Beautiful KOA park located in the rolling hills just outside of Luray. The park has the standard amenities of showers, bathrooms and laundry. The pool area was nice and a popular hang out spot for the guests. The park is easy to access from the highways and has a wide selection of site options. The wifi worked most of the time for updating email. We enjoyed our stay and will likely be returning. See our full review and pictures at thegilliamsisland. The management has gone all out to keep this campground neat and clean. The roads and sites are crushed stone. Each site has a table and firepit. A few upgraded sites have concrete patios. The water, electric, and sewer work fine. There is no cable TV and the Wi-Fi is very poor. The campground has a nice pool, dog walk area, and playground. There are mountains around the park that make for a pretty view and you are near the Shenandoah National Park. We camped at Luray KOA (formerly Luray RV Resort Country Waye) in a Travel Trailer.

We always schedule a few days here each year. Found this year they are doing additional improvements and as always this is one of the quietest KOA's in the country. No cable but probably about 50% of the sites are satellite friendly. We camped at Luray KOA (formerly Luray RV Resort Country Waye) in a Motorhome.

Clean, well maintained park. No cable TV. Wifi was slow but usable. Roads are good and sites have good rock foundation. Clean bathrooms. We will go back. It was a good stay in spite of the RAINY weather! We camped at Luray KOA (formerly Luray RV Resort Country Waye) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If you don't have transportation, ask about an SUV ride service which will pick you up at the CG promptly and coordinate pick up at the Caverns. Better service than normal ride sharing services. Good informative guide too. Made this quick stop an enjoyable and relaxing short stay.

This was our Autumn trip to Virginia. This is our fifth trip to this campground, still my favorite campground of all those I've stayed at or visited. This trip we had a back in site that overlooked hill which gave us great views of the valley, farms and of course the mountains. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We stayed for the week. This campground is so well maintained and kept up. Our site featured a new fire pit and concrete block sitting area overlooking the hill and countryside. They are always trying to improve the campground, a very nice touch. We were right across the lane from the bathrooms. These were very clean and well taken care of. Water pressure was fine, as was the electrical hookup and the sewer hookup. All in all an excellent campground. We will be back inn the spring. We camped at Luray KOA (formerly Luray RV Resort Country Waye) in a Travel Trailer.

This is the best KOA we have ever stayed in. It's set in the country in the middle of a farm and cornfields with a beautifully landscaped area in the middle and the sites surrounding this area. The sites overlooking the green area all have a concrete pad in the green area with fire ring, Adirondack chairs and an umbrella. There is also a concrete pad by the coach with table and chairs. The outlying site not directly on the green area all had fire rings and a sitting area. The grounds were immaculate. The road in/out of the park is a little tight, but doable. Only downside was one day the wind was blowing the dairy farm smell to us, but only one day out of a week stay. Staff was friendly and helpful. We camped at Luray KOA (formerly Luray RV Resort Country Waye) in a Motorhome.

This is one of KOA's better parks, & as full time RVers for 5 years we have stayed at many KOA's. Level, solid shale sites, FHU's with reasonable height for sewer connection. Well manicured & maintained, large enclosed pavilion with BBQ area, clean pool, playgrounds, ping pong table, billiard room. Cabins & yurts available. Site spacing is OK, close but not on top of each other. Staff is very helpful with info on local activities. Typical high rates consistent with KOA's. This park is a delight! From the friendly folks in the office to the relaxing rural setting, one of our best RV park experiences in quite a while. We were in a back-in site up the hill from the tenting area - the view was nice, the sites had plenty of room, and blissfully quiet. At one point, a young lady in a golf cart was going site to site, using bleach water to clean off the picnic tables - never seen that at any other RV park. Nice pool area. Good laundry facilities. Reasonably close to Luray for shopping and restaurants, and good access for exploring Shenandoah National Park. We camped at Luray KOA (formerly Luray RV Resort Country Waye) in a Motorhome.

Pretty, well manicured campground which is too expensive for what they offer. There is no cable TV, we could only pickup two channels on ouf antenna, and the trees on our site prevented us from getting cable. The utilities were well placed and worked except thatthe seer connection wasn't threaded. No problem for big rigs. If you are travelling on I-81, the campground is far off the interstate. I wouldn't stay again unless I was visiting Luray Caverns. We camped at Luray KOA (formerly Luray RV Resort Country Waye) in a Motorhome.

By far the best KOA I have ever used. We generally try to come here at least once a year starting back when it was Country Waye. I was worried that when it became a KOA it would change but in some ways such as a second pool it is better. If you are looking for quiet, great views and a great location to explore the valley, the valley it is perfect. We camped at Luray KOA (formerly Luray RV Resort Country Waye) in a Motorhome.

Very well maintained, and recently updated park. Our site was a back in on the hill over the south side. Utilities were all good. Convenient to Luray and Shenandoah NP. Typically for KOA a bit overpriced. We camped at Luray KOA (formerly Luray RV Resort Country Waye) in a Motorhome.

Pricey for so few amenities, but very nicely maintained. I chose the KOA because I have kids, but alas they had little on offer for the little ones (and a couple things mentioned on their site were not actually available). On the plus side, the park is spotless, the sites are really nice, level, gravel sites with fire rings, and the view was great.
