The staff at check-in was friendly. Beautiful views of mountains-great location for viewing fall foliage. Lots of activities for children and nice dog park. We were told our spot had cable but it did not. Wi-fi was very spotty and limited. We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park at Luray in a Motorhome.

This price was for a holiday weekend which we found very high for what you get. No cable and even though they advertise wifi and we could connect we could not get to the internet or get emails. Park is great for kids though. Sites are tight and our neighbors fire pit was very close to our bedroom. The grass around the pit caught fire several times which made us nervous. Although it is a nice park we would probably look for something different because of the price. We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park at Luray in a Fifth Wheel.

By far, our favorite campgrounds. We stay here every year for Halloween and have an absolute blast with our kids. The staff is always great and very accommodating. New water slides coming for 2018! We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park at Luray in a Fifth Wheel.

A very nice, clean campground. Good water pressure and wifi. Cable was snowy on all channels. Only 3 over the air channels. Used Dish. The pull throughs were concrete and back-ins are gravel. Easy in and out. Overall this was a pleasant stay. Great place for kids in season. plenty to keep them occupied. Golf Carts for rent. This was our second stay at this campground, but the first time was 16 years ago. We decided to come back with the kids and they've changed a lot in 16 years. We took advantage of the 7-NIGHT STARS 'N STRIPES SPECIAL package for July 4th week stay. We reserved site #183 (FHU) for our 35' travel trailer which is very convenient to all activities in the recreation center and water slide. The grounds are very clean and the staff is very nice to deal with.

We had one issue with the power pedestal breaker tripping with the A/C unit running when we first setup. I talked to the staff riding by on their golf cart and within 10 minutes they had me back in business. They didn't have another 30 AMP breaker on hand so they gave me an adapter to use with the 50AMP breaker. They also stopped by later to check on us to see if everything was working too. Nice to see that customer service is still alive these days!

The only bad thing was the WIFI throughout the park. The signal is low and speed matches dial-up, but that's not high on my list while camping. My kids rely on it more than me. We really enjoy visiting this area so we'll return for another stay. We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park at Luray in a Travel Trailer.

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $100.00
Overall Rating:

This is a pricey place to stay. Even with our 7-night discount, the extra charge for the 4th of July and the taxes, it worked out to $110 per night. That pretty much covers the negatives. We did find that for our vacation in Shenandoah National Park that it was superbly located. If you have kids with you, there are tons of things to do and everything is extremely well maintained. Our site was a Premium Red Carpet which gave us a concrete pad and patio. Other sites made do with gravel. Our site was pretty level and my trips around the campground showed most all of them were. Most of the roads are paved but even the gravel ones are in great shape. I am pretty sure they cut the grass at night using flashlights and scissors because we never heard a lawn mower. The showers and restrooms were beautiful, ceramic tile and stainless steel. There was the occasional minor problem of water pressure but most of the time it was fine. The big thing for us though was the location. Shenandoah is over 100 miles long and Luray is pretty much as close to the middle as you can get. This greatly shortened the drive times for us. Wi-Fi is free but they do monitor it and if you try to download a big file, they boot you off. Strictly for email and Facebook, not working. Our AT&T signal was fine and we used that for the occasional big file. The sites are pretty close together but angled in such a way that you are not looking out your windows and into your neighbor's. Staff is friendly and helpful and there are plenty of them. The dog park was a pretty large fenced area with a few obstacles for them to jump over. They even provided bags for the dog owners to clean up after their pets. All told, a great experience. We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park at Luray in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

There is plenty to do in the area. Luray Caverns was a 'must see' in our book. Only 4 miles to the Appalachian Trail and the Thornton Gap entrance to the park. There are plenty of small wineries in the area to visit, DuCard Vineyards was our favorite in nearby Etlan. The Luray Zoo is a small, rescue zoo but still worth a visit. Just 4 miles west of the campground is the Luray-Hawksbill Greenway.

