KOA we have ever stayed in. It's set in the country in the middle of a farm and cornfields with a beautifully landscaped area in the middle and the sites surrounding this area. The sites overlooking the green area all have a concrete pad in the green area with fire ring, Adirondack chairs and an umbrella. There is also a concrete pad by the coach with table and chairs. The outlying site not directly on the green area all had fire rings and a sitting area. The grounds were immaculate. The road in/out of the park is a little tight, but doable. Only downside was one day the wind was blowing the dairy farm smell to us, but only one day out of a week stay. Staff was friendly and helpful.