This was my first time to get to stay at the camp ground. The staff were so nice and helpful that it was shocking, this is a great place to go with the kids or just the adults who need to unwind. Everything was well kept and in pristine condition, from the bathrooms to water slides everything was looking great. Top notch and great service from the new owner and ALL THE STAFF!!! Lots to do with family and friends, the kids loved the giant bouncing pillows and the basketball court. They have a heated swimming pool and jacuzzi as well as unheated, there was candy bingo, a dance, tie dye shirts, Of course you have to buy these items. There are golf cart rental, ice cream shop, a general store, arcade, water slide, paddle boats , fishing and freshly renovated bathrooms and showers. The morning views were well worth the price of the camping.

Stayed one night with my two kids (10,6). The amenities were great for them and they enjoyed everything including the pool, jumping pillows, Pitt putt, and outdoor movies. Restrooms / bathhouses were very clean. We were there mid week so not crowded at all. Campsites seemed appropriately spaced. Only issue is amenities may be available +/- 30 min of posted opening times. Very minor feedback ... We had a great time and will be staying here again later this summer! We met with 4 other campers here for our Club's Grandparents' Week. We ended up paying $200 more to have a golf cart. The park has lots for kids to do, including many activities. I rate it high for that. The dog park, however, is a sorry sight. There is no grass, it has poison ivy and is very small. That was a huge disappointment given they have so much ground and everything else is so nice. We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park at Luray in a Motorhome.

Great busy place! Water slide, horseshoes, fishing, tons of activities. Didn't like the cart rental fees, but liked that you had to be a licensed driver to drive them. Boathouse clean, deluxe cabins a blast.staff friendly and helpful. Recommended for a few night stay so you can do everything! We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park at Luray in a Cabin.

We stayed a week here. It's a great place for kids. Just about everything is included in the cost of the site. Ours kids are teens and they still used all the attractions. Our site (204) was very level, had a nice cement pad. The cable box is a good 20 feet away so bring a long coaxial cable with you. We were escorted to the site but the "ranger" said he wasn't supposed to help guests back in. Fortunately some friendly campers jumped in to help. This row of motorhome sites has the best views in the park. 204 is directly across from the playground, which was fine with us but if you want quiet you might get one in another row or further away from campground. I had a couple of issues with electric and they handled it quickly. It's hard to reach the front desk by phone. There is one person working there who I think has been there a little too long. However, the young staff was very friendly. Overall, its a nice park. The "rangers" we called the Yogi PoPo and it did seem sometimes like were the "inmates" as opposed to customers. But that didn't ruin the trip. When they say "Quiet Time" is 11 PM, they mean it. All kids have to be back on the site at 11, which is early in the summer, for our kids anyway. The washing machines are clearly marked as "cold water only". The dryers were very good. The store is nice and has a lot of RV supplies. We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park at Luray in a Motorhome.

Lots to do for the kids. Price is high, but includes everything the kids want to do. Pools are nice. Bathrooms are horrible - hair everywhere, mold in shower stall tiles, overly humid and wet. If it weren't for all the kids' activities we wouldn't go. There are other, nicer campgrounds in Luray. We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park at Luray in a Tent Trailer.

If you've got kids then this is the place. It was crowded, with golf carts everywhere, but the staff made an attempt to keep everything flowing and safe. Pool area/attractions were great but not as nice as other Jellystones we've visited. A little on the hilly side if you venture up near the top (Laser tag, etc...) Even with the remote location there is still plenty to do in the surrounding area. Skyline drive, Luray Caverns, and a multitude of Civil War sites, to name a few. Staff was very pleasant and honestly seemed interested in what they were doing. I wouldn't necessarily go back because I like visiting different areas but I would definitely recommend it to a family with kids! We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park at Luray in a Motorhome.

Unfortunate, this park is going the way of all Jellystone parks. Full of construction for new cabins and over the top water parks. It's geared for families with kids and not much else. Golf carts are for rent and have become a major headache flying all over the park at all hours. That said, the staff is wonderful and very helpful, cable is still a work in progress and ours was not great. They also have some water drainage issues on the upper level near the bath house and we had to change sites when we got there after a heavy rain. Bath houses could use some updates, but are very clean and taken care of. If your looking to have a fun time with kids or grand kids, this is the place (age restriction for water slide so read the rules carefully), but if your an older couple wanted to R & R this is not the place for you. We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park at Luray in a Motorhome.
